Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
Hi, I have set up VPN on my Windows 7 (SBS) PC and my Android device connected instantly and SqueezePlayer pickedup the connection as well, streaming works over 3G. Very easy. But Squeezecommander seems to have a problem connectiong through this VPN connection(I know it's not your software). Strange thing is, I can connect to SBS via webbrowser using the (internal) IP-adress that I can see in SqueezePlayer. But using the same IP-adress in SqueezeCommander doesn't work. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
With the free Logitech App out there I don't think there really is a growing market and porting something so heavy on UI as iPeng would mean a complete re-write. I hope flattermann shows up again (I'm actually somewhat concerned about this being something serious, too), his App still has the best basis for something good on Android and I believe he also already put quite a bit of work into a tablet version. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'm a little old fashioned when it comes to tweeters made of metal (unless they are ribbons.) I'd find them in a store and have a listen but I would be sure to have all the other speakers they're likely to have them connected with off. (Figuring out how to do that on a multichannel receiver might take a while.) Yamaha equipment tends to be well made and they are the only 'mid-line' maker that still rates their amps at 20 to 20 rather than test tone at 1K. I haven't seen any Yamaha speakers in a Best Buy for a while, which is a good sign since all the stuff BB and Circuit City sell is made specifically for them. Re: [slim] wireless vodoo
There should be some kind of setting that lets you pick between - BG (default) - B only - G only Usually this is under 'setup' or 'wireless setup' somewhere. That said, I'm not sure this makes much difference when there isn't a B device. I -would- switch to channel 1 (the lower the frequency, the better a signal passes through solid objects). It's not much a frequency difference, so not much change, but it's free and easy. If your router has removable antennas, get a replacement with as low a dB rating as you can find (change the cylinder back to a sphere). You might also do fine with a repeater. Cheapest way to get one is to buy a dd-wrt capable router, but this requires some technical know-how (or a friend with same). -- bobkoure bobkoure's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14646 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90640 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Old Radio Shack 15-2117 JP1 remote is the most used. Always laying around nearby, big backlit buttons, controls every device in my living room (eight so far). Can skip through long lists by pressing the keypad T9 style. Next would be SqueezePlay if I'm on my computer. SqueezeRemote on Windows Phone 7 if I'm in another room or want a better browser than my IR remote. The main problem is that it takes a few seconds to unlock the phone, start the app, etc. Usually easier to grab the remote. -- DrewSB DrewSB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=26817 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86866 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
