Re: [Dev] [C5] [APIM] [UUF] Dynamic URLs to static resources

2017-04-04 Thread Thilini Shanika
Hi Manu,

We used this URL pattern as a convention so that one can easily identify
the front end js file which is included in each page (Page: /apis/{apiID}/
and corresponding frontend js URL : public/js/apis/{apiID}/index.js)

Are there any drawbacks of using this? If there are drawbacks we'll fix
this.

@Chanaka & Kasun
Do you have anything to add?

Thanks
Thilini

Do you want to reduce the startup time?

In the standalone mode, you can start multiple MicroserviceRunners with
separate services. But in OSGi mode, you don't have such a feature. All the
microserices will get add to all the available registries (unless defining
a specific registry)

C5 uses HikariCP[1] in the carbon-datasources[2] implementation which
is dependent on a separate *-datasources.xml file to read configurations.

The problem Ishara has highlighted is the need for having separate
databases per a tenant. Due to this we cannot hard code the database name
in the datasources.xml. So a docker container needs be able to read
information such as the database name, user name, password via environment
variables and use these to update the datasources.xml before the product is
 started.

Is there an alternative to the above approach?

checkout tags/v5.2.1) and build it.

component. Checkout v5.2.1 tag from [1], build the component after making your
changes and apply the patch as instructed above.

I was wondering why dynamic URL's are used to server static content [1]. It
will prevent the browser caching them effectively and I don't see any

Can someone please explain

Re: [Dev] Create patch for IS

2017-04-04 Thread Godwin Shrimal
Hi Illia,

You can find all the feature related carbon components inside the
/repository/components/plugins directory, If you want to patch
existing component, you need to do what ever the changes, build it and put
into /repository/components/patches with patch number (with
format *patch*) and restart the server.
Ex.
  -repository
 -components
  -patches
 -*patch0999*
 -org.wso2.carbon.identity.sts.passive.ui-5.1.0.jar

If patch is applying correctly you can see a log in
/repository/logs/patches.log

Thanks

Re: [Dev] [C5] How to configure Data source configuration

2017-04-04 Thread Danesh Kuruppu
As Ishara mentioned, In C5 we are using deployment.yaml to configure all
the datasources. There is no default values coming with the bean class. If
a product needs datasources, those datasource configuration needs to
specify in the deployment.yaml. We can refer environment variables in
datasource configuration. we need to set the value like,

name:${env:}

This is still in the PR stage with kernel 5.2.0-M3.

Thanks

 Hi,

In the current architecture, we use master-datasources.xml to configure
 data sources.

But, with C5 effort we will need to dynamically load data source name
to support multi tenancy. Since each tenant will have it's own data source.

How are we going to support this?
Can we configure the data source in deployment.yaml to read data source
 name from an environment variable?

[Dev] [MSF4J] Is it possible to startup microservices parallelly?

Hi Devs,

For APIM 3.0, due to swagger to MSF4J generator generating microservice for
each path defined in swagger yaml, we are having nearly 15 micro services
currently and this will grow in future.

We are in the process of regrouping some microservice to one [1]. We wanted
to know, Can we boot microservice parallelly instead of sequentially?

Re: [Dev] [C5] How to configure Data source configuration

2017-04-04 Thread Uvindra Dias Jayasinha
C5 uses HikariCP[1] in the carbon-datasources[2] implementation which is
dependent on a separate *-datasources.xml file to read configurations.

 Hi Suho,

Going ahead with the proposal, few questions crossed my mind.

1. You mentioned previously that WSO2 DAS should also be
supported. What sort of interactions are expected with WSO2 DAS?
1. Should publishing events to WSO2 DAS from Python Siddhi API
   supported?
   2. Should deploying of Siddhi Queries to WSO2 DAS through
   Python Siddhi API be supported?
   3. Any other expectations?

[Dev] [C5] How to configure Data source configuration

2017-04-04 Thread Ishara Cooray
Hi,

In the current architecture, we use master-datasources.xml to configure
data sources.

But, with C5 effort we will need to dynamically load data source name to
support multi tenancy. Since each tenant will have it's own data source.

How are we going to support this?
Can we configure the data source in deployment.yaml to read data source
name from an environment variable?

Thanks & Regards,

Re: [Dev] IS: createApplication in IdentityApplicationManagementService doesn't return application ID

2017-04-04 Thread Illia Alifanov
Thank you for your help. Request works now.

I’d want return to the first question about creating service provider (SP) via
admin services.
Is it a good approach or we haven’t another:

1. Create service provider with Name and Description.

2. Get SP by Name and receive its ID.

3. Update SP (setup all settings).

Can you try commenting out the following section from the 1 example request ?

This is request for example.

http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/;
xmlns:xsd="http://org.apache.axis2/xsd;
xmlns:xsd1="http://model.common.application.identity.carbon.wso2.org/xsd;>

But I have the same result for any update app request.
I tried to send just this simple one and have the same error

http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/;
xmlns:xsd="http://org.apache.axis2/xsd;
xmlns:xsd1="http://model.common.application.identity.carbon.wso2.org/xsd;>

Can you share the update request you are using ? Also, if possible, can you
please try to update the created service provider through the management
console UI. If the app can be updated through the UI, it usually means that
there's an error in the update request.

Regards,
Omindu.
