Re: [Dev] Microservices in fat jar mode should have inbuilt HTTPS support

2016-02-23 Thread Afkham Azeez
It is not practical to allow hardcoding of HTTP related parameters such as
keystore password etc. so the best approach is passing in the config file.
For OSGi mode, the Netty transport bundle will look for the transport
config file in the default path and load it if found.

Re: [Dev] Carbon-Transport Disruptor ExecutorService threads

2016-02-23 Thread Afkham Azeez
In MSS, when a call reaches an operation, we may in turn call another
microservice or do a DB call, for example. Those scenarios need to be
supported.

 Hi Shafreen,

Yeah, the threads in this ExecutorService will be used to execute the
EventHandler. So, according to the current implementation for one handler
there will be only one thread right?

In this case, events cannot be processed concurrently. Events will be
processed one after another sequentially. Therefore, I think we should have
a way to specify the number of event handlers and the number of threads in
 the ExecutorService separately.

 Best Regards,
 Samiyuru

[Dev] Microservices in fat jar mode should have inbuilt HTTPS support

2016-02-23 Thread Asanka Vithanage
Hi All,

Currently if we need to enable HTTPS for micro service [in fat jar mode] we
should define it on a netty-transports.yml file and run the jar file with
define configuration. check the doc [1].

I believe we should provide both HTTP and HTTPS inbuilt support in fat jar
mode.Since current way supporting HTTPS is not much user friendly. Do we
have an any technical limitation in providing this support? WDYT?

Further we don't have any documentation or sample which explains how to
enable HTTPS on osgi mode as well.

Subject: [Dev][Encoding Special Charactors] Throws an Character Out Of
Range exception
To: WSO2 Developers' List

Hi All,

When Encoding String including special / Latin characters throws an
Character Out Of Range exception when we use *encodeURIComponent and
decodeURIComponent* methods which was recommended to used behalf of *escape
and unescape* since there are deprecated.
Using *escape and unescape* does not cause the above issues and Mozilla
Developer Network Publication[1] still encourage to use *escape and
unescape *alone with the *encodeURIComponent and decodeURIComponent. *

Recommended Approach is given below.

function utf8_to_b64(str) {
return window.btoa(escape(encodeURIComponent(str)));}
function b64_to_utf8(str) {
return decodeURIComponent(unescape(window.atob(str)));}

If we replace *escape and unescape with **encodeURIComponent and
decodeURIComponent *the functions seems recursive as given below.

function utf8_to_b64(str) {
return window.btoa(encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent(str)));
}
function b64_to_utf8(str) {
return decodeURIComponent(decodeURIComponent(window.atob(str)));
}

Which is the most appropriate way of utilising the above function?

Thanks & Best Regards.

 Hi Samiyuru,

AFAIU, for each Disruptor we create an ExecuterService. Threads in this
ExecutorService will be used to execute the EventHandler of the Disruptor.
Therefore, number of threads in the Executor are the number of
 EventHanlders for that particular Disruptor.

@IsuruR - please correct me if I am wrong :)

[Dev] [GSoC]Proposal 3: [ML] Visual (Deep) Neural Network Builder

2016-02-23 Thread Dinali Dabarera
Hi,
I am a final year Computer Engineering undergraduate of University of
Peradeniya. Currently I am working with wso2 products and I prefer machine
learning , neural networks and research stuff. I am interested in this
project Neural Network Builder and I would like to proceed with this
project.
I have some hands on experience with some of the wso2 products and analytic
stuff such as SPARK. I would like to know what exactly I have to do in this
project so I study more deeper on those stuff.

Thank you!

Re: [Dev] [Carbon] Adding user names with @ mark

2016-02-23 Thread Chamila Wijayarathna
Hi Lahiru,

I think in general it is okay to add user names with @ mark even when email
username is, I'm not sure if it will be different in your use case. As I
have mentioned in my previous reply, we can use such names by adding tenant
domain at the end of the user name. In management console, when adding
users with @ sign, we don't have to add @tenantDomain at the end, because
if you logged into management console as 'admin' you are already in super
tenant. But when registering to store this is not the case, since you are
not in any tenant yet, you'll have to mention tenant domain also. I have
tested these scenarios in IS 5.1.0 and they are working perfectly fine. But
we need to document this properly to make sure that a user who allows user
names with @ sign will follow this procedure properly.

I don't think changing java regex will do any good here. It is configurable
and when some one using GReg, he will most probably change such stuff which
are configurable. So IMO, it does not matter what are the default
configuration we add in the product.

Thank You!

It's still not very clear to me, will you be able to draw a diagram to

Re: [Dev] [Carbon] Adding user names with @ mark

2016-02-23 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi Darshana,

The Jira is about the carbon store login. That issue has solved from
jaggery side. Apart from the jira, If we use current GREG 5.1.0 pack, we
can add a new user from management console side with user name containing @
mark. But it should not allow to add user names with @ mark without
enabling the email user name. I was able restrict user names with @ mark by
changing regex to :

*[a-zA-Z0-9._-|//]{3,30}$ *
I'm not sure this is the best way to do this. Can you please advice.

 Hi Lahiru,

I recently had a discussion about this with Thanuja. When you don't
have enabled emailUserName, still you should be able to use '@' in user
names. But in that case, you have to mention user name in places (eg-:
login) as username@carbon.super. I guess in your jira also, you should
be able to add user to store if you add @tenant_domain to the end of your
 username.

Can you please check like that and update the thread?

 Thank You!

Re: [Dev] [IS][GSOC]Document Based NoSQL Support for WSO2 Identity Server Database

2016-02-23 Thread Tharindu Edirisinghe
Hi Mohamed,

We are glad to see your interest in this project. In order to make you
familiar with this project with regard to WSO2 platform, we would like you
to complete the following task which would provide an understanding on how
the userstore managers are used in WSO2 products.

1. Refer [1] and understand how a userstore manager can be written and used
in a product like WSO2 Identity Server [2].

2. Refer [3] and understand more about Claims and Claim Management.

3. Referring [1], extend the
*org.wso2.carbon.user.core.jdbc.JDBCUserStoreManager* class and write your
own JDBC userstore manaager. (MySQL is preferred).

4. Introduce a new claim called *lastPasswordResetTimestamp* which tracks
the timestamp of each user's last successful password reset attempt. (in
WSO2 Identity Server). For this you can refer [1] and override the
*doUpdateCredential*, *doUpdateCredentialByAdmin* methods in the custom
userstore manager you wrote in previous step. Inside these methods after
successful password reset, set the current timestemp as a user claim. For
this you can refer [4].

5. In the JDBC userstore manager you have written in above step, override
the *doAuthenticate *method. Inside the method, after performing
authentication, compare the timestamp of the last time the user updated the
credentials with current timestamp. If it is greater than 60 days (you can
hardcode this value for the moment) return an exception with a message
saying the user has to reset the password as it is expired. (For the users
where the claim for password reset timestamp is empty, you can let the
users successfully authenticate)

When performing above tasks, if you face any difficulty, you can ask for
help from this mail thread. You can use GitHub to share your source code
and after completing a deliverable from above steps, you can share your
progress with us.

If you need further clarifications, please get back.

Re: [Dev] [Architecture] wso2 development with intellij

2016-02-23 Thread Harshana Eranga Martin
Hi John,

Best practice for developing WSO2 artifacts is to use Developer Studio. If
you are using Maven as your build system you may use it for Packaging and
deployment.

Even if you are using intellij or any other xml editor for the
configuration development, you still need to use developer studio for
Artifact Management as mentioned in the other thread for your previous
query.

Thanks and Regards,
Harshana

[Dev] [ML] Ensemble Methods Support for WSO2 Machine Learner

2016-02-23 Thread Minudika Malshan
Hi,

I was going through carbon-ml source code to get a basic idea on
implementation of ensemble learning for ML.
I would like to have a look at the implementation of the learning algos
which have been used in ML.
Can you please direct me to the place of source code, where those
implementations have been done?

Thank you!

[Dev] [K8s Artifacts] File Not Found in Starting IS as Key Manager Pack

2016-02-23 Thread Isuru Haththotuwa
Hi all,

I'm noticing the error [1] in the startup of a pod via Kubernetes which
uses an image for IS configured as Key Manager. The pre-configured IS 5.0.0
as KM pack was downloaded from [2].

The file which the carbon server is complaining about (.fileTable.9)
actually exists in the pack when was unzipped locally and run. Also, the
error does not appear in pure docker container, when a standalone container
is started using the same image built with the pre configured distribution.

Any ideas on this?

Re: [Dev] [Carbon] Adding user names with @ mark

2016-02-23 Thread Darshana Gunawardana
Hi Lahiru,

What is the problem of having @ character? and how it does get solved
changing user-mgt.xml?

I don't see the root issue we trying to solve here and it the approach we
are working here is wrong. ie. changing a default regex in user-mgt.xml
should not be a solution here.

Thanks,

 Hi,

im working on this JIRRA https://wso2.org/jira/browse/REGISTRY-3249.
While working on this i was able to identify , admin user can add users ,
containing @ mark in user name *(Without enable EnableEmailUserName
 from carbon.xml)* such as* a...@wso2.com .* I was tested
with GREG,ES,APIM also. I have able to identify that is problem with the
 regex . GREG,ES,APIM has following property in *user-mgt.xml . *

 *>>> name="UsernameJavaRegEx">^[^~!#$;%^*+={}\\|,\'\"]{3,30}$*

If we change that into *>>> name="UsernameJavaRegEx">[a-zA-Z0-9._-|//]{3,30}$ *Problem
 can solve.

Current problem is : from where this user-mgt.xml comes into product. I
have checked with product-greg, carbon-kernal,carbon-indentity. Those
user-mgt.xml's content are different. Currently im trying to modify
 user-mgt.xml for *GREG.*

Re: [Dev] [GSoC][ESB] X12 inbound and connector.

2016-02-23 Thread Nuwan Bandara
Hi All,

IFAIK (need more research) X12 is the common EDI standard for many
industries like healthcare, finance, insurance etc. So in healthcare the
HL7 message get transformed to X12 common format. I think supporting X12
means what we need to do is, when we receive a X12 message we should be
able to transform it and vise versa.

As Malaka said we need to dig into it more

Hi Pubudu,

Thanks for the prompt reply. The problem was in step 10 in [2] it doesn't
ask to copy pack and jdk to /etc/puppet/.. location. After copying them to
correct place, issue went away. I think doc needs to be updated there.

[Dev] Fwd: [GSoC][ESB] X12 inbound and connector.

2016-02-23 Thread Malaka Silva
Hi Lakmini,

We already have a inbound endpoint to support HL7 that was released with
ESB 4.9.0.

First we need to do some research on X12 and how we incorporate this into
ESB. So if this is going to be a listening inbound and a connector or a
enhancement to existing hl7 transport should be decided on your findings.

So as the first step start researching on X12 and learn on HL7 ESB inbound.

Dear sir,

I am third year undergraduate in University of Moratuwa. I would like to
contribute to a GSoC project in 2016.I am interested in contributing to
$subject.

I am familiar with JAVA and WSO2 ESB connectors. During my internship
period I used Redmine Connector for one of my project and did some
modification ([1]&[2]) in Redmine Connector.

I need to know more details about this project and Can you please tell me
how should I proceed with this project.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

[Dev] GSoc Project Proposal 26 : [CDMF] Dynamic Server side Policy Enforcement to the Users and Devices

2016-02-23 Thread Menaka Madushanka
Hello,

I'm a final year Computer Engineering undergraduate at Faculty of
Engineering University of Peradeniya. I'm very much interested in doing the
above project for GSoC this year as I have experience in Java, Javascript
programming and used some WSO2 products.

So, I need to know some more information about this project and
instructions on how to proceed.

Thank you very much

2016-02-23 Thread Pubudu Gunatilaka
Hi Bhathiya,

By default hosts file will get updated. You can add a new entry for puppet
master in [2] or in the product profile hiera file. Entry would look like
as below.

wso2::hosts_mapping :
  localhost :
ip_address : 127.0.0.1
hostname : localhost
  puppetmaster :
ip_address : pm_ip
hostname : pm_hostname

[1] -
https://github.com/wso2/puppet-modules/blob/master/hieradata/dev/wso2/common.yaml#L37
[2] -
https://github.com/wso2/puppet-modules/blob/master/hieradata/dev/wso2/common.yaml#L25

Thank you!

 Hi Nirmal,

Nuwan must be able to build carbon-device-mgt-plugins master
branch without building any other repositories.Since all the snapshot
versions are in the snapshot nexus.Sorry for the inconvenience.
@Nuwan, Please make sure you have an active and working network
connection before building. In order to make sure nexus repository that
cached in the local repository updated to the latest versions and changes
from the nexus use *mvn clean install -U* or Use a clean local
repository to overcome the above issue.

 Hi,

Looks like Puppet agent cannot resolve the hostname set in puppet.conf.
Please check whether correct hostname is set in puppet.conf and that it is
resolvable via DNS or /etc/hosts file.

Also make sure hostname is correctly set in Puppet master. Output of
`hostname` command should match the value in puppet.conf.

 Thanks.

Hi Bhathiya,

check whether you have a file in /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg

if so open that file and in it you fill find a line "manage_etc_hosts:
true".

Make this to "manage_etc_hosts: false"

Best Regards

 Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. The problem was the hostname as Lahiru
mentioned. I didn't restart the VM after changing /etc/hostname before.
Just restarted the VM now and issue is solved. I think it's better to
update the doc if a restart is required after changing hostname.

However I endedup in another error..

Error: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on
SERVER: Could not find data item classes in any Hiera data file and no
 default supplied at
 /etc/puppet/environments/production/manifests/site.pp:21 on node
 apim-node-1.openstacklocal
Warning: Not using cache on failed catalog
Error: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping run

As mentioned in the doc, I have that site.pp in puppet master only. Do
I need to have it in agent too?

 Thanks,
 Bhathiya

Hi,
I suppose then it would be better to use the polling custom-inbound
endpoint. I will try to understand ssl and authentication feature and
report back.

Thank you.

 Hi,

 *Reporting progress:*
This week I learned about inbound endpoints and how to use them. I did
some searching and found that two types of custom inbound endpoints are
suitable as consumer for IBM MQ:

 1. Polling custom inbound endpoint
 2. Event based custom inbound endpoint

As for the first one I have found that code have been written to
achieve this[1]. As for the second I think it is more appropriate to use it
when " the number of messages arriving on the queues is unpredictable. In
this case if polling is used, applications could be consuming system
resources even when there are no messages to retrieve." I have found in [2]
and [3] about triggers. I have not tried any of those yet. I will do so
 hopefully in the near future.

Further I went through the code provided in [1] and found that I have
created the consumer and the producer in the same way as in the above code.
But I didn't understand how to use ssl with the queue manager[4]. I will
try to understand that as well.

That is what I have done this week. Please inform me whether my
approach is correct and what else I could do.

Hi Irunika,

Thanks for your interest in this project. You can get familiar with ML
product by downloading the product and going through the ML workflow. Also
you can also build the product from source by building these repos
respectively [1][2].

If you are already familiar with basic NLP concepts please check available
NLP functionalists in libraries such as Apache Spark [3], Deeplearning4j
[4] and Apache OpenNLP [4]. We will have to arrange a discussion to define
the exact scope of this project. We will keep you posted on that regard.

 Hi Bhathiya,

 Please try the following steps;

 1. Delete all certificates in Puppet master (rm -rf
 /var/lib/puppet/ssl/*)
 2. Delete all certificates in Puppet agent (rm -rf
 /var/lib/puppet/ssl/*)
You may use `puppet cert clean --all` command as well

 3. Check puppet.conf in both Puppet agent and master
Agent should point to master hostname
 server = puppet.example.com

This hostname must resolve to corresponding IP address via DNS or hosts
 file mappings

This hostname must be the Puppet master's system hostname. Or else it
should be added as a property to puppet.conf in Puppet master instance

 dns_alt_names=puppet.example.com

 4. Auto-signing should be enabled in puppet.conf in Puppet master. Or
all the white-listed hostnames should be added to autosign.conf in Puppet
 master.
 autosign = true

 5. Restart Puppet master service after modifying above config files.

 Thanks.

[Dev] Proposal 5: [ML] Natural Language Processing Toolbox for WSO2 Machine Learner

2016-02-23 Thread Irunika Lakmal Weeraratne
Hi,
I'm a final year computer engineering undergraduate from Faculty of
Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I'm very interested in
above mentioned project and I have hands on experience in NLP and ML.
I have done NLP using python NLP toolkit (NLTK) and have dynamic web
development experience in JavaEE, Python(Flask) and Node.js and also I have
experience in HTML, CSS and JS (also in Angular and JQuery). Also I have
experience in UI/UX design (irunika.github.io)
I have used some WSO2 products like G-Reg and IS as well. So can you please
tell me exactly what I have to do in this project so I can learn more about
WSO2 Machine Learner and some more about ML and NLP toolkits.

Thank you

Re: [Dev] [wso2/puppet-modules] Puppet CERT error

2016-02-23 Thread Akila Ravihansa Perera

Thanks.

Re: [Dev] How can I retrieve XMLTYPE & SDO_GEOMETRY types from an oracle database using DSS?

2016-02-23 Thread Rajith Vitharana
Hi Rajkumar,

You may achieve this by writing a custom connector as well. Documentation
is in [1]. But it will be too complicated as you'll need to write the whole
datasource implementation. So easier thing would be to do a conversion
within stored procedure as Anjana suggested.

 Hi Bhathiya,

Did you delete old certs in puppet master as explained in [1] ? From
the commands you have listed, it seems you have deleted the certs in agent
 side only.
[2] too provides some tips related to a similar issue.
Also, if you are testing in an IaaS, please make sure all the necessary
ports in puppet master instance are accessible from puppet agent instance.

Hi Minudika,

Thanks for your interest in this project. You can get familiar with ML
product by downloading the product and going through the ML workflow. Also
you can also build the product from source by building these repos
respectively [1][2].

If you are not familiar with basic NLP concepts please be familiar with
them and also check available NLP functionalists in libraries such as
Apache Spark [3], Deeplearning4j [4] and Apache OpenNLP [4].

We don't have data export functionality at the moment. But I believe you
can use the RDBMS adaptor to publish data to external RDBMS like MySQL and
use tool like phpMyAdmin to export that data to CSV.

Re: [Dev] Publishing data to CSV file in DAS

2016-02-23 Thread Sashika Wijesinghe
Hi Gihan,

In data explorer there is a set of tables
('ORG_WSO2_APIMGT_STATISTICS_FAULT', ORG_WSO2_APIMGT_STATISTICS_REQUEST)
which contains the event information. My requirement is to export these
data in to a csv file. I checked in the event publisher, but I coudn't find
'csv' format there.

Regards,
