2012-05-30 Thread Madhuka Udantha
Hi, Nuwan

Pack was build successfully and start finely.
Now we can see

   - Jaggery Applications in jagery
   - JAX-WS/JAX-RS, JavaScript Service Applications from Mashup
   - Applications from AS

In new AS packs, Is there any thing that I have miss?

But still I am testing each feature on each server from samples.
Still there can be issues and I am doing some smoke test on new packs.

When it is complete I will inform in this thread.

 I am getting this error, when building after a svn update.

In that case, you need to update dependencies and build it as well.

Re: [Dev] Merging Jaggery with AS

2012-05-30 Thread Samisa Abeysinghe
We need a full round of testing to call this done-done.

Need to test all samples in all of AS, Jag and MS.
Need to deploy all of those into one running instance and test.
Need to include all Jag and MS samples as part of AS integration tests
Need to test all security aspects
Need to do a profiling with all of AS, MS and Jag in place
Need to do a performance test with all of AS, MS and Jag in place
Need to test the cloud aspects, with Stratos service - meaning we need to
test all above with cloud aspects in place

The QA team is not available right now to do all these, hence AS + Jaggery
teams need to own this.

Please keep posted on the progress made.

 Hi, Nuwan

 Pack was build successfully and start finely.
 Now we can see

- Jaggery Applications in jagery
- JAX-WS/JAX-RS, JavaScript Service Applications from Mashup
- Applications from AS

 In new AS packs, Is there any thing that I have miss?

 But still I am testing each feature on each server from samples.
 Still there can be issues and I am doing some smoke test on new packs.

 When it is complete I will inform in this thread.

 I would rather not put MS in this release itself.
 Even Jaggery, if it works out of the box, we can ship. Else, we have
 other priorities such as JAX-RS and JAX-WS to worry about. And we are at

[Dev] Adding a Data Source using DataSourceInformationRepositoryService OSGi service

2012-05-30 Thread Buddhika Chamith
Hi,

I tried $subject. Although I was able to add a DataSource the data source
definition doesn't seem to get persisted so that it won't survive across
server restarts and the added DataSource doesn't get listed in the
Datasources page as well. Going through the data-source component code I
see that there is additional logic to persist the definition to the
registry in the datasource admin service eventhough it's not included in
the OSGi service. I feel it would be beneficial the provide a comparable
set of functionalities across the web service and the OSGi service exposed.
Any ideas on this?

Yes. Without this check, checkout attempts will be made even when the

for doing so is that the CarbonDeploymentSchedulerTask does not check for

Yes, I understand the reason. Shall we better position it such that

flags-aware. How about something like the attached patch? Would that

 Hi Kasun,

 The flag is not checked at the CarbonDeploymentSchedulerTask level. It
 is checked within the update method of
 the DeploymentSynchronizerServiceImpl (which is the implementation of
 the DeploymentSynchronizer interface).

 Do we need to check AutoCheckout inside the said #update method? I think
 this newly added check is unnecessary and prevents the doInitialSyncUp
 invocation. Ultimately, doInitialSyncUp method does this one time checkout
 of the code.

 Is there a specific reason for adding this conditional check?

 Yes. Without this check, checkout attempts will be made even when the
 autoCheckOut flag is false. The same has been done for commit. The reason
 for doing so is that the CarbonDeploymentSchedulerTask does not check for
 dep-sync configuration before calling the update and commit methods.
 Therefore, if a commit or update is attempted when autoCheckIn or
 autoCheckOut is false, it will result in exceptions being thrown.

 Yes, I understand the reason. Shall we better position it such that
 #doInitialSyncUp doesn't get invoked because of this? That method does is
 flags-aware. How about something like the attached patch? Would that
 address the issue?
 Please note that I haven't tested this! :)

 Do you agree that we must run #doInitialSyncUp no matter what the flags
 are set to?

Yes, we should perform an initial checkout if dep-sync is enabled
regardless of the checkout flag. Will test this out and see how it goes.
Thanks.

NuwanD.

 The CarbonDeploymentSchedulerTask does not check for any configuration
 parameters and AFAIK, it will run even when dep-sync is disabled.

 No, this occurs when we enable the dep-sync via the server

 This *is* the case when the server start-up. I believe Nuwan is

  Rather, what you should do is, if autoCheckin is on, regardless
 of the autoCheckout parameter, you must do the checking out. i.e.
 autoCheckout is ignored if autoCheckin is ON. It is not a UI only
 thing.
 Please improve the depsync code to handle this. We must minimize user
 errors.

Understood, will do the necessary changes.

[Dev] Incomplete response with WSO2 PHP

2012-05-30 Thread Antoine Louiset

Hi everyone,

I would like to run a simple service, my client get the answer but it is
not complete. I do not receive the xml response but only the value of a tag.

The code of the service is :

class AuthenticationService
{
 function __construct()
 {
 }
 function connect($in)
 {
ns1:connectResponse xmlns:ns1=http://www.wso2.org/php/xsd;
xmlns:xsi=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance;
xmlns:xsd=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema;
ns1:returnVal xsi:type=xsd:booleantrue/ns1:returnVal
/ns1:connectResponse

 return new WSMessage($returnMessage);
 }

}

$classes = array('AuthenticationService' =
 array('operations' =  array(connect =  connect)));

$options = array('classes' =  $classes);
$wsmanager = new \WsManager();
$s = new WSService($options);
$s-reply();

The code of the client is :

$client = new WSClient(array(to =
http://localhost/apiserver/services/authentication/index.php;));
$response = $client-request($payloadMsg);
echo $response-str;

---

The client shows just the value true and not the complete response :
ns1:connectResponse xmlns:ns1=http://www.wso2.org/php/xsd;
xmlns:xsi=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance;
xmlns:xsd=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema;

/ns1:connectResponse

Do you have any ideas ?

Thanks.

 see that there is additional logic to persist the definition to the

 Any ideas on this?

 Currently, it doesn't expose the functionalities that can be performed
 upon datasources except the access for DataSourceRepository. +1 for the
 suggestion.

Yes. I was able to add datasource definition using the returned
DataSourceRepository. Would be great if this can be incorporated to the

Re: [Dev] Update on OpenStack + Jclouds

2012-05-30 Thread Lahiru Sandaruwan
From the Jclouds side, they have a pretty good sample for handling
different IaaSes via a common interface. POC for EC2 instances are
completed using those samples for ADD, LIST, and DESTROY instances.
So the next step is to handle Openstack instances via the same Jclouds
insterface.

Thanks.

Re: [Dev] Incomplete response with WSO2 PHP

2012-05-30 Thread Nandika Jayawardana
You should be getting the complete xml message. Are you viewing the
result from a browser. In that case, the browser is only showing the
text in the xml and hence you are seeing the 'true' value.

Nandika

 Hi everyone,

 I would like to run a simple service, my client get the answer but it is

 The code of the service is :

 class AuthenticationService

     function connect($in)
     {
 ns1:connectResponse xmlns:ns1=http://www.wso2.org/php/xsd;

 ns1:returnVal xsi:type=xsd:booleantrue/ns1:returnVal
 /ns1:connectResponse

         return new WSMessage($returnMessage);
     }

 }

 $classes = array('AuthenticationService' =
     array('operations' =  array(connect =  connect)));

 $options = array('classes' =  $classes);
 $wsmanager = new \WsManager();
 $s = new WSService($options);
 $s-reply();

 The code of the client is :

 $client = new WSClient(array(to =
 http://localhost/apiserver/services/authentication/index.php;));
 $response = $client-request($payloadMsg);
 echo $response-str;

 The client shows just the value true and not the complete response :
 ns1:connectResponse xmlns:ns1=http://www.wso2.org/php/xsd;
 xmlns:xsi=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance;
 xmlns:xsd=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema;
 ns1:returnVal xsi:type=xsd:booleantrue/ns1:returnVal
 /ns1:connectResponse

 Do you have any ideas ?

 Thanks.

 Can we fix the @page declaration of JSPs in the Registry and Governance

Hi Senaka/Vijitha,

I tried this but doesn't work.
I found following solution and it works fine.

new
String(request.getParameter(Overview_Provider).getBytes(ISO-8859-1));

Now the resource URL contain the non-utf-8 characters therefore can't open
it.
It can be resolve adding following property to catalina-server.xml.

URIEncoding=UTF-8

Re: [Dev] Update on OpenStack + Jclouds

2012-05-30 Thread Ranga Siriwardena
Hi,

At the same time we have tested the JCloud API with EC2 stuff (i.e.
creating new instance, terminating instance and getting instance states).
It works fine for EC2 related functions and we will try to test the same
for OpenStack setup today.

On Thu, May 31, 2012 at 9:57 AM, Lahiru Sandaruwan lahi...@wso2.com wrote:

 From the Jclouds side, they have a pretty good sample for handling
 different IaaSes via a common interface. POC for EC2 instances are
 completed using those samples for ADD, LIST, and DESTROY instances.
 So the next step is to handle Openstack instances via the same Jclouds
 insterface.

 Thanks.

 Hi all,

 We were able to get an LXC instance started and running in OpenStack, via
 OpenStack Dashboard.
 Also, we could successfully logged into those instances via SSH (From the
 same environment, where OpenStack is installed)

 Earlier we encountered some issues in installing and configuring
 OpenStack in Ubuntu 11.04, so as of now, it is with Ubuntu 12.04 we could
 get it working.

 As the next steps we are working on Jclouds+OpenStack integration, so
 that LXC instances can be managed programatically.

 Hi Senaka/Vijitha,

OK, but I think we still need to do that. I mean all JSPs not just one or
two.

 I found following solution and it works fine.

 new
 String(request.getParameter(Overview_Provider).getBytes(ISO-8859-1));

I don't think that's a good solution. We shouldn't be needing to use
ISO-8859-1 to retrieve the bytes.

 It can be resolve adding following property to catalina-server.xml.

 Hi Senaka/Vijitha,

 I tried this but doesn't work.

We can check with request.getCharacterEncoding() to see it's actually
UTF-8 that we get.

 I found following solution and it works fine.

This set thes encoding globally to Tomcat. Some points for that[1]
