Logitech is a public company based in Switzerland (audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers) that issues financial statements and other documents. In total, sales income for all logitech products was 2.2 Billion in 2009 (786 million for the Americas only). Retail audio sales were 445 million worldwide (about 20% of total sales revenue). Of course this includes more than just squeezeboxes. http://tinyurl.com/yhf4nfs http://tinyurl.com/yfasyhv -- garym garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76758 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I've uploaded a few binaries built against the latest portaudio development library for users to try. The 0.9-133 release uses different library snapshot versions on different OS platforms. I need to bring all OS releases to the same library level for easier maintainability. In the past users have reported issues with audio devices not listed with the newer snapshots. The downloads below are for these platforms that I'd like additional feedback. ie. I don't have the necessary hardware to properly test the changes. [slim] Another Catastrophic SB Failure
Well, catastrophic for me anyway... My Linksys WRT54GL router failed early this week. I just got a replacement. I am using the Linksys firmware. I have just spent 4 hours trying to get my system back up, and I can only get one Boom playing. I'm running the SB system in my signature. My router has the same SSID and password as the old one. I have set wireless security settings through many permutations. The setting with which I get the one Boom to connect is with WPA-Personal (TKIP). However, the Radio, the other Boom, and the Duet report WPA2-PSK encryption when I run the Diagnostics selection. I cannot figure out how to make them aware of the new encryption. Re: [slim] DSBridge - A simpler way to stream Spotify
I have just managed to get a direct connection between my laptop and squeezebox, without having to run it through squeeze centre server software. I am now using DSBridge streaming through squeezenetwork , and thought I should share it back, as it says a few times on this thread that this is not possible. When you add the stream to your favourites in squeezenetwork / mysqueezebox.com you need to add #slim:noscan=1 to the end of the URL. So for me, I have 192.168.1.101:8124/#slim:noscan=1 The DSBridge software only seems to support one stream at a time. Squeezenetwork tries to connect to validate the stream before playing, which is tricky with internal IPs. It also creates a couple of streams, which seems to break dsbridge. Small positive fractions result in fading mostly at the end, so you might get something like what you want by manually setting the SleepFade rate preference to something like 0.01. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76760 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Listening to different tracks at once
I don't yet own a SB but am looking into it. I use a Mac and in the first instance I want to put my music library on an external hard drive attached to the Mac. If i have several SBs around the house, each can be used to listen to a different music track at the same time. But does this requite a particularly fast HD to work? Will most reasonably modern HDs cope? Also, if the Mac goes to sleep, will the SB be able to wake it when requirred? Re: [slim] Listening to different tracks at once
yes, each SB can listen to it's own song selection (even though the songs are in a single library controlled with the SqueezeboxServer software). Or you can Synch one or more players to play the exact same song with exact timing. Any basic computer, even certain lowpowered NAS products, can deal with this, you should have no issues with the MAC. There are ways to make WOL (wake on lan) work, but I just leave my server on 24/7. -- garym garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76777 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Listening to different tracks at once
Thank you, that's really helpful. As regards the 'waking' issue, I do leave my Mac on 24/7, but of course it goes to sleep when not used for a while. I wouldn't want to not have it sleep after a period of use. In the longer term, I think I would put a dedicated server for the music collection into the network. Thanks again. OK... I strongly recommend having your computer that serves as the music server (running SbS) WIRED. Otherwise streaming music will require multiple WIFI hops. Not usually a good idea. Re: [slim] configure sleep mode fade-out time
Thnkns for your answer. I have looked at it but it just doesn't help me at all, I'm afraid. Here is a quote from your description: Because of Slimserver's built-in last minute fade-out code, SleepFade is configured not to fade the volume when an end of this song timer is in use. which is exactly what I need in order to get the desired cue effect. ('cue' means: stop playing after this title ends. Used to be on every halfway decent cd player's remote.) Do you think there is a chance to expand the plug-in to provide this functionality? tia, Thomas -- tawulf tawulf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35826 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76760 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I was going to suggest that you may have tried to reuse the power supply. I've almost jumped on an apparently dead WRT54G only to eventually realise ( more than once ), that the culprit is a dead power supply. If you have the option just double check that on your dead router! tawulf;530074 Wrote: ('cue' means: stop playing after this title ends. No changes in volume, just stop after the current title ends. Ah, thanks. You'd need a different plugin for that. I'm not sure how easy it'd be -- in the past (*years* ago), I found it tough to make a plugin notice exactly when there was a song transition, though there has been an official newsong notification message for a while. If that mechanism has improved, it might be pretty easy to do. But it might be easier to modify the core SBS source to make it do what you want. If your code is clean and makes fade-vs-cue an option, I think Logitech might consider adopting your code. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76760 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Web Interface Title Format
Currently I am struggling with the following problem. I try to display the following format in the web interface: TRACKNUM - ARTIST - TITLE But when I change it to these parameters in Server/Interface/Title Format it does not display it properly. The Interface always displays something like Tracknumber - Artist - Title from Artist. How can I get rid of from Artist? If I change it to only TITLE it even gets worse. Then it displays Title from Artist by Artist. But I dont want to have anything besides Title. Did I miss anything? I tried searching without success. Ok, right. I just tried it. I think in your first post you said TRACKNUM - ARTIST - TITLE from ARTIST but I think you meant TRACKNUM - ARTIST - TITLE from ALBUM There's some logic somewhere that adds ARTIST and ALBUM if they're not already in the title format. I believe the thinking behind this is that the playlist may be made up of tracks from different albums and artists, so the information should always be included. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76779 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Also in regards to a stacked artist view like photos on the ipad. If you can't get artist pics can you just present the stack of that artist's album covers that exist on SBS?
