Hi, I want to report that the epm download URL isn't responding (it's

Can anyone help with this?

Re: [Mac] [Build] python headers not found

2013-09-28 Thread Tal Daniel
Herbert, thank you updating me on the SVN update, which updated Python
definitions in configure.in; it makes things much more easier now, since
Jürgen points now to the current version of Python.

Would you share with us how do you track SVN updates? do you use Eclipse,
or other tool? cmd-line?

For now, I've decided to sync build AOO401 tag, which is more stable, I
guess.

Thanks again for your help,
Tal

[MAC][Build] Error at soltools mkdepend

2013-09-28 Thread Tal Daniel
Hi, I get an error while building (below).
Can anyone guide me how to check its source, and how can I get a more

To build, I use build --all debug=t -P2 --html --html_path

all, but I'm not sure).

You can find a SDF file built for the approved 4.0.1 at

Thx a lot !

(in the subject of your mail you mention trunk too; the one in trunk was
updated last month and should still be valid; if you need I can commit an
 updated one).

I was not sure if it was valid, it seemed to miss some entries, but since I
am also developing I have 2 floating targets (my development and the file)
and can never tell whats ok.

I think we should avoid hyphens and separators since we may use the codes
to construct locale information such as it-IT or it_IT. Personally I
would simply use keyid, which also avoids the confusion kid = young
person, but any other reasonable string without separators is OK for me.

I will use keyid.

Do you know if I need to change somewhere in the code itself also ?

I have btw changed xx_XX to xx-XX in branch l10n40, so we dont have a mix
of _ and -.

Re: A little more eye candy for 4.0.1 release

2013-09-28 Thread Drew Jensen
Ok - here it is

;) Opens with flowers, of course and not just any but I believe some of the
oldest artwork distributed with the package; Daisies.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bx7ZNEXlmR0IeE1kMVZzZHhpWkE

In fact I had only planned on using these 4 screens, which is all this is
really, 4 impress screens if you like, as a way to layout a look for a
theme - but it IMO looks good and so I grabbed a voice over clip from what
I did last month and a CC-SA piece of music - I think it's a good face for
the project. It's Saturday noonish and I will be able to check emails later
tonight and could upload any changes Sunday/Monday, so don't hesitate to
make suggestions.

The file above needs the CC-BY-SA (not I did include ND this time) because
of the music, only. I've included the video master I use to generate the
final file here:
 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bx7ZNEXlmR0Ic0pIR01ER0dndW8

I had intended to drop that file on the wiki and as it is Apache License
2.0, all parts are original and based on artifacts either in the
distribution or from the project site; The compressed file is still 10 meg
to large for the wiki however, so for today it is there on gdrive.

The source is three draw files and one gimp file, will wait for any
comments requiring a change and after none will zip them up and place on
the wiki under AL2 also.

As for the webart and wallpaper files from the other day - I will update
those on Monday with files matching the look of the video screens.

.02 on the theme as it is (or template perhaps)
- It is predominantly a duo-tone of the logo blue and white [the mat, the
explorer guy in the lower right corner]
- the logo stays in the lower left
- the upper right uses application/tool icons to designate what a video, or
section, is regarding
- the lower right is used for 'campaign' specific information
Font is so far Open Sans 100%
Colors:
Logo Blue
Yellow 3
Red 7

so, it is a start I believe at least.

Thanks,

//drew

2013-09-28 Thread Drew Jensen
Hi Rob,

I agree with you on the source vs shared distinction of a logo and that is
precisely why PNG is good for sharing and why SVG, after changing from font
text to path [polygons] is also good. One good SVG, as graphic, covers many
PNG files for others to use to get top quality results in their work - IMO

And we still get many visitors using older browsers, even I.E. 6.
 So
I'd recommend using a rasterized version of the logo on the website
 or
anywhere else we expect random users to visit. There are ways of
having both SVG and raster images, but if we're not seeing consistent
SVG rendering then it would be safer to just render via Inkscape and
   use that.

There is a way to have a uncritical SVG version - just convert all
 text
  to
polygons first (and use absolute polygon paths, e.g. in inkscape).
 That
version would be safe since it would not use any font references, only
graphics (polygons). Relying on font rendering in SVG does simply not
  work
for multiple different systems, versions of these and even evtl.
  different
   languages and installed fonts.

That might fix this one issue, but what about older browsers like I.E.
6? Will the logo render perfectly everywhere? We have challenges
getting even HTML and Javascript to work right everywhere. I don't
think we want to risk having our brand image rendering poorly. We've
gone 12 years with a raster logo on the website. It works.

I think you are confusing the render on the browser with using this as a
web design element. SVG have been around for ages, the fact that this
 user
asked for a vectorized version (to use for whatever reason) and he happen
to notice an issue on the browser, doesnt mean his intentions is to put
 it
  on the page.

It is a reasonable assumption that the mention of the rendering on the
 browser was not unrelated.

That said, I strongly think we should switch to SVG, natively, is much
  smaller, and more open.

PNG = ISO/IEC 15948. So it is an open standard as well. As for
encouraging the propagation of our logo in an easily reusable vector
format, I don't agree with that. I think we should keep the source to
the logo rather controlled and make raster versions of it available
 for approved purposes.

 -Rob

There are also many fallback libraries like svg.js and modernizr for
 older
browser. IE6 1% of the market. I think we have bigger issues that are
 not
working on the site than 1% of the visits.

pick a free gift app or something purporting to be from you-all for getting the
update. I selected something called ZIPdownload or something like that. Soon
every few links or even just blank parts of webpages I clicked on would instead
open a new tab (I'm using Google Chrome Browser) offering me various convoluted
consumer surveys, prizes, gift cards, etc. The URLs of the pages 'popped-up'
in this way included elements similar to those of the website I was trying to
read or click from, so at first I assumed they were a new kind of annoying
popup ad not yet blocked by normal popup blocking.

Then today I started seeing ads on Wikipedia! They had a fundraiser recently,
so I wondered if they'd had to just cave and sell space. These ads were
churning fast too, unlike normal web ads, and they were starting videos and
audio automatically in their banners and squares. This all became intrusive,
so, suspicious, I found this page
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2012/05/14/ads-on-wikipedia-your-computer-infected-malware/.
So I went into my browser extensions and found something unfamiliar to me
calling itself SySaver and not saying anything about what it is (and I am
extremely conservative about installing new programs/etc. on my laptop here, as
well as knowledgeable about computers and software in general). I googled
SySaver and found mentions connecting it with ecommerce, and thought it might
be the culprit, even though it's not the one mentioned in the 2012 Wikimedia
article. So I Trashed it in Extensions, Uninstalled it via Control Panel,
noticed it had been installed just on 9/26, two days ago, same as ZIPdownload,
so for good measure I uninstalled ZIPdownload too. Somewhere while I was doing
this, my browser got closed w/o asking me, so I reopened it, restored my closed
tabs via the yellow warning bar, and the ads seem to have disappeared from
Wiikipedia, as well as the extraneous neo-popups... so far.

Sorry if this is long-winded, but I never know what will be helpful to you-all,
so I figure to err on the side of caution and give you these details.

author so no way to get an update. Also they quote the fokrked so maybe he
was just being lazy explaining the whole deal. I did point him to the

The rest is OK, a couple of bugs had been discussed on the mailing lists

It depends on the field type. But in most cases, such as with the

So why does it not work when I just use ooo as the value? I also tried using

Back in July I reset the assignment for all issues that had not

Today is September 26, 2013 so that means that 2000 days before

Can you please tell me why the assignee of the issue

I used the time since assignee touched field. It looks like in
this

that
impacted the query strategy. But you can find all the issues

I

Can you please tell me how to find bugs of a certain assignee?
I want to get all bugs listed which are from the assignee ooo .
When (in the Advanced Search) I select Assignee in Custom
Search and choose is equal to and then set
the value to ooo it does not work. Using is equal to any of
the
strings instead of is equal to does
not work as well - ?

I'd use the Search by People section. The first of the three
groups
there is already set up to search for assignee. One of the
search
options is for contains, so you can then just enter ooo.

Trying to use regular expression and typing ^ooo$ does also not
work. (^ooo works but then I get also things like ooo*)

If you use the advanced search options then you need to select

We all know who is active and who isn't.
 Did not know that.

Notifications are all-or-nothing. A BZ admin can disable all
notifications, run a batch operation, and then re-enable
notifications. But we have no easy way to notify only
assignees.

What would happen if you leave the notification enabled and
then
reset all the assignee fields?

It would not be pretty. It would trigger notifications to be
emailed
to the old assignee, but also everyone that commented on the
issue
previously, or added themselves to cc. So a rough guess, for N
old
issues you would generate 4x email notifications. Doing this

do
this you will end up owing

in summary the conclusion seems to be that AOO currently is more or less

Can some developers please have a look?
