[dev] ./configure can't find db4/db.h

2009-10-15 Thread Abhinav Chaturvedi
Hi all,
I am trying to compile OO-3.1.x. Its my first time and I am using
OpenSuse - 11.1.

The problem I am facing is that ./configure complains about not finding db.h.
But I have installed db43 using zypper install db43-devel.

I can see db.h in /usr/include/db43. Then I figured that probably
./configure looks for db.h
in /usr/include/db4. Hence, I created a soft-link called db4 in
/usr/include that points to
 /usr/include/db43.

But even that doesn't work. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Abhinav.

[dev] Import of Office-Dokuments, converting to PDF

2009-10-15 Thread Robert Einsle

Dear Open Office Developer List,

at the moment we create a possibility for our customer to convert
existing documents into PDF format. Therefor we found the tool Flexidoc
(http://www.ilfiron.com/products/flexidoc-server.html), which Open
Office uses in the background for converting.

Problems appeared during an evaluation of converting so that the usage
of the tool is hardly possible, but we agree to it.

The question is:
May we approach problematic documents to the Open Office team or as
possible to a german developer so that the import filter of ascertained

document types (in this case .ppt and .doc) can be improved?

But we have to mention that these documents are very confidental and can
not be unfolded.

We look forward to our reputed challenge.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Einsle

[dev] short description for ReleaseNotes can now be added into FeatureMails

2009-10-15 Thread Bernd Eilers

Hi there!

The form in EIS to enter a featuremail has become an additional text
field for entering text that should go into the WhatsNew Information of
ReleaseNotes for releases and developer snapshots.

The column spec abstract in the WhatsNew Table of the ReleasNotes has
been renamed to description. This column will contain the text entered
into the new field in EIS if present. If no special text was entered in
EIS the first paragraph of the abstract of the specification will be
used. If no spec is available and no text was entered into the new field
the description of the featuremail is being used.

Please limit yourself to one or two short sentences only when entering
data for the new field.

You can also add this new data to featuremails which where already sent.

Just use the Menu entry Changes Mails / FeatureList in EIS and click
on the pen on the right site of the table to edit the featuremail. Only
the original poster of the featuremail and a limited set of users with
special access rights can change this information.

Kind regards,
Bernd Eilers

BTW, I can't add feature mail in the EIS. I don't have any button to
enter or edit feature mails anywhere. Is this a permission issue,
or ... ?

2009-10-15 Thread Ingrid Halama

Hi Bernd,

That was cool fast! Thanks a lot for implementing this feature! :-)
By the way, I can confirm problems login into OOo-EIS at the moment. The
login mask does not return with any result. Thats maybe related to
Koheis problem?

Thanks again!
Ingrid

Well ... in general itis possible to forward such documents to
interested developers (assuming, that some developer is interesed and
raises hand).

The better way might be to look for some service contract with one of
our contributors (might be Sun, Novell, soe individual developers). This
would guarantee, that your documents are treated as confidential and
your issues get fixed.

Best,

André
