Pagure is still under active development. There was a flurry of commits in

I am wondering if we would be able to bundle the dependencies in accordance
with the guidelines[1]??? The salt folks are bundling the dependencies, could
we do the same (minus the python interpreter of course)??

Failing that, some folks on matrix were discussing just dropping the `salt-
master` package and building the rest the normal Fedora way. Does that seem
feasible?

I have set up copr repos for test-kitchen and kitchen-salt.[1][2] I am also
in the process of opening up bzs for review. I have a few questions regarding
embedded fonts in rdoc... Every rubygem seems to have this... Should I be
removing the font files from my specs now? See this thread[3].

I can move discussion to the ruby-sig if that is a more appropriate place to
have the embedded font discussion.

Hello Vit,

I have built all the components in my home lab, but I will set up a copr for
test-kitchen. I was trying to work my way up from the lower dependencies for
test-kitchen. This is why I started with logging, hashie, etc. I will open a
bug tracking ticket for this after getting everything loaded into Copr. All
total, test-kitchen looks to have 29+ dependencies to build.

I will also close https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2129584 since
this is already in ruby. I simply did a search in src.fedoraproject.org and
did not see this package. Sorry bout that.

I was not aware of fedora-create-review. Thank you for mentioning it.

Having deltarpms turned on by default would seem to make the most sense in the
IOT/Edge space, but in order to reap the most benefit these systems would have
to download the deltas daily.

I totally agree. If presented with only a text interface, I believe that new
Linux users would perceive the install experience as either too daunting or
not up to par with other distros.

Self Introduction: Robby Callicotte

2021-10-13 Thread Robby Callicotte via devel
Hello all,

I am a long time Linux user (Mandrake 7.0, Fedora Core) and I want to
contribute to the project.  As part of my dayjob, I build rpm packages with a
private koji instance as part of our internal deliverables pipeline.  I have
created a package for salt-lint, an ansible-lint like application for
SaltStack, and submitted a review on Bugzilla.  I also need a sponsor for some
guidance.

I look forward to the fun and the challenges.
