What about an > internet radio stream (just to test another type of mp3) ? Hi bluegaspode, thx for your fast response ! In fact when I tried a few things yesterday I saw that it was not working anymore on my Ipad either. So I thought it was a router issue. I had the port 3483 routed but in both tcp and udp. When I deleted the UDP port rerouting it worked like a charm. So even if the ALAC is transcoded, the QNAP is fast enough to play tunes and to be gapless. Thx for the response, it was not crystal clear that the port 3483 was to be opened in TCP. If I were you I would just uninstall Avast and try a different AV program. Avast may be free, but the latest version is a terrible resource hog. I have had to remove it from about five PCs around my family circle that I had installed it on about three years ago (when it was a simpler program). This is because it was bringing them all to a grinding halt. Once Avast was removed everything was fine and dandy. So far I have failed to find a decent "light" alternative to Avast, but because all the PCs sit behind NAT router based firewalls and the e-mail is pre-scanned with AV software at the ISP end before delivery, the risk of virus infection is negligible. Spyware is taken care of with Windows Defender, and Thunderbird deals with spam and "phishing" e-mails pretty well. The only time that you are significantly at risk of a virus infection or hack attack that needs a -software- solution is when you are using a laptop in a public environment such as a wi-fi hot spot or when you are collecting your e-mail from a provider that does not pre-scan for viruses. -- TheLastMan Matt http://www.last.fm/user/MJL-UK *SqueezeBoxes:* SB Duet (Controller + two receivers) *Server:* Synology DS107+ (500GB) NAS running LMS 7.7.0 on SSODSmod 4.14 *Network:* Netgear DG834GT ADSL modem/router, 2 x Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 as access points *Livingroom:* Receiver into Naim 42/110 amp, B&W CM2 speakers *Kitchen:* Receiver into Denon DM37 mini-system, B&W 686 speakers *Study:* Linn LP12, Naim 72/Hi-cap/Headline. I assume the *n/3* are copy/paste errors? The zones feature has never worked for me either, that's part of the reason I didn't include it in the last release. I suspect what's happening is the output device uses a format other than 16-bits which is correctly assumed by the zones patch as it is the only format supported by squeezeslave. I'll need to investigate further to be sure. -- ralphy Ralphy *1*-Touch, *4*-Classics, *2*-Booms, *12*-Squeezeslaves 'Squeezeslave' (http://code.google.com/p/squeezeslave/) 'donations' (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=LL5P6365KQEXN&lc=CA&item_name=Squeezeslave¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donate_SM%2egif%3aNonHosted) always appreciated. ralphy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93607 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Remove -DUSE_SIGNALS_FOR_RESTART from the CFLAGS in makefile.linux26-i64-alsa-display and rebuild Code: make -f makefile.linux26-i64-alsa-display clean make -f makefile.linux26-i64-alsa-display 2. Run squeezeslave, any build, adding -dslimproto to your existing command line. Report the line that starts with proto_sigpipe: Mine looks like Code: proto_sigpipe: MSG_NOSIGNAL I expect yours to be different. I'll have further suggestions based on the reported MSG. -- ralphy Ralphy *1*-Touch, *4*-Classics, *2*-Booms, *12*-Squeezeslaves 'Squeezeslave' (http://code.google.com/p/squeezeslave/) 'donations' (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=LL5P6365KQEXN&lc=CA&item_name=Squeezeslave¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donate_SM%2egif%3aNonHosted) always appreciated. ralphy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93607 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I always use that app. > > Thank you. When a player is not synced, it definitely should not speed up or down or pop. Are you sure you removed it from every sync group? Unsynced the player will just stream as much data as it has, if there is a buffer underrun, it will stop the music for a short while to refill the buffer, much like known from a Squeezebox. This wouldn't ever result in popping but a very clear short pause? And if it still speeds up or slows down this rather sounds like a broken soundchip? Can you please watch the buffer fillrate of SqueezePad on the main screen, when these things happen? What numbers do you see there typically? Are you running stock firmware or a custom modification on your Droid? And finally the delays: I think you misinterpreted the settings: if you are setting up a delay, the server thinks that the playback device has this delay in its audio chain. So it actually delays all other (!) synced players so that they are still in sync with the one delayed device. So it would be expected behaviour, if SqueezePlayer starts before all others if you've set up a delay. -- bluegaspode Did you know: *'SqueezePlayer' (www.squeezeplayer.com)* will stream all your music to your Android device. Sorry it took me so long to respond. It doesn't seem to be a problem with syncing at all. When I set the droid X by itself, the spotify songs continue to pop and randomly speed up and slow down. One sync issue that I just noticed is that the squeeze player does not accept commands to delay start playing music. The squeeze player always starts first, now matter the settings. I have set Droid X settings for: start delay and Audio delay to 1000ms and even set the Synchronized Players Startup Delay to 1000ms. The player does not accept those commands. the player always starts immediately before the rest of the radios. I can live without the droid X being synced, but hopefully the Spotify issue can be corrected. I always use that app. Thank you. -- TheDrizzle TheDrizzle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=54829 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87364 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
