I wonder how you would react if someone was to speak of your work like this.

So please, watch your tone and keep the discussion constructive (which you did
later in the email). If you have constructive criticisms they are welcome, if
you just want to insult people or their work, you can do it behind closed door
where it won't bother anyone.

It happened when they switched to that JavaScript-infected møte mess rather
than just using plain static HTML that worked just fine.

The whole log is retrieved through JavaScript for some stupid reason I
cannot fathom. This cannot possibly work in a non-JavaScript browser like
lynx.

(By the way, the møte JavaScript also does not work in KHTML.)

s/meetbot/meetbot-raw/ in the links you see and you get the static HTML. (As
has been pointed out by others, there's also a plain-text version on
meetbot-raw, but the HTML version is also still available.)

You likely want:

https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting/2016-12-09/fesco.2016-12-09-16.00.log.txt

for the second of those. It might be good if this was listed when you
go to the other url and don't have "all the scripting" things
available.

Would you be able to file that request upstream?

It's a one-liner but indeed, oddly enough it is asking for auth while I can't
think of a good reason it should.

Going to fix this, thanks :)

It's the content at the URLs, not the URL itself (sorry if I didn't make
it clear). The agenda URL apparently wants me to authenticate with
OpenID, and the log URL just names the log (content in an IFRAME or
something maybe?).

These are the URLs I am testing:

https://pagure.io/fesco/report/meeting_agenda
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting/2016-12-09/fesco.2016-12-09-16.00.log.html

I know web devs love to use HTML5, CSS, and scripting to do all kinds of
fancy stuff, but a simple list of tickets and a plain text log dump
shouldn't require anything special.

The problems seems to be that the new meetbot m0te does not render a
page in lynx.

Going to the link just says:

fedora-meeting channel meeting logs - 2016-12-09

   fesco.2016-12-09-16.00.log.html

The same in elinks. It looks like we are relying on some HTML/CSS
magic which makes text browsers useless. Probably effects text2voice
readers for blind readers also.

Um... that sounds like a bug in mutt and/or lynx? The URLs that are
included are just standard URLs so there's nothing to fix from that
aspect.

So, this is a minor request...

I read email in mutt, a terminal-based mail client. I have it
configured so I can open up URLs in lynx easily. Recently though, I
can't open the agenda or logs from meetings in lynx. I don't know when
this happened (I don't try to pull them up all the time, just when I see
something that interests me).

Any chance this could be addressed?
