Hi Damjan,

I will paste the raw text here. The mailing list probably filtered the
attachment out.

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.69. Invocation command line was

Re: AOO debugging revamp

2017-01-30 Thread Patricia Shanahan
I did some more testing, and it seems to be a Visual Studio weirdness.
It was showing my breakpoint as "no symbols loaded". However, when I ran
a test case that I know goes through that breakpoint, it turned red and
worked.

Please send it through if unsure.

I haven't had a chance to test it myself as debugging is currently broken
with precompiled headers, and my Windows VM doesn't have disk space for a
debug build anyway...

built with the maximum debug level ("./configure --enable-debug"

messages we usually don't want.

In r1780246, I've finally changed debugging in gbuild to match

extra benefit
of --enable-debug on top of this now, is that it disables
compiler
optimizations - should we disable them for --enable-symbols too?

In r1780248 I've also made Java's .class files get full
debugging info
whenever C++ does.

This should vastly improve running AOO under a debugger, as we
get nice
line numbers and variable names for absolutely everything :-).

I compiled with the attached configure parameters, and breakpoints
are not working in main/sw/source/ui/app/docsh.cx
x, "No symbols have been loaded for this document".
What should I change?

That would be helpful.
I will write you a PM.

The gbuild stuff is pretty inscrutable ...

After looking at the r1758092 changes to
main/solenv/gbuild/LinkTarget.mk, I wonder if the two instances of this
in solenv/gbuild/platform/windows.mk:

$(call gb_LinkTarget_get_target,$(2)) \
$(call gb_LinkTarget_get_headers_target,$(2)) : PDBFILE = $(call
gb_LinkTarget_get_pdbfile,$(2))

should be:

$(call gb_LinkTarget_get_headers_target,$(2)) \
$(call gb_LinkTarget_get_target,$(2)) : PDBFILE = $(call
gb_LinkTarget_get_pdbfile,$(2))

2017-01-30 Thread Valery Sivakov
Dear Friends,

thanks a lot for you brilliant products.
Nevertheless I ask you to think about involving speech recognition tool in
OO writer.
I have learned, when one is writing his brain operates in focus mode. That
makes to type on keyboard and keep idea quite a difficult thing. So speech
recognition tool could significantly assist to write down ideas and convert
notebook or PC into typewriter secretary. I believe all necessary
technology already exist, but are not brought together in a right place. OO
writer is a right place. Entering big text via typing is wasting a time,
especially when most of the people use mobile phones. Lett do old thinks in
a mordern style.

Best regards,

Windows PCH + debug regression in r1758061 and r1758092

2017-01-30 Thread Damjan Jovanovic
Hi Don / others

As of r1758061 and/or 1758092, the 27/28 August 2016 patches that fixed a
major performance regression on Windows with precompiled headers [thank you
so much for that by the way :-)], building with debugging enabled broke.

In all versions after those commits, build any gbuild module that uses
precompiled headers (eg. main/formula) with "DEBUG=t make" from the module
directory (or use the --enable-debug configure switch for the whole build),
and it will break: the -Fd option that gets passed to the compiler lacks a
subsequent path. It appears that the $(PDBFILE) variable goes missing...

Can you please help?

Thank you
