[Dev] On Jaggery Debugging Facility in Eclipse Java EE IDE!

2014-09-30 Thread Dilan Udara Ariyaratne
Hi All!

I am currently trying to debug some Jaggery code
on my current Eclipse Java EE IDE (Kepler Release).

While going through the following article:
i.e. http://wso2.com/library/articles/2013/05/jaggery-debugger,
found out that at the time of writing the article, (May, 2013) the
debugging facility was only supported on Juno release of Eclipse!

Any idea on whether this works on Kepler or newer releases of eclipse as
well!

Thanks!

Re: [Dev] Jaggery IDEA Pluging Issue

2014-09-30 Thread Dilan Udara Ariyaratne
Hi! Roshan!

I came up with the same issue when it comes to Syntax Highlighting of
Jaggery code.
What I got to know is Syntax Highlighting is currently not supported with
the Community Edition of IDEA.

What you need to do is simply using the Ultimate Edition instead.

Cheers!

Yes, the plug-in was developed for the Ultimate Edition, so it will be
supported properly only in that version.

You can check if the versions of jars mentioned in the link you have

directory of Kepler version, it will probably work.

Have you tried using this already?

[Dev] Trying to get JCEF application running on windows 8

2014-09-30 Thread Awanthika Senarath
Hi,

Has anyone got previous experience in $Subject? I am trying to develop a
simple window in JCEF (Java Chromium Embedded Framework). I am able to get
the window up but the embedded browser is not loading. There are no errors
thrown.

I have followed [1] but in trying the steps i get a python not found
error, even though I have python installed.

Appreciate any input.

[Dev] BAM Mediator changes don't get materialized until manually updating synapse config OR restarting ESB

2014-09-30 Thread Niranda Perera
Hi,

I have been reproducing the following [1] JIRA in BAM.

I would like to get a heads up y'all in coming up with a solution,
especially form the ESB team.

*Issue in summary,*
Consider a case where BAM mediator is used alongside with a proxy server.
After successfully deploying the setup, say we wanted to change a
configuration in the BAM server profile (ex: IP, ports etc). Once the
change is made, it updates the profile config in the registry. BUT the
changes are not updated in the back-end of ESB. So, after saving the
changes if you perform any action, ESB would still use the first BAM
profile configuration.
In order to update the new configuration we would have to manually update
synapse config (by going to source view and update) OR restart the ESB
server.

The need is, once a profile config is edited, the changes should readily be
applied at the backend.

*Detailed issue*
- Following BAM documentation on BAM mediator setup [2]
- BAM and ESB servers running (with a port offset 2 at ESB)
- Made a BAM server profile in ESB with a single stream
- Deployed SampleStockQuoteService in ESB axis2 server on port 9000
- Made a proxy service in ESB
- Added BAM mediator on the in-sequence (as per the docs) - synapse config
gets updated successfully
- Sent requests using ESB sample clients - Setup is working and the BAM
cassandra database receives the messages.
- CHANGED the BAM server profile authentication port to and receiver
port to - profile config gets updated in the registry.
- Sent a request using ESB client - message gets mediated successfully,
whereas it should have given a connection error. this means that the port
changes are not updated in the ESB back-end.
- Updated the synapse config manually (by going to source view and update)
- Expected connection error appears - port changes are updated in the
backend.

In my opinion, this is a case of ESB caching the configurations.

Few clarifications,
1. Can we change the runtime variables which affect the BAM mediator, while
the server is running?
2. Can we update the synapse config (as the update option in the source
view) once a configuration changes? Would this (updating synapse config
automatically when a config is changed) be a considerable performance
trade-off in ESB?
3. How can we update the synapse config, is there an admin service call?

Thank you in advance

Re: [Dev] Build Error in wso2-dev/carbon-medation

2014-09-30 Thread Gayashan Amarasinghe
Hi Isuru,

This is due to a cyclic dependency in the pom files of
org.wso2.carbon.mediation.initializer, and org.wso2.carbon.mediation.ntask.

org.wso2.carbon.mediation.initializer depends on:
dependency
groupIdorg.wso2.carbon/groupId
artifactIdorg.wso2.carbon.mediation.ntask/artifactId
version${wso2carbon.version}/version
/dependency

org.wso2.carbon.mediation.ntask depends on:

Would need to break this cyclic dependency in order for the build to work.

[Dev] error in pom.xml when creating a carbon component service stubs

2014-09-30 Thread Shashika Karunatilaka
Hi
I was referring to this [1] article, At the stage of writing the service
stub in my pom.xml shows an error in the execution tag it says

Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration:
org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-antrun-plugin:1.1:run (execution:
source-code-generation, phase: process-resources)

but when i run using mvn clean install it run without and error and
generates the stub classes without a issue. I wonder why it runs without a
issue and shows error.Does any body know why there is a issue in my pom.xml

Here with i have attached my pom.xml

[Dev] CEP geo-dashboard code review notes

2014-09-30 Thread Kasun Thennakoon
Hi all,

Here I have summarize the suggestions in code review for CEP Geo-dashboard.

[1]: Use hasOwnProperty(key) in for-in loop to make sure that the key you
get is an actual property of an object, and doesn't come from the prototype.

[2]: Declared JavaScript variables explicitly with var statement.(use `var`
keyword within js functions to make variable local )

[3]: Associated methods to the object's prototype rather than defined into
the object constructor.

[4]: Eliminate using `JSON.stringify` when sending data through AJAX,
instead set header attribute content type to application/JSON and send data
as JSON

[5]: Add auto-reconnect mechanism if connection to web-socket fails over
the time.Gracefully handle when web-socket connection lost.

[6]: Store speed history data in HTML5 local storage
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_webstorage.asp,other than keeping
them in JS array

[7]: Use options object to load user specific dynamic content such as ,
path colors, number of speed history points need to be displayed and etc .

[8]: Remove `breaks` when using `return` statement in switch.

[9]: Use common pop-up template DOM to show pop-up message when click on
markers rather than creating individual popups.

[10]: Change JS method name to appropriate one (i.e `getTileServers` to
`loadTileServers`)

[11]: Use dotted line for object path section joins.

[12]: Write method to convert `geoJSON.geometry.coordinates` standard to
Leaflet.LatLng format (Swap Latitude Longitude in
geoJSON.geometry.coordinates when use in Leaflet)

[13]: Remove try catch block in SpatialObject#update method and use if
condition to prevent getting exception

[14]: Use log.info/log.debug when outputting errors rather than printing
them.

[15]: Change internal using jaggery library type(i.e commons.jag) to js and
require them in appropriately.

[16]: Use try catch finally when opening file

[17]: Use master data sources XML when creating data-source object

[18]: write mysql table creation script to create necessary mysql tables
when initializing the geo-dashboard app.

[19]: Use .json configuration files and require them in jaggery source, so
that it will automatically parse the content and return a JSON object.

KasunT

I think the error is shown in your eclipse IDE. Also in there it may use
m2eclipse plugin. But when you ran the mvn clean install you using the
locally installed maven. I think this will cause you to successfully build
the project. I refer to [1] [2].

Hi Shasika,,

Adding pluginExecution to m2e pluing configurations in your pom.xml for

[Dev] Tomcat Session Replication Using Caching

2014-09-30 Thread Pubudu Dissanayake
Hi All,

I am working on an improvement for Carbon to enable tomcat session
replication support using caching .Our previous implementation was based on
a Tomcat Valve ( CarbonTomcatSessionReplicationValve.java).And it was used to
replicate the session and adding it to cluster message.

Http Session replication in carbon works like this (its quite similar to
how the same work in a standalone tomcat).

1. Not every webbapp session will be replicated. You need to set a context
property (distributable) for the webapp you need.
2. Once enabled, and when the session is modified on a node, that
modification is sent to other nodes via a cluster message ( using
clustering )

For the new implementation, initial suggestion is to use our caching
implementation. So we need to store the session object in the cache and
when session is modified, then we need to update the cache.

Please guide me through the process what should I carried out and any
references to help me further to achieve [1].

[Dev] MB cluster integration tests

2014-09-30 Thread Waruna Perera
Hi,

We have created initial test cases for $subject. We have created separate
module for cluster tests *(tests-platform). *This module won't start the MB
pack as compared to standalone tests and only create needed context
objects. You have to mention nodes of the cluster in the automation.xml.
You can access random instance and continue writing test cases. We have
provided few utility methods and admin clients to test topics and queues.
Code is available in git and we will send the pull request.

Thanks

[Dev] Fixing (APPFAC-2521) Second database gets no user assigned + invalid permission templates

2014-09-30 Thread Amalka Subasinghe
Hi,

Currently I'm working on the Jira [1]. Here we have two issues:

*Issue 1:*
1. create a database name db001 - this will create database, dbuser and
template
2. click on the database and see database configuration - under the
'attached user' section shows dbuser
3. delete the database
4. again create the database with the same name db001
5. click on the database and see database configuration

Actual result :
a. No database user under 'attached user' section,
b. 'Attach new user' - 'User name' drop down shows the user which created
previously.
c. 'Attach new user' - 'Permission template drop down' section shows the 2
templates with the same name 'db001@Development'

What should be the expected result here?
1. Are we allowing user to create the database with the same name again? if
so shall we attached the already exist dbuser and the template to the
database?
2. I think we need to stop creating second template with the same name
'db001@Development'. right?

*Issue 2:*
In the Jira, it has asked to change the template names as Admin or
Read-only instead of 'db001@Development'.
Here, my concern is, when we create the database, template will be
automatically created with all the permission (So we can call it as 'Admin'
template), but if the user change the permissions later, then calling the
template as 'Admin' will not be matching. So, current template name is fine
for me. WDYT?

unreliable (JDBC is ok). Also having different logic for different database
types is inconsistent with what we wanted to achieve through the new
storage model (with abstracted out MessageStore interface and storing
strategies).

One of the options would be to duplicate metadata with a reference to the
same content (need a new field in metadata). One of the concerns is how to
delete content safely without deleting content prior to all the
subscribers, for the topic, successfully receive the message.

I think we will have to discuss and relook at what is the best approach for
this.

Thanks

Re: [Dev] Fixing (APPFAC-2521) Second database gets no user assigned + invalid permission templates

2014-09-30 Thread Dmitry Sotnikov
Thanks Amalka!

You have reproduced the issue correctly.

Here's what I think would work:

* This default mode that automatically associates a user account should
always do so. Product behavior needs to be consistent.

As far as I understand, the current behavior happens because of the account
name clash and we have some sort of code that tries to generate the
account, gets the clash and then neither generates the account nor
associates the existing one (what does it do with the password? just
ignores the new password?)

Quick and easy fix, if you do not have time for more changes:
1. Fix this particular handling code, and in the event of name clash, add a
number to the name to make it unique - so behavior is consistent.

Suggested other/better/longer-term possible changes to make the behavior
more intuitive (comments from everyone are welcome):
2. If I am deleting a database and it is the only one using a user account
and permission template, delete the account and template as well (probably
have the corresponding checkboxes on the confirmation window).

Are you sure you want to permanently delete database TestDB65765 in
Development?
[X] Also, delete user account TestDB65765 associated with this database and
its permission template

[Cancel] [Delete]

3. Create a set of DB permission templates (e.g. Admin, View-Only) and have
them available for user accounts:
3.a. By default assign Admin,
3.b. Give in the corresponding advanced screens ability to create custom
permission templates - this needs to be explicit choice though,
3.c. Admin and View-Only templates cannot be edited. When user tries to
edit it, he/she is asked to provide a new custom name.

What do you all think?

 Actual result :
 a. No database user under 'attached user' section,
 b. 'Attach new user' - 'User name' drop down shows the user which created
 previously.
 c. 'Attach new user' - 'Permission template drop down' section shows the
2 templates with the same name 'db001@Development'

What should be the expected result here?
 1. Are we allowing user to create the database with the same name again?
if so shall we attached the already exist dbuser and the template to the
 database?

So, current template name is fine
 for me. WDYT?

Did you write the following cfg files in the quickfixj-home/etc/
directory? I checked my setup, and the FileStorePath attributes in both
executor.cfg and banzair.cfg points to their respective folders in the data
directory within quickfixj-home, not to the location the sample page
mentions. But I wasn't able to reproduce your error by changing values or
removing the files. Does the config error come immediately after executing
banzai.sh or is it sort of a timeout for the executor service to come
online?

Re: [Dev] WSO2 MB 3.0.0 - TODOs in store aspect

2014-09-30 Thread Darshana Akalanka Pagoda Arachchi
Hi,

Also I think we need to take a look at the CQL Database schema since for
most of the column families including Meta Data column family and Message
Content Column family we use the same schema. Because of this the message
Id which is the primary key in Message Content column family has to be
converted into String (which is Long) before saving.

 Hi Shammi,

In the existing version of MB, for topics we duplicate the content and

message content. But implementing reference counting in Cassandra is
unreliable (JDBC is ok).

I think we will have to discuss and relook at what is the best approach
 for this.

Http Session replication in carbon works like this (its quite similar to
how the same work in a standalone tomcat).

 1. Not every webbapp session will be replicated. You need to set a
context property (distributable) for the webapp you need.

Re: [Dev] Tomcat Session Replication Using Caching

2014-09-30 Thread Pubudu Dissanayake
Hi Srinath

Hazelcast WM allows us to cluster user http sessions automatically.
Followings are required for enabling Hazelcast Session Clustering
http://hazelcast.com/use-cases/web-session-clustering/ [2][3]

   - Target application or web server should support Java 1.5+
   - Target application or web server should support Servlet 2.4+ spec
   - Session objects that needs to be clustered have to be Serializable

Purpose of web session clustering is to replicate web session state across
a distributed application servers. Benefits, allow us to scale out but
also avoid any single point of failure and allow us to dynamically handle
node failure within the application tier. performance of this web session
clustering is high according to VP Hazelcast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a0LrlOIXq0. Using Hazelcast session
replication can be achieved in two different ways. Observations as follows.

   - *Hazelcast Enterprise* has native web session clustering build in to
   Apache Tomcat.
   - *Opensource Hazelcast* has provide a web session clustering as an
external filter, basically Hazelcast filter has to be placed before all of
other filters and that will enable us to provide the web session clustering
in opensource. In this use case it doesn't required changes to application
   itself.

Re: [Dev] Jaggery development workflow

Hi Danushka,

That way is much better but I thought there may be a better way so that I
can keep the project in the eclipse workspace itself.

Thanks

You edit the app deployed in server. Just edit the file and reload the web

 Hi All,

I just started to develop a jaggery app and what I am currently doing is
keeping my project on default eclipse workspace directory, packaging the
project to a zip using maven and upload it to jaggery server using the
admin console. As you can see, this approach is very time consuming.

Can you suggest a better way to deploy my app easily? I thought of
keeping my eclipse project in apps directory of jaggery but that does not
 feel like the best solution.

 Thanks
