There a page in wiki:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Android
that lists also other OSM software for Android.

Re: [OSM-dev] Imported data missing from mapnik database?

2009-09-28 Thread Claudomiro Nascimento Junior
Jon,

There is a way to touch the affected data, so it can be "reapper" on
minute diffs?

We noticed that "osm XAPI" doesnt has this data and maybe it is
missing in other tools/sites that use minute diffs for updating.

What do you think would be the best way to handle this?

thanks

Re: [OSM-dev] Any OpenStreetMap viewer for Android?

2009-09-28 Thread Stefan Keller
Many thanks for all the hints so far.
Regarding Navit I did not found any sources on the SVN and it's far
from being easy to install.
Vespucci declares itself explicitely as NOT being "a map-view or even
a routing-application". And it failed to work on my G1.
Remains actually osm-android (http://code.google.com/p/osm-android/)
and eventually AndNav2 of which we'll have a closer look.

We've solved the outstanding issues that were holding up the sync.
I've now commited the Translatewiki translations to trunk (but they're
not live on the website yet).

http://trac.osm.org/changeset/17832
http://trac.osm.org/changeset/17836

We now have 26 new languages. Which more than doubles the previous 25.
Some of them are really small but a few are almost complete
translations of the website.

Hopefully Potlatch will be translatable within a few days.

It's a mix of all of the above.Everyone is inconvenienced to some
degree with the current situation ; it's just a compromise to be able to
continue to host the lists, since there is not much admin time to deal with
broken MTAs, etc that cause a bother with the alternate list configuration

Maybe the best will be: rm -rf $duplicates
So I won't get any list-mail offlist and I won't complain anymore. If
really some interesting things have been in some of these mails they
maybe will be quoted in some of the next. ^^

[josm-dev] Loading JOSM+plugins into Eclipse for the first time.

2009-09-28 Thread Ray Foulkes
I am trying to chase a bug in josm+surveyor+livegps.
I am struggling to get
http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/editors/josm/ into Eclipse.
I have tried using the svn plugin in Eclipse to download the project.
That works insofar as I can use the build.xml to build the project and
it runs OK.
However, when I try to use the Java tools to (for example) find the
declaration of a variable, I always get the message "resource is not on
the build path of a java project".
If I use an svn client to download to a directory then point Eclipse to
construct a java project itself, there are hundreds of Java errors which
I have not fully investigated but look nasty. Not surprising since the
build scripts I don't think are being used in that case.

Can anybody help me to get
svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/editors/josm/ into Eclipse so that I
can use the tools of Java in Eclipse. It has to be something simple I am
doing wrong. Apologies in advance if the answer is well known.

There is an experimental port of Navit, which does on-device vector
rendering and routing with OSM data. It works reasonably well in my
  limited testing so far.

http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Navit_on_Android

There is also an experimental on-device editor called Vespucci

With the multiple excellent logging applications that are available,
Android is a nice mobile platform for OSM!

Well, technically the duplicate is usually created by the sender's
mail server when one sends a mail to two different addresses. The MUA
only creates one mail with one ID.

This debate will never end and is therefore pointless. I doubt you
will convince many people to switch to a different MUA just to spare
you from duplicates. Some people don't even have the choice. Has
nobody come up with a plugin for MS Outlook, yet, that implements
proper list handling?

I guess the first to arrive wins. Unfortunately, this is usually the
direct mail. This is annoying when one uses list headers to sort
mail.
