The current help system is fully documented in the OOo2HelpAuthoring.pdf

Moreover, if we kept the current format, we could merge fixes and

integration, I think those are valuable for us.

On the other hand, though, a wiki help system would be quite a lot easier to

I'd say this content should exist in a web language, anyway, because LibO

Yes, but *please* there *must* be complete help available off-line. It's
not always that one can get to the net; and sometimes connections are
slow and/or expensive. There is really very little that is more
frustrating than to be told to connect to xyz.com for help with what
should be a purely local process such as editing a document. In a hotel
room for tomorrow's key meeting, for example.

Definitely.
All help files would just be HTML files and would be viewed in a browser.
That way, the online help and the bundled offline help would be kept in
sync, and a user could delete the help files from his hard drive to free up
space or choose not to download the files at all (much like you can choose
to download OOo with or without JRE).

I agree with the off-line help. We are constantly reminded that many
users have dial-up connections and that access to the internet can at
times be sporadic. Not only that, but the phones are tied up while the

Having one download for these users is probably the most efficient way
