Re: [Dev] RSS Admin services

2014-08-15 Thread Kasun De Silva
Hi Harsha, Danushka,

I checked the back end source, all I could find was following service
methods in the org.wso2.carbon.rssmanager.core.service.RSSManagerService,

addRSSInstance
removeRSSInstance
updateRSSInstance
getRSSInstance
getRSSInstances
addDatabase
removeDatabase
getDatabases
deleteTenantRSSData
getEnvironments
getDatabase
isDatabaseExist
isDatabaseUserExist
addDatabaseUser
removeDatabaseUser
updateDatabaseUserPrivileges
getDatabaseUser
getDatabaseUsers
addDatabasePrivilegeTemplate
removeDatabasePrivilegeTemplate
updateDatabasePrivilegeTemplate
getDatabasePrivilegeTemplates
getDatabasePrivilegeTemplate
attachUser
detachUser
getAttachedUsers
getAvailableUsers
addCarbonDataSource
getUserDatabasePrivileges
getDatabasesForTenant
addDatabaseForTenant
getDatabaseForTenant
isDatabasePrivilegeTemplateExist
getEnvironmentAdaptor
handleException

I believe I'm looking at the right place. In the mgt console there is a
change password option for carbon users. But I'm looking for that option
for *database users*.

Thanks

Re: [Dev] org.wso2.carbon.deployment.synchronizer.DeploymentSynchronizerException is throwing GIT built apim.

2014-08-15 Thread Roshan Wijesena
Hi Aruna,

Thanks very much it works!

I just wondering why my freshly built product-apim [1] is not detecting
correct version of carbon-commons. There is a md5sum mismatch between,
dev-carbon-common [2] org.wso2.carbon.deployment.synchronizer and my
product's org.wso2.carbon.deployment.synchronizer jar. That means, we have
a sync mismatch between wso2-dev/carbon-commons and /carbon-commons ?

Regards
Roshan.

Yes you are looking at the right place. Seems like that option is not
there. So can you create a JIRA for this? I too looked at 4.2.0 and
couldn't find any related service.

Re: [Dev] Deploying dataservice configuration with services.xml using Capp.

2014-08-15 Thread Chanika Geeganage
Hi,

Instead of adding service.xml file to .car we are going to add the content
of services.xml to dataservices config itself and in the deployment time
use the existing code to parse that content as services meta data.

Thanks

 Hi,

There is a requirement to deploy dataservice configuration (.dbs) file
with its corresponding services.xml using Capp. According to the current
implementation, DefaultAppDeployer[1] calls .dsb files deployer. As the
artifacts in the Capp are extracted and copied to a temporary location
before deploying the services, we thought of changing the dataservice
deployer code to pick the services.xml as well. So I tried to add the
services.xml file as below to the car file.

 SampleCar-1.0.0
  |-- artifacts.xml
  |-- SampleDataService_1.0.0
 |-- artifacts.xml
 |-- SampleDataService-1.0.0.dbs
 |-- SampleDataService_service.xml

But it seems only one file is allowed to have per a dependency.
(SampleDataService is a dependency for the root artifact). It gives the
 following error.

 ERROR {org.wso2.carbon.application.deployer.handler.DefaultAppDeployer}
 - service/dataservice type must have a single file. But 2 files found.

Then the idea is to use the following dependency tree.
 testCar-1.0.0
  |-- artifacts.xml
  |-- SampleDataService_1.0.0
 |-- artifacts.xml
 |-- SampleDataService-1.0.0.dbs
 |-- servicesMetaFiles
 |-- SampleDataService_service.xml
 |-- artifacts.xml

We may need to change the dataservice code to lookup for
 servicesMetaFiles folder for services.xml file.

Will this be a correct way to fulfill the requirement?

Anyway in the future we will move to a single archive format to archive
both dataservice config and the services.xml file.

Yes. All the configurations added to the services.xml (QoS) can be added to

 Hi Chanika,

In Axis2 .aar file we use META-INF directory to keep the services.xml
file and in tomcat .war file there is WEB-INF to keep web.xml file, By
looking at the consistency it is better to keep services.xml file in a
separate directory . And make sure to use proper name for the above
 subdirectory.

 Thanks,

Hi Gokul,

Hazelcast upgrade [1] has not been merged to the wso2-dev/carbon4-kernel
yet. I did check with the hazelcast upgrade on a local merge and
carbon-utils (with your changes on ntask) get built without an issue. So
might need to revert the changes done to carbon-utils until the relevant hz
changes are merged to kernel.

Thanks.

Re: [Dev] Build failure in chunk-13 ntask component

2014-08-15 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
I've reverted the change to ntask in Git so that the build will pass for
the time being, but it will have to be made again once the version upgrade
is merged; so IMO this is not the correct way to deal this situation, as we
should have merged the Hz version upgrade pull request instead. Any reason
why we haven't done so?

+1, Agree with you on this. We need to find a better process to handle
scenarios like this. (I have came across the same scenario when fixing
[1].) Anyway it shouldn't have been merged to utils since the HZ upgrade
was not there in the first place. As KasunG has mentioned it might take
some time to get this merged to kernel.

Re: [Dev] org.wso2.carbon.deployment.synchronizer.DeploymentSynchronizerException is throwing GIT built apim.

2014-08-15 Thread Aruna Karunarathna
Hi Kasun,

Roshan has built the API Manager code from the Git Repository, tested his
product and there was a synchronizer related issue.
But after some debugging we found that source in the [1] was not comply
with the running code.

As Roshan has pointed above, I assume that there is some change in the
code org.wso2.carbon.deployment.synchronizer in [1] and which the API
manager product builds.

Re: [Dev] Build failure in chunk-13 ntask component

2014-08-15 Thread Gokul Balakrishnan
The Hz pull request was 6 days old and should by rights have been merged,
unless there was some compelling reason stopping it (if there was, it was
never communicated). Since the change was already propagated to SVN (and
was causing a build failure) I made the fix and sent the corresponding pull
request to the carbon-utils. IMO the discrepancy between SVN and Git is
what causes situations like this.

@Kernel team please let us know once the pull request has been merged so
that we can re-apply the fix for ntask.

Has the Hazelcast upgrade in question not been done in the git repo,
because the fix causes build failures in the ntask component under wso2-dev

Sure, we'll update once it has been merged. :) Once hz has been merged to
the kernel we'll anyway require the ntask changes to build the utils.

Hazelcast upgrade [1] has not been merged to the

an issue. So might need to revert the changes done to carbon-utils until

[Dev] Process on releasing orbit bundles

2014-08-15 Thread Kasun Gajasinghe
Hi folks,

I have formulated the process we need to follow when releasing orbit
bundles in trunk @git. @Azeez/Sagara, please correct if any steps needs
correction.

1. If the jar you are bundling is new to the platform, start a discussion
on dev@ list and CC Azeez. Move on to the next step after getting
permission.

2. Fork the orbit *repo* from the wso2 *org* - https://github.com/wso2/orbit

3. Add your bundle - See the tomcat bundle for a sample -
https://github.com/wso2/orbit/blob/master/tomcat/7.0.52.wso2v4/pom.xml
3.1. Folder structure - orbit///pom.xml
3.2. Version syntax - *.wso2v*
3.3. Remove any parent references in the pom
3.4. Add distributionManagement section to your pom.

4. Send a pull request to the wso2 org and ask your team lead to merge the
change. If you are a committer already, you can request commit rights to
orbit as well. You need to send a mail to dev@ CCing Azeez and Maheshika.

5. Release the bundle immediately. You need to send a mail to dev@ and CC
Maheshika for this. Maheshika will then deploy the bundle to Nexus maven
repo.

Thanks,
KasunG

Re: [Dev] [GREG] Getting multiple notifications for resource update

2014-08-15 Thread Senaka Fernando
Hi Danesh,

Yes, this is problem that we need to fix.

I think we need to find a way to mask notifications for certain operations.
Ideally the association processing is a part of the update and doesn't
require separate notifications. But, this functionality of masking should
not just be specific to this use-case, but generically usable for any
similar scenario. Before having the call, can you do some research and
propose a solution to this? Based on that, lets discuss.

Thanks,
Senaka.

Re: [Dev] AS - bringing back Context reloadable for developer productivity

Hi Kasun!

I might have found a proper way to deal with security by overriding
CarbonWebAppLoader#backgroundProcess and wrapping all in a tenant flow with
the super tenant. i added a comment in the jira and added my patch.

i tinkered around with your code base and got the context reloading

 https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/carbon/platform/tags/turing-chunk05/components/webapp-mgt/org.wso2.carbon.webapp.mgt/4.2.2/src/main/java/org/wso2/carbon/webapp/mgt/TomcatGenericWebappsDeployer.java.
I just commented out the statement "context.setReloadable(false)". I also

I assume, the latter is quite a little bit brute force and there should
 be a better way.

Anyway, with these two changes i got back the Tomcat productivity with

Re: [Dev] [GREG] Getting multiple notifications for resource update

2014-08-15 Thread Shavantha Weerasinghe
Hi Danesh

For notifications cant we have an option where the user gets to select
which group of resources user wants to update by ticking to enable and
generate notifications for only that area.

Will that be extra work for the user

That's good progress. I believe we can go ahead with this patch. I *will *need

 Hi Thomas,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We certainly need to look
into this. Can you explain why you had to turn off the checkAccess method?
 Any stack traces?

Also, it would be preferred if you can open a public jira [1] as well
 to track this.

Hi Roshan,

Can you check whether the same imported package version are being
imported?.
This looks like a osgi import-export version conflict or resolution error.

[Dev] what is the difference between EnableGatewayKeyCache and EnableGatewayResourceCache

2014-08-15 Thread Shavantha Weerasinghe
Hi Nuwan

What is the difference between the two properties EnableGatewayKeyCache and
EnableGatewayResourceCache that exist within the api-manager.xml.

I tested with both enabled disabled and one of the two enabled and what I
noticed was that when EnableGatewayKeyCache was enabled and if we delete an
application then the invocation of an API stopps after about 15 minutes
where as if the *EnableGatewayKeyCache *was disabled and
EnableGatewayResourceCache was enabled then upon deleting an application
with the subscriptions the invocation is not allowed
