SqueezePlayer is able to stream all your music via 3G. See my blog about how to that this up: http://www.squeezeplayer.com/2011/05/how-to-connect-via-3g/ One uses SqueezeCommander to browse the music-library and to create the playlist. Wouldn't work with the Logitech App, as only SqueezeCommander can connect via 3G as well (by manually configuring a remote server). -- bluegaspode Did you know: *'SqueezePlayer' (www.squeezeplayer.com)* will stream all your music to your Android device. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
Can anyone comment if it is "SqueezePlayer-safe" to update to the new MediaServer v. 7.7? @bluegaspode - have there been any more developments on the Google TV front? With the official 3.1 update going out to users, I think there will be renewed interest in a working version of SqueezePlayer. I'm not sure if it'll be of much help, but I came across a couple of threads discussing the considerations when compiling native code for Google TV: http://forum.gtvhacker.com/revue-development/topic293.html http://forum.gtvhacker.com/revue-development/topic265.html Of course, I'm willing to help test on my Revue if need be. I'm currently running the leaked 3.1 and can side-load apk's. -- jm9843 jm9843's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18061 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87364 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Logitech Media Server
Issues with the upgrade: 1. When I upgrade my server software, it forgets all the settings on my Squeeze devices (I have 7 of them). It is particularly annoying to have to redo the menu items every time, especially because the interface is so very sucky. Why can't the menu items scroll? I.e., when an item is at the bottom, why won't the down arrow put it at the top? Or better yet allow drag and drop to rearrange them? 2. On OS X Lion, the preferences pane said there was an upgrade available, but after 2 tries, it did not install. 3. Why change the server name yet again? This caused me to uninstall the old version on my Linux machine, which might have killed the preferences in #1 above. But in /etc/init.d, it still seems to be called squeezeboxserver. I spent some time looking for a different name... 4. It would be really good to give us some instructions on how to take advantage of mew features, and what they are. The release notes are useless for this. Like what is MOG? What does "Connect to Logitech media Server" do? If the squeezeboxserver is now exposed as a Media Server, What hardware/software can I use to access it this way? Do I need to open new firewall ports? I'd suggest just try the new router in it's stock configuration, see if it works. Most home network users never need to mess with ports etc.. If it is an issue with the new ISP/modem/router come back here and it will get sorted. I've been through three ISP's with five different modems and two different routers (latest router with two different firmwares) and I've never once had to mess with ports for SqueezeBox usage. The current version works ok, and it will probably never leave the current Beta state. I thought about putting it in the Market, but the the are too many prerequisites (no HTC phone, Receiver must be connected via LAN...), i.e. it will not work for many people out-of-the-box. Therefore, I would probably get a lot of support requests, and in the end get a bad rating.
