Re: [slim] Embeded Artwork vs File
Do you know the logic by which SBS selects the album art to show for one album? In 7.5 SBS selected the album art for the very first track in the album. This is no longer the case with 7.6.2. For singles compilation albums I embedded singles artwork in each track and made a very short dummy track 00 with the artwork for the compilation itself. The artwork from the first dummy file was shown in unfiltered album lists in 7.5.6, now with 7.6.2 some seemingly random artwork is shown. -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.6.2 (r33496) on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90652 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] SqueezeBox control app for the HP Touchpad
Is there a way to quickly jump to a letter of the alphabet when scrolling through the 'artist' list like you can with an ipod? I know I can bring up the keyboard and start typing but it's a bit cumbersome and doesn't 'take' me to a particular point in the list, it only lists artists with those particular sequence of characters. For example, if I type 'pi' i get about 5 artists and I can select 'Pink Floyd'. If I then decide I want to listen to 'Primal Scream' I need to bring up the keyboard and type 'pr' rather than just being able to scroll down from where I currently are in the 'artist' list. Does that make sense? If that's how it works then fair enough, just thought I'd ask incase ther eis something I haven't set up correctly. thanks. -- killie99 AVI Lab series, Impulse H2's, Touch, Eastern Electric Minimax DAC, SB3, Boom and another Boom killie99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8337 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88567 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Yes it makes sense and no there is currently no way to do that. I don't think it is actually feasible to do exactly what you want. The main reason is that the lists are loaded incrementally as needed, so searching has to be done by the server and there's no way to get the search to return the item position instead of a list of found items. The closest to what you're suggesting is probably something that iPeng for the iPhone/iPad has which I think they call a jump list. It's basically a vertical list of letters on the side of the main list. When you tap a letter, the main list jumps to the section with item names that start with that letter. I'm considering making that an option in a later update, but no guarantees. I don't really like that solution cause it makes the lists look too cluttered. -- wt0 -- SqueezeControl for webOS, http://www.angrygoatapps.com wt0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18760 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88567 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

dasmueller;660330 Wrote: ...Netgear WNR2000v2...2nd floor ...Touch on the 1st floor If you have a vertically polarized dipole antenna, then any antenna gain comes from reducing vertical spread for horizontal. For example, a single-pint (theoretical) antenna would broadcast a perfect sphere. Typically there's some gain, and the more there is, the more the top and bottom of that sphere are shaved off and the sphere starts to look like a cylinder. So, yeah, tilting your antenna on it's side will change where that cylinder goes. Sadly, you also change polarization a bit (things work best when the antennas are polarized the same). You can also put a reflector on the antenna (plenty of info online) or, if your router has removable antenna(s) you can get an aim-able antenna (panel/plate or parabolic - or even yagi, but I haven't seen an indoor one) and just, well, -aim- it at your target. Re: [slim] audiocd.iso.wv file, how to play it?
You'll have to convert it to something the squeezebox can deal with. The squeezebox can deal with WavePack (wv) files, but not iso. Here's an article that may help: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=79456pid=694634st=25#entry694634 I would suggest using something like foobar2000 to convert the WavePack file to wave. Then you can use something like 7zip or WinRar to extract the contents of the ISO file - which will probably be individual wave files. Then, encode these files to FLAC for playback on your system. Basically, this iso.wv formatting is VERY unconventional and it will be an uphill battle for you if you keep it in that format. -- maggior Rich - Setup: 2 SB3s, 4 Booms, 1 Duet, 1 Receiver, 1 Touch, iPeng on iPod Touch. Earlier I spoke of getting powerline adapters to get a signal to the basement. My thought today is to use an Atom based netbook to run my 1 TB HDD and connect it to the 1st floor Touch and then move the netbook and HDD to the basement and connect to a 2nd Touch when desired. Is this logical, am I looking at significant lagtime when making the move and reconnecting given that neither Touch would then have internet access.
