Dear CRO,

I would like to nominate Rafael "raf" Roset as an OSGeo Charter Member
Candidate.

I have confirmation from his part to be nominated.

Raf is one of the most active members of the Geospatial community in
Catalunya and Spain and specially in the "geoinquiets"[1] (name of the
Barcelona local group).

He is also the main source of information for the "Ráfagas" [2] which
provides lots of interesting news about the geospatial world.

Hey isn't it cool enough to have an OSGeo list named after you!!!

Bests regards,

Pedro-Juan

Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] Fwd: Charter member nomination: Bogdan Grama

2016-07-18 Thread Codrina Maria Ilie

Honored, I second this nomination.

Bogdan is one of the most active members of the Romanian OSGeo local
chapter - geo-spatial.org - highly technical skilled who has brought
significant contributions over the time in our community, both in
knowledge, as in practice. And continues to do so.

Cheers,
Codrina

Dear CRO,

It is my great pleasure to nominate Bogdan Grama as an OSGeo Charter
Member. Bogdan is one of the pillars of OSGeo Romania and he is heavily
involved in our FOSS4G and open geodata activities. I'm convinced that
OSGeo would benefit from his technical qualities, his calm and passion
and dedication for free and open source software for geospatial.

Vasile

[OSGeo-Discuss] Proj4php community project

2016-07-18 Thread Julien Moquet
Dear OSGeo members,

As Jody tells me, I started to follow the
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OSGeo_Community_Projects guide lines in order
to help proj4php become an osgeo community project.

The project is geospatial, opensource LGPL, hosted on github. The initial
source come from a translation of proj4js.

Best Regards,
Julien.

I believe so,
"2. An existing charter member can nominate potential new Charter
Member(s)." - https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Membership_Process

If you have someone who you think should be a charter member, and you
aren't one, you should find a charter member to submit the nomination.
Chances are you know one who you could ask.

Dear CRO,

I would like to nominate Mirko Cardoso as an OSGeo Charter Member.

Mirko Cardoso is an active member of Open Source for Geospatial and
participated in the development of several projects using FOSS4G
technologies, in the field of virtual tours [1], intermodal freight
transport decision support system [2] and QGIS plugin for water management
[3].

He's an active developer of the istSOS [4] project and is mentoring a
Google Summer of Code student for the same project.

The FOSS4G technologies include Openlayers, PostGIS, pgrouting and QGIS.

I strongly believe he deserves to become an OSGeo Charter Member.

All the best,

Marco

Dear colleagues,

Just one month after the successful FOSS4G UK conference, our colleagues in
