It's likely broken by https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1931587
(the new guided bug form for fedora).

Can you file a bug like
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2189110 to ask that it be
added back? Or I can if you prefer...

We already include it in the rhel9-branch so I don't have a problem
adding it in rawhide. nvme seems to have become fairly popular so we
should at least include the basic tools :)

It looks like it amounts to these 2 commits:
f031f2850b3823fca0360ee9668702ab4139ec5f to add nvme-cli
0099d618be177325487d2c23ec2d8a765d03ba1d to remove machine specific files

Yeah, I too thought it was spam at first, but I think they are just

That's not available on an install image. dnf is there, but the RPM

Re: Fedora Copr builders updated to Fedora 38

RPM Sequoia's crypto policies can be configured, so you should be able to
re-enable SHA-1. However, this would be a global change, not only for
EL6... See
https://docs.rs/sequoia-policy-config/latest/sequoia_policy_config/#hash-functions

Kernel Bug Reports: Template broken?

2023-06-08 Thread Christopher Klooz

Hi,

I saw that some users filed kernel bug reports, which lacked
information. Then I wanted to check the kernel bug report template and
found out: there is no longer a template.

So in the past, once the component "kernel" was chosen, the user was
provided with a template of the bug report, which informed them about
what they should provide (e.g., dmesg).

Is it intended that there is no longer a template or is it broken for
some reason?

Live images, yes, but I don't think you can on the installer images, I
think the RPM database is actually stripped from them so deps won't
appear to be present.

I understand and support limiting what's added, but I think this should
be there given the "can't do this thing after install" effect. The flip
side is there are some things that are probably obsolete, like I can't
remember the last time I used a tape drive or PCMCIA card or even drive
that needed hdparm (but I know that always can devolve into arguments
rapidly). :)

I'll submit a PR.

Feature requests go to the upstream issue tracker.

It's spam - best to ignore, and hopefully the list maintainers
can delete the account.

I don't actually think it's spam, just a misunderstanding of how things
work. He initially posted the question under the libreoffice SIG thread.

I looked through the Urdu bits using
https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Naskh+Arabic and things
generally look okay. All the letters used in Urdu (~40, which is more
than ~30 used in Arabic) seem to be present. The text is legible and
readable. I tried a few punctuation marks and they are getting rendered
in a way I can read it.

lorax, but we do try to keep the installer environment as minimal as
possible. Technically the change is quite easy, you could submit it as
a PR - you just have to edit
https://github.com/weldr/lorax/blob/master/share/templates.d/99-generic/runtime-install.tmpl
, that is the recipe for creating the installer environment.

Requesting an addition to the install image

2023-06-08 Thread Chris Adams
Where is the proper place to request something be added to the install
image? I was going to file a BZ but wasn't sure of the proper
component.

I'd like to see nvme-cli (and libnvme, which it depends on) added to the
install image. I wanted to switch an NVMe drive to 4K sectors, which
reformats it, so I needed to do that before installing Fedora (or have
to install, change, then reinstall). It would be much more convenient
to be able to boot into rescue mode to do this.

No idea... the CI stuff was present before I started messing with Bodhi.
I think it was set up by CPE folks.

But... how does using podman would overcome the issue? As far as I know,
`docker` command in fedora is just a wrapper which runs podman. Doesn't
podman uses the same dockerfiles? Or maybe podman understands the 'FROM
fedora:rawhide' differently than docker (doesn't point to docker hub as
default)?

Fedora Copr builders updated to Fedora 38

2023-06-08 Thread Pavel Raiskup
Hello maintainers!

Copr builders have been updated to Fedora 38 today (some old builders
might still be running F37 ATM, but when they finish the task(s) they
work on, they will be deleted). Our testsuite is passing just fine, so
you _should_ be fine too :-). Please let us know if you have some
troubles.

There was one important change in Fedora 38 - RPM switched to the
Sequoia crypto backend. It refuses SHA-1 in crypto; which basically
disallows Mock to properly check EL6 GPG signatures. To allow further
builds, we switched to gpgcheck=0 for all epel-6 chroots. If you know a
better work-around, let me know.

Pavel

I used that for flatpaks I maintain for a while, but then removed it
because it was rather adding work than reducing it. But it could be
just my workflow.
I recommend anyone use https://release-monitoring.org/ which can send
you notifications of new versions of specified projects. Could be used
for any component maintenance including RPMs. I get notified and then
it's up to me when and how I act on it. You can build automation based
on it, too.

My biggest flatpak has 15 modules. Maybe if it had dozens like
LibreOffice I'd appreciate more automation.

Well, if this is caused by rpmautospec producing a file with unusual
permissions ...
It should be possible to retain the mode of the original spec file
somehow, and I'd report this as an RFE here:

Re: Orphaned packages looking for new maintainers

2023-06-08 Thread Akira TAGOH
I have no idea if Noto Sans Arabic or Noto Naskh Arabic is qualified
for Urdu and Punjabi. Even though they have minimal coverage in
fontconfig perspective, there might be minor differences which look
strange for native speakers like punctuation marks in CJK etc.

If we are going to change, we need feedback then.
For the last resort, I could take them over temporarily though, we
definitely need some help from Urdu/Punjabi communities.
