[QA][Test Report] Weekly Status Update as of 20140714

2014-07-15 Thread Yuzhen Fan
Hi All,
We start doing the AOO 4.1.1 Full Path Regression Test(FPR) on June 25,
here is the weekly update (7/8 - 7/14):

*Test execution:*
1. We have assigned 176 text executions to about 19 volunteers, and
completed about 42.6% in execution (69 test executions done). We are behind
schedule to finish feature FVT before Aug 8. The planned completion is 50%
as of July 14.

2. From below test results distributed among Apps, we need to speed up the
testing on Writer(because most of 4.1.1 resolved showstopper bugs are for
Writer), and on Impress(because completed percentage is 30.88% which is
lower than the average 42.6%)

3. From below test results distributed among platforms, we need to speed up
the testing on Redhat Linux 64bit(because completed percentage is 15.56%
which is lower than the average 42.6%) and Mac(No progress on Mac!)

Three is a lot. I think untranslated.html was used to notify pre AOO
versions of OpenOffice where we did not have support for their
language in AOO. If we had support for their language we would just
offer them a normal update notification. But for the others we sent
them to this page. The eol-nl.html version was used in a similar way,
but a slightly stronger message when we declared EOL on OpenOffice.org
3.3.0 and earlier. This can be combined, I think. We never really
deployed these fully, but just used them for a couple of weeks to test
the reaction. They are called from the update notification service,
so if we change the URL we'll need to update it there as well.

I think legacy/thankyou.html page is hard coded in OOo installs. It
is called after installing. So we don't want to change that URL.

In the last 30 days we've had:

45,713 hits to legacy/thankyou.html

And zero hits to untranslated.html or eol-nl.html.

  Hi All,
We start doing the AOO 4.1.1 Full Path Regression Test(FPR) on June 25,
here is the weekly update (7/8 - 7/14):

  *Test execution:*
  1. We have assigned 176 text executions to about 19 volunteers, and
completed about 42.6% in execution (69 test executions done). We are
 behind
schedule to finish feature FVT before Aug 8. The planned completion is
 50%
  as of July 14.

  2. From below test results distributed among Apps, we need to speed up
 the
testing on Writer(because most of 4.1.1 resolved showstopper bugs are
 for
Writer), and on Impress(because completed percentage is 30.88% which is
  lower than the average 42.6%)

  3. From below test results distributed among platforms, we need to
 speed up
the testing on Redhat Linux 64bit(because completed percentage is 15.56%
which is lower than the average 42.6%) and Mac(No progress on Mac!)

Somewhat related to Greg's. Do we need reverification, or, in some
cases, initial verification, on the above issues?

 I now have installed 4.1.1 -- AOO411m2(Build:9771) - Rev. 1608452
 2014-07-07 15:22 - Linux i686

  *Issues quality highlight:*
  1. We need more defect verification volunteers, especially bug
 reporters or
bug confirmators who have ever reproduced bugs
  2. We need speed up testing on Mac Redhat Linux 64bit, and on Writer
  Impress
  3. Testlink system is so slow as to impact test execution's efficiency

  *Volunteer status: *
  1. We have total 19 test execution volunteers joined in FPR execution
 work
since June 24, 8 of 12 new comers in this week are for Redhat Linux.
  2. We have total 3 defect verification volunteers joined in 4.1.1
 resolved
showstopper bug verification work since June 23, but need more as low
  progress now

  *Plan for next week:*
  1. Continue to do FPR test with M2
  2. Remind some test execution volunteers to complete their assignments
  3. Continue to organize the FPR test

Thank you all for effort provided last week, we have made a good
 progress,
but we still need your continuous help to catch up, especially on
  Mac/Linux Redhat and Writer/Impress!

  Yu Zhen

2014-07-15 Thread Yuzhen Fan
To Greg and Kay,

Please retest failed/blocked test case if new build is available, current
build is 4.1.1 -- AOO411m2(Build:9771) - Rev. 1608452 as Kay installed.
The frequency of snapshot build for testing is once a week(*Jürgen*, please
correct me if I am wrong)

To Greg and Alexandro, do you have Mac or Windows 8, so that I can balance
some assigned but untested test cases on these platforms to you? Thanks!
