It would be an invaluable contribution to ship a snapshot debian
package into the community repository. It would probably make qt5 even
 more popular on Harmattan. :)

There's a repository with Qt5 packages based on the weekly snapshot
used by QtWebKit. Currently only the WebKit dependencies are packaged.

This is great!

I understand why that wiki page is at *.webkit.org but since this is
about running Qt 5 in Harmattan, wouldn't it be more useful to maintain
it at http://wiki.qt-project.org ? It will be easier to get there the
contributions from non-WebKit devs installing and running Qt 5 in their
devices.

The idea came when I was about to Tweet and G+ that URl and then I
thought that I could get questions and confusion from the crowd
following Qt 5 news with a N9 / N950 in their pockets.

Right, if the maintainers of that code feel it's more of a burden, then it's

I'd recommend as a compromise that we simply leave them there for the time
being.

Since the Harmattan API itself isn't getting updated, the code that interfaces
with that API should be reasonably stable. The team that wants to maintain the
Harmattan port can adapt to changes in the plugin API facing Qt if necessary.

It is still the best ARM device to play with, so I'm sure there will be people
interested in running their code there to ensure it works and has decent
performance.

Until a new device comes out.

regarding Tier 2 and Tier 3 platforms.

The only information I can find is from the Qt5-feedback mailing list
[1], but I don't know any further plans / actions, except Oswald and
Thiago pointed out Qt5 on Harmattan is still relevant [2].

Qt 5 in Harmattan is relevant to the Qt Project because Qt is deeply
integrated and the Nokia N9 is publicly available. Needless to say,
having platforms to develop and test Qt 5 is very important and
Harmattan offers an open platform for handset form factor.

Then could someone give some clarity to what scope Qt5 is supposed to
 be supported for Harmattan?

The Qt Project as such has no plans of *supporting* Qt 5 in Harmattan,
as the URL above explains.

Note that there're certain essential (sub-)modules requiring
Harmattan-specific back-end, e.g. bearer, PS, system info. Also,
many add-on modules from ex-mobility also require Harmattan-specific
back-end. Any one currently maintaining the code for Harmattan? Or at
least any volunteers? Any CI support under plan? If there's nobody
doing this, and no plan available, how can we keep Qt5 working on
 Harmattan?

There are some initiatives going on and it would be great if a decent
adaptation could come out of that. Some links:

Hi,

We (QtWebKit team) intent on testing and making sure that WebKit works
reasonable on the N9, but it is not a hard target for the release.

Instead what we are focusing on it providing a better QML view which comes with
most of the N9 browser features out of the box.
