Re: [Dev] WSO2 ESB Tracking Request-Response

2015-03-07 Thread Chamin Nalinda
Hi Aliosha,

I reckon you can use an Axis2 handler to match request and response. In
that case you have to write an Handler class extending AbstractHandler
class. There by try to analyse the SOAP Message and retrieve the necessary
information that you want.

You can find[1] as an example.

I reckon it should work.

 Hi Aliosha,

There is no straight forward way to do this.

You could generating a random number (using script mediator) and logging
it in the inSequence and outSequence,

However it will get mixed up when there are parallel requests. Meaning out
sequence log may not come right after the insequence log. But it'll be
 there.

I tried following the MessageID property printed in the insequence and
the out sequence of my proxies, but i realize, even if i'm not so sure,
that this property is different from one to the other.

So what's the way i could know which are the requests all the responses
 are connected with?

A potential problem we saw was in use cases where admin services were
consumed with APIM fronted. The correlation id has to pass through APIM -
IS as well. @Nuwan did a small fix on this to get it to work. The other
important matter is to actually visualize useful reports.

The example you gave is actually something that should be fed to CEP cause
most of the time - realtime action has to be taken on authentication failed
attempts. Below are some good use cases -

- All the actions performed by a user for time period
- All the actions performed by a user breaking down on sessions
- Authentication requests log segmented to time slices (how many
failed requests were sent in a minute)
- Client IP/hostnames that were used to perform authentication

 Cheers~

[Dev] Purpose of BAM Message Tracer

2014-12-21 Thread Chamin Nalinda
Hi all,

Can someone explain me $subject and how to integrate it with WSO2 IS. I
followed article [1] and I guess it is very much the similar with IS as
well. I need to publish IS data (request data and corresponding respond
data) to BAM and hoping to use BAM Message Tracer.

Re: [Dev] [Architecture] WSO2 IS Audit Dashboard

2014-12-21 Thread Chamin Nalinda
Hi Dulitha,

In the case of publishing data to BAM do you recommend using creating
custom data publisher to BAM as in [1] since Message Tracer is not for
internal massage monitoring.

Re: [Dev] Purpose of BAM Message Tracer

2014-12-21 Thread Chamin Nalinda
Hi Sinthuja,

Thanks for the explanation given. DulithaW also mentioned about the fact.

I will try to use a separate agent.

 Hi Chamin,

BAM message tracer mainly monitors axis2 services that is deployed by the
users; ie, axis2 services deplyed in wso2 as, proxy services, apis in APIM,
ESB, etc. And currently the admin axis2 service calls are ignored.
Therefore for IS, if you are planning to monitor the authentication admin
services, then current message tracing feature may not work, and you may
need to tweek that. But IMHO it will be better if you could have different
agent for this purpose, and extract all related information that needs to
analyzed in IS perspective rather trying to modify the message tracer as
both are actually focusing in different usecases.

 Thanks,
 Sinthuja

[Dev] [Architecture] WSO2 IS Audit Dashboard

2014-12-18 Thread Chamin Nalinda
Hi all,

I'm in the process of developing a dash board for WSO2 IS 5.0.0 .

In the first iteration, need to capture relevant information regard to
Authentication use cases. Below are some use cases.

Success/Fail login attempts during last hour ?
Success/Fail login attempts during last hour by user Peter ? etc...

The approach that is suggest, to co-relate requests and responses then feed
data to BAM. Then periodically retrieve data from BAM and display in IS
Audit Dashboard. BAM Message Tracer is one suggestion. And rather than
using Axis2 Handler to match requests and response using a separate class
is another suggestion.

I would like to have some ideas prior to begin ( the best approach, using
existing classes already there etc...)

Thanks in advance.

Before start building particular product in the chunk make sure you
have build all respective kernel patches. Refer [1] to know what kernel
patches need to be build for a given chunk. You can checkout kernel patches
from here[2]. For your case you should build patch 001 and 002. After that
try building from chunk. It should work.

However relevant documentation need to be upgraded mentioning that
users need to build kernel patches also. Praneesha fixed this in CEP
documentation. That change should reflect upon every product documentation
 under chunk releases.

Hi Tharindu,

I tried it, but still it remains. I found the following link[1]. I suppose,
this is because, I did *copy and pasting *the code (and did adjustments

Hi to Chamila and Amal,

Thanks Chamila for the explanation.

Amal, do I have to code manually? What are the recommended options if I
need to use a code that is available on web ?

When displaying code online, the formatters usually insert HTML tags and
other formatting characters. Create the projects and submodules using the
IDE and then insert the necessary repository and maven plugin information
 by hand.

Regarding your query, you are probably using the try it tool on DSS 3.1.1
is it? If so, it is a known issue.

There are issues reported against this. [1]
