I don't think so.

The more the merrier ^^

Actually I got the feedback that even people from distantly associated projects
like MyFaces, OpenEJB and Geronimo are interested in a VOTE being in progress.

2011-12-04 Thread Gurkan Erdogdu
Just concerning on rules for mailing lists, do not cross-post.

for example, below is excerpted from http://struts.apache.org/mail.html

Respect the mailing list type
* The User list is where you can send questions and comments about
configuration, setup, usage and other user types of questions.
* The Developer (or Dev) list is where you can send questions and
comments about the actual software source code and general development types
of questions. Questions about the future of Struts are best addressed to the
dev list.
Some questions may seem appropriate for posting on both the user and the
developer lists. In this case, pick one and only one. Do not cross post,
unless a Committer asks that the thread be moved to the other list.

Actually I got the feedback that even people from distantly associated
projects like MyFaces, OpenEJB and Geronimo are interested in a VOTE
being in progress
Then they can register to dev@ list.

Re: 1.2 Branch

2011-12-04 Thread Mark Struberg
Hi Gurkan!

I'm on the EG and we are still heavily changing the draft!
We even already reverted/changed a lot stuff which made it into the EDR after
reviewing the pieces.

Imo it's still too early to adopt it.

As I already wrote 3 months ago, I'm already in the process of incorporating
1.0 API compatible clarifications and changes into owb-1.1.x

Actually owb already contains a hell lot of that stuff!

Also there is atm not really much I desperately miss in 1.0 from the 1.1 spec.
Most of the work currently done have been clarifications!

 Hi folks,

I think that time has arrived to create 1.2 branch. 1.2 branch will implement
CDI 1.1 specification that EDR has already been published.

2011-12-04 Thread Gurkan Erdogdu

Hi Mark

CDI 1.1 adds new functions and introduces new APIs. We can not add these to OWB
1.1.x, therefore we have to branch if we want to implement these features.

OK for just updating OWB-1.1.x codebase for some simple clarifications but not
for new functionalites. We can add mature CDI 1.1 spec items (hardly to change)
to OWB 1.2.
