[Dev] Fwd: Improving the Dashboard of UES

2015-02-25 Thread Vidura Mudalige
Hi Dunith,

I sent a detailed description to the architecture mailing list. Please
check it.

Thanks.

 Hi Vidura,

Could you please elaborate more on why you are not going to use existing
UES pub/sub mechanism? What are the shortcomings it has and how do you plan
to overcome them with your new implementation?

 Thanks,

 Hi Gayan,

Yes it is correct that current pub/sub implementation is quite flexible
for developers. But our main focus is to improve dashboard designer for
 non-developers.

Using timestamp is okay for this example. But there can be various
scenarios that we have to use different kind of data such as an email,
 longitude-latitude, country code and etc.

After the planning stage I can give more detailed description.

 Thanks for your feedback.

 Hi Vidura,

+1 for flexible UI layouts. Most of the times I have walked away from
the gridster layout when developing dashboards since it is not that much
flexible. However I am ok with the current pub/sub implementation. It is
 quite flexible.

 Hi Tanya,

If we are to directly use gadgets pub/sub support as it is, then we
should know publisher's channels, data format etc. in advance. Hence, we
will identify widely used formats and adhere to them, which will be
 pluggable.

As an example, let's say we need to have a widget/gadget to select a
date range in a dashboard. Then it could be either a simple text input
field, a select box or a jQuery data picker like rich UI. But at the end,
 each notifies a date range.

This kind of a thing can already be done by using the timestamps
everywhere. Anyway it is up to the developer to decide. So what would be
the attributes that you are going to unify?

Evolving along that path, we will identify commonly used types(again
these will be pluggable) which needs to be followed by gadget developers.
i.e. If a gadget has followed those types, then it will work in a loosely
coupled manner allowing those to be linked with desired data publisher
 through the dashboard designer.

At the moment, I am working on a PoC and will share more informations
later. Further, this will be integrated with the layout designer which
 Nadeesha started.

Some more description on this is appreciated.

 Thanks for your feedback.

 HI all,

We are planning to improve the dashboard of UES to support bootstrap
 and pub/sub.

What are the improvements that you are planning for pub/sub? Because
 UES already have pub/sub support.

Current dashboards were build using gridster and it is not flexible.
Using bootstrap we can build responsive and easily themable dashboards.

AFAIR NadeeshaC also did some work related to this. Will be great if
you can start from there onwards and continue.

Current dashboards have a fixed layout. Therefore we are planning to
add a selectable layout to the dashboard to make the dashboard more
friendly to the user. We are planning to add multitenency to the
 dashboard as well.

 Suggestions and feedbacks are appreciated.

 Thanks,

 Thanks,
 Tanya

The user.core depends on ndatasource.rdbms module to get a

 had
to add ndatasource.core dependency to ndatasource.rdbms module in order
 to
fix an issue. Then it created a cyclic dependency with the following
 order.

 org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.core -- org.wso2.carbon.core --
 org.wso2.carbon.registry.core -- org.wso2.carbon.user.core --
 org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.rdbms -- org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.core

As the user.core module is in top of the dependency tree, it should
not be depend on a module which is in the lower level in the dependency
tree. Therefore I have changed the user.core module to directly get
datasource using tomcat.jdbc.pool.DataSource. The PR [1] has the changes

Re: [Dev] Registry related tenant data deletion

2015-02-25 Thread Senaka Fernando
Hi Shashika,

So do you plan to create API methods on a per kernel component and per
product component basis? I would find that rather scattered and hard to
maintain. Though this looks justifiable from a kernel's point of view how
would you repeat the same at a component level? My thought was that you'd
be creating some new or adding to an existing component and you'll
aggregate all tenant clean-up functionality in there making it easier to
execute cross component operations. But, this is my personal viewpoint and
it could be that I'm missing something.

Thanks,
Senaka.

administration purpose), who else will need to invoke this API method? My
feeling is that this method does not belong inside the registry kernel or
 components. WDYT?

 Thanks,
 Senaka.

 Hi Senaka/all

To do delete the DB related data one option is to add a new method to
registry api called deleteAllTenantData(or suitable one) so i have to
implement this method on every dependent registry classes, Is it ok to
introduce new method to registry api?

As i see when deleting a registry resources it goes to
 UserRegistry-CacheBackRegistry-EmbeddedRegistry and it calls data
deletion DAOs. So in my case do i need to go through this flow to delete
the DB data or is it enough calling the DB queries in UserRegistry tenant
 data deletion method

Also i have another concern, as an example let say there is an
association related operation so to do that it will go above process I
mentioned and call the DAOs, those DAOs are implemented in a structural
manner where JDBCAssociationDAO implemented all the AssociationDAO
operation, in my case do i need to adhere to above structure where adding
all the registry related table data deletion methods to interface and
implement it or else is it ok to call the queries directly?

 Thank you.

 Hi Shashika,

In solr indexing, we store the resource by its tenant_id
 (indexed_document_id = resourcePath + tenant + tenantId)

e.g: Assume you stored resource from the tenant1, indexed document id
 looks like below,

 id: /_system/governance/services/aaa/aaa/1.0.0*tenantId1*

You can get all resource store under tenantId using wildcard search.

 id:**tenantId1*

In Solr server, they have provided an api to delete by query.

 deleteByQuery(String query)

We can write new method in SolrClient to support this and call it from
your component. Currently we only support delete index by resource id where
 we need resource path.

 Thanks

 Hi Shashika,

I believe this is the only way to do this. There are several things to
 note here.

 1. In memory data - Ideally unloading the tenant should clean-up all
of this and if it does not there is an issue.
 2. DB data - all the tables have a tenant-id column. What you need is
a query to delete all records matching that tenant id.
 3. Solr Index etc and Registry Extensions deployed on the Filesystem -
These should be in corresponding folder/files structures either having a
tenant id or tenant domain. I don't recall this is as X, Y, and Z and I
don't think anyone else would do too. You can scan the code (Registry
Kernel, Registry Component and Governance Component) but it can be
 tedious.
So, may be you can setup a tenant and grep for tenant-id/domain or grep
 for
-1234 and carbon.super in the filesystem.
 4. Other related data - The kernel alone uses the filesystem (inside
repository/deployment) which you might need to clean. There are temporary
files created that many require cleaning and also logs, if you are
interested in a full wipeout. The registry utilises some of these standard
features from the kernel and some information (mostly transient) can be
 found in those.

Appreciate some help from others in the G-Reg team to identify
 anything I missed.

 Thanks,
 Senaka.

Therefore it's redirecting you to the salesforce login page (which is a

Try setting the session to the header.

Re: [Dev] [ES] Store Search function is not working

2015-02-25 Thread Sameera Medagammaddegedara
Hi Sithumini,

This is a known issue and is caused by the following:

When you enter the service name in the search box and press enter the
search query is built using all of the parameters in the drop down advanced
search box. This needs to be fixed to perform the search based on the name
field.

The search operation itself works and can be verified by doing the search
using the advanced search drop down.

Thank You,

We are going to use them and without implementing new algorithms.

Therefore, the main task of this project, it to develop an intuitive

I think you may expect a system in functionally like matlab neural
network network toolbox for deep learning , but entire implementation go
throw the javascript (web) and should be user friendly for non-technical
 users.
functionally I think it is good to go for a better running time
analysis, because we can't see that in above toolbox software and as we
know that deep learning network training is a expensive operation and
 also
it may not good to go throw the back-propagation learning.
so I believe that running time analysis is a functional requirement
 for this proposed system.

but I want to add the blocking in the following configuration also, as
 it is in call mediator.

 call blocking=true

I do not think you need to explicitly handle this. AFAIR
BlockingMsgSender handles the IndirectEndpoint so no extra work needed.

Could you please clarify what you mean by xpath here ?
If you meant getting Source/Target xpath expressions in Callout
mediator options into Call mediator, that is not required at all. Same for
 the endpoint key as well.
Let's stick to the above discussed configuration syntax and
 functionality.

It is not required. It can be used to improve the searching when there
is a flat user structure in your user/role base. It is mentioned here

If you meant getting Source/Target xpath expressions in Callout mediator

Let's stick to the above discussed configuration syntax and functionality.

Re: [Dev] Registry related tenant data deletion

2015-02-25 Thread Senaka Fernando
Shashika,

Apart from whatever tool that you build (again for a specific tenant
administration purpose), who else will need to invoke this API method? My
feeling is that this method does not belong inside the registry kernel or
components. WDYT?

Thanks,

 Hi Senaka/all

To do delete the DB related data one option is to add a new method to
registry api called deleteAllTenantData(or suitable one) so i have to
implement this method on every dependent registry classes, Is it ok to
introduce new method to registry api?

As i see when deleting a registry resources it goes to
 UserRegistry-CacheBackRegistry-EmbeddedRegistry and it calls data
deletion DAOs. So in my case do i need to go through this flow to delete
the DB data or is it enough calling the DB queries in UserRegistry tenant
 data deletion method

Also i have another concern, as an example let say there is an association
related operation so to do that it will go above process I mentioned and
call the DAOs, those DAOs are implemented in a structural manner where
JDBCAssociationDAO implemented all the AssociationDAO operation, in my case
do i need to adhere to above structure where adding all the registry
related table data deletion methods to interface and implement it or else
is it ok to call the queries directly?

 Thank you.

 Hi Shashika,

In solr indexing, we store the resource by its tenant_id
 (indexed_document_id = resourcePath + tenant + tenantId)

e.g: Assume you stored resource from the tenant1, indexed document id
 looks like below,

 id: /_system/governance/services/aaa/aaa/1.0.0*tenantId1*

You can get all resource store under tenantId using wildcard search.

 id:**tenantId1*

In Solr server, they have provided an api to delete by query.

 deleteByQuery(String query)

We can write new method in SolrClient to support this and call it from
your component. Currently we only support delete index by resource id where
 we need resource path.

 Thanks

 Hi Shashika,

I believe this is the only way to do this. There are several things to
 note here.

 1. In memory data - Ideally unloading the tenant should clean-up all of
this and if it does not there is an issue.
 2. DB data - all the tables have a tenant-id column. What you need is a
query to delete all records matching that tenant id.
 3. Solr Index etc and Registry Extensions deployed on the Filesystem -
These should be in corresponding folder/files structures either having a
tenant id or tenant domain. I don't recall this is as X, Y, and Z and I
don't think anyone else would do too. You can scan the code (Registry
Kernel, Registry Component and Governance Component) but it can be tedious.
So, may be you can setup a tenant and grep for tenant-id/domain or grep for
-1234 and carbon.super in the filesystem.

Appreciate some help from others in the G-Reg team to identify anything
 I missed.

 Thanks,
 Senaka.

Re: [Dev] Access Salesforce report data

Hi Sabra,

This works if you follow the steps mentioned in the article. I have done an
app on APPEXCHANGE and Heroku using the same approach.

[1] Worked in my environment.

The issue you are experiencing is that may be due to the session id is not
properly set or invalid.

Therefore it's redirecting you to the salesforce login page (which is a
html page.)

Try setting the session to the header.

But I get a response of an html file only, not a csv file. When I access
the URL from my browser without the sessionId part it downloads the csv

Is there any better way to get the report data or am I doing this all
wrong. Any help on this situation is appreciated very much.

 Hi,

The user.core depends on ndatasource.rdbms module to get a datasource
for realm datasource and user store datasource. Recently we had to add
ndatasource.core dependency to ndatasource.rdbms module in order to fix
 an
issue. Then it created a cyclic dependency with the following order.

 org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.core -- org.wso2.carbon.core --
 org.wso2.carbon.registry.core -- org.wso2.carbon.user.core --
 org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.rdbms -- org.wso2.carbon.ndatasource.core

As the user.core module is in top of the dependency tree, it should
not be depend on a module which is in the lower level in the dependency
tree. Therefore I have changed the user.core module to directly get
datasource using tomcat.jdbc.pool.DataSource. The PR [1] has the changes
 done.
