Hi All,

I'm trying to get specific tenant id, *when tenant log into the system*.
For that , i have tried by implementing *AxisObserver* interface. As well
as i have debugged [1], which implemented AxisObserver interface. When i
was debugging this class's [1] init method ,I was able to see , it executed
only for supper tenant when starting the server. Its not executed when any
tenant log to the system.

How to detect any tenant login event ? . Please advice.

[Dev] Implementing UI for [taxonomy]

2016-03-11 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi All,

I'm currently implementing taxonomy feature [1] . Here we have to render a
tree structure in store view .I have tried with several tree structures
while implementing taxonomy UI for store side. If we implement horizontal
or vertical tree structures [2] with more nodes ,

   - we will have a usability issue. That is , If we have more nodes to
render, user interface will not have enough space to render those nodes.
Even we reduce the size dynamically, user will not able to see nodes
   clearly.
   - Another problem is , assets are rendering bellow to tree structure. So
when tree becomes larger, we will not able to see the assets results until
   we scroll down.

So my suggestion is if we render this kind of tree structure as drop down
tree [3] , It will more user friendly. As well as if we have more nodes we
can handle it by only scrolling drop down menu.

[Dev] Implementing REST API [Taxonomy]

2016-03-11 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi All,

Currently i'm implementing a REST API for taxonomy feature [1] . Its need
to render a tree structure in Store view. So we are providing REST api to
generate tree structure. We are reading XML file to generate this tree
structure. After discussion we decided to have following kind of REST API.

Get root node

GET

 apis/taxa

   -

This will return root node and its all children. (It will not return
grandchildren of root node) with pagination

Get sub nodes

GET apis/taxa?path=WSO2/Engineering

   - This will return all children nodes of given node. (It will not return
grandchildren of given node) with pagination

So, when implementing this scenario , AFAIK i have two solutions to
implement this. *To retrieve all child nodes of given node,* In back end
implementation,

   - Use this REST call (apis/taxa?path=WSO2/Engineering) , Then read the
query parameter and and convert it into correct xpath expression
(/WSO2/Enigneering/*). Then return the results with JSON response.

   - Other way is to use (apis/taxa?path=/WSO2/Engineering/*) . In here we
are directly allowing API user to pass the xpath. Then we create the
   generic response json object.

If we use 2nd method that is pass xpath directly, Our REST API will more
expandable. User will have wide range of queries to use. As well as in
future implementations, if we want to add some custom attributes to that
main XML file, we can do it without API level modification. But if we use
this, User who is using this api need to aware about xpath expressions.
However we always providing a documentation to use our apis. In
documentation we can provide general use cases.

*Question is : I don't know whether providing xpath as parameter in REST
API is a good practice or not.*

   1.

Re: [Dev] [Carbon] Adding user names with @ mark

2016-02-23 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi Darshana,

The Jira is about the carbon store login. That issue has solved from
jaggery side. Apart from the jira, If we use current GREG 5.1.0 pack, we
can add a new user from management console side with user name containing @
mark. But it should not allow to add user names with @ mark without
enabling the email user name. I was able restrict user names with @ mark by
changing regex to :

*[a-zA-Z0-9._-|//]{3,30}$ *
I'm not sure this is the best way to do this. Can you please advice.

[Dev] [Carbon] Adding user names with @ mark

2016-02-19 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi,

im working on this JIRRA https://wso2.org/jira/browse/REGISTRY-3249. While
working on this i was able to identify , admin user can add users ,
containing @ mark in user name *(Without enable EnableEmailUserName from
carbon.xml)* such as* a...@wso2.com <a...@wso2.com>.* I was tested with
GREG,ES,APIM also. I have able to identify that is problem with the regex .
GREG,ES,APIM has following property in *user-mgt.xml . *

*^[^~!#$;%^*+={}\\|,\'\"]{3,30}$*

If we change that into *[a-zA-Z0-9._-|//]{3,30}$ *Problem can
solve.

Current problem is : from where this user-mgt.xml comes into product. I
have checked with product-greg, carbon-kernal,carbon-indentity. Those
user-mgt.xml's content are different. Currently im trying to modify
user-mgt.xml for *GREG.*

Re: [Dev] Selenium UI Testing [GREG/ES - Publisher]

2016-02-10 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi All,

Thank you all for contribution. I was able to find two ways to solve above
main question, with our thread discussion. Generally in selenium,
driver.findElement() returns a type of WebElement, if there is such element
present. If there is no such an element it will throw an exception. To
overcome ,

1. we need to implement have separate method using
*driver.findElement(By.id("**identifier**"))*

https://github.com/wso2/product-es/blob/514b439c0b608bca4cca81f7c588a7dfeec598ad/modules/integration/tests-ui-integration/ui-test-utils/src/main/java/org/wso2/es/ui/integration/util/BaseUITestCase.java#L82

2. Next way is to use *driver.findElements(By.id("identifier")).size() . * This
method will return 0 (zero) even if such a element is not present. We do
not need to use try block here. It will not throw an exception.

Regards.

[Dev] Selenium UI Testing [GREG/ES - Publisher]

2016-02-09 Thread Lahiru J Ekanayake
Hi ,

I'm writing selenium tests for GREG publisher UI. When implementing UI test
cases, some situations we need to check whether some elements exists,
before click or make any operations on them.
Selenium provides, *driver.findElement(By.id("elemnt_id")) *
method to find any element by id. Problem is if that element is not exist ,
it will return an error, saying
*org.openqa.selenium.NoSuchElementException: Unable to locate
element:{"method":"id","selector":"elemnt_id"}*

Is there any way to check the existence of any element , without catching
the error? .

Hi ,

I have already tried with wait.until method. It will also return timeout
exception searching after given timeout. I think anyway we have to use try
block to check existences of an element. I have looked for a method that
returns ture/false on a given element existence . I'm not sure that kind of
method already in selenium.
Thank you for your help.
