Orphaned jwebunit

2019-05-12 Thread Raphael Groner
Hi,
the package jwebunit is orphaned. I don't use it any more and FTBFS.
Please feel free to take this package if you still think it's useful in Fedora.
Regards, Raphael

I'm afraid I still don't have a clue but I'd like to thank everyone who spent
time on this. As you can imagine I'm not eager spending time to debug some
failing test on a niche platform - but as my initial email led three devs to
spend some time I'll try a bit harder.

I think I saw the same test failing on x86_64 in a specific configuration.
Maybe I can get some insights from investigating that test failure on a more
common platform.

thanks again,
Felix

Great, thanks! You should be the main admin by now.
The package is in pretty good shape, other than failing tests with
python 3.8 (but you know that already),
and I noticed today that it's missing the trailing slashes for the
directories in %files.

Yeah. It's unfortunate.
But if I (and other users, too) get no reaction to bug reports for
months, what can we do? _shrug_

I'll take python-tomlkit. It is now bundled in pipenv but I'd like to unbundle
it if possible.

I originally packaged them because they are dependencies of poetry,
but because upstream is either indifferent or hostile towards
distribution packaging, and has ignored all my bug reports that are
blocking fedora packages, this is no longer happening.

Intent to orphan python-cachy, python-pylev, python-tomlkit

2019-05-12 Thread Fabio Valentini
I intend to orphan the cachy, pylev, and tomlkit python packages.

I originally packaged them because they are dependencies of poetry,
but because upstream is either indifferent or hostile towards
distribution packaging, and has ignored all my bug reports that are
blocking fedora packages, this is no longer happening.

If you want to take any of these packages, I'll gladly hand it / them over.

Otherwise, I will orphan them in about one week and send them towards
retirement, since no fedora packages depend on them yet.

Upgrade to Fedora 30 consistently corrupts bcache storage - is there some kind of emergency brake possible during upgrade?

2019-05-12 Thread Rolf Fokkens

Hi All,

There's this issue: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1708315

Would have been better if I discovered it during Alpha or Beta, but
unfortunately I didn't. Now we have the situation that any bcache user
upgrading to Fedora30 involuntarily currupts his storage.

I tried to limit the impact by using a %pretrans script in bcache-tools:

%pretrans
_bcache=`find /sys/block/ -maxdepth 1 -name "bcache[0-9]*" | wc -l`
[[ $_bcache -gt 0 ]] || exit 0
cat >&2 << EOF
bcache will likely corrupt Fedora 30 systems beyond repare.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1708315
EOF
exit 1

But this only blocks upgrading/installing bcache-tools. The rest
(including the kernel) is still upgraded so after a reboot the storage
will get corrupted anyway. Of course adding this to the kernel package
would do the trick, but I'm not sure if that is an option.

Any suggestions on how to save people from running into this are very
welcome!

Cheers,

Rolf
