Re: [slim] Duet Tempermental again...
Since no other device has ever complained about the wireless routers (and I have had 3 different ones sincde the Duet was caled top duty), no, it is the Duet, not the wireless access point. pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95660 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Help with Pandora (& apps in general)
There are two critical steps that you have not mentioned. One, you need to go www.mysqueezebox.com, login to your account, and then enter your username and password credentials for every app that requires them, such as Pandora. Two, you need to go to LMS on your server, and enter your mysb.com login credentials under Settings > mysqueezebox.com. After that you should be fine. aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95675 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
Hi Stefan, I have a large collection of MP3s and some AACs in ITunes but there is no pattern regarding what is playing at the time. I am using the Logitech server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893 I'm not normally so dense on these things but I can't see an error log in the server panel. I am running the server on a macbook btw. Re: [slim] What is missing from your Squeezebox experience ?
Thanks for the tips about searching. I don't have an IOS device so I don't get to try iPeng, and I don't have a windows machine, so I don't get to try museo. As for why LMS search is inadequate for my needs, I see that I have posted previously about this: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?85325-Search-algorithm Basically, one and the same piece might be labelled "Brahms: Quintet for Piano and Strings" on one album, "Brahms: Klaverquintett" on another, "Brahms: Piano quintet" on another, etc. The performances might be found on albums with titles like "Brahms and Schumann: Piano Quintets", "Brahms chamber works", etc. LMS search is not capable of finding these (say at the cost of also finding just a few other things). The search "Brahms quint" will find all of them (as well as Brahms quintets for other instrument combinations) on iTunes. That is why I often resort to searches on iTunes before playing something via LMS. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94987 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Help with Pandora (& apps in general)
Looking for some assistance with an issue I've had ever since I set up my Squeeze Box Classic. I've had a really good experience with my Squeeze Box other than running apps. I've tried numerous times over the past few years and have yet to resolve it. My problem lies with running apps. Using Pandora as an example. I've got an active Pandora account; I run it flawlessly on my Iphone, Ipad, and PC. However it's a different story with my SqueezeBox. I get the app loaded without a problem, however when I go to play it, I get no audio and it appears to time out. More speciffically, when I hit play, it loads in the Logitech Media Player window and beginning to run. Everything appears fine but no sound. It will run for approximately 9 secs without audio before advancing to the next track. I've tried numerous apps, always with the same results. Like I mentioned earlier, no problem playing music files or internet radio, just these third party apps. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. rantsc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95675 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announcing SqueezePad - the first dedicated iPad App to controll your SqueezeBoxen !
Hi Peter, I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with the playback. I'm not sure if problem is based on authentication- this has been a rather old problem fixed already. - what type of music (file format) are you trying to play? - did you try a server restart already (what type of server do you have?) - did you check the servers error logs. Anything interesting in there? That is unless they fear the same mistake they made with the Google TV. autopilot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1763 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95629 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Duet Tempermental again...
I seemed to always have these intermittent connection problems, and also assumed it was the Duet. A few weeks ago the router itself gave out completely, and I had to replace it. The Duet has performed flawlessly ever since. I have to wonder whether the router was marginally flaky all along, and the Duet was sensitive enough to "care", given that it was older technology. Whatever the case, it's nice to have everything working the way it should! kc5f's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19652 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95660 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] The Google Squeezebox: Nexus Q
They need to drop the integral amplifier for starters. Total waste of space for most people and just adds to the cost. They also need to let people stream their own media collection from their own DLNA servers. Plus they should support third party services like Napster/Rhapsody, Spotify, Last.fm etc. And of course let people put things like a Squeezebox player app on there :-) As it is, it just looks like an expensive copy of AppleTV with some un-needed extra hardware features. slimfast's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29669 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95629 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I am not *that* > old, but I feel my way of listening to music (relatively high end > *stereo* system in a dedicated environment) relegates me to dinosaur > status. :) Very much agree. I run my main Squeezebox system with an old QNAP NAS and the endless upgrading of Slim Server/ Squeeze Center/ Squeezebox Server/ LMS/ whatever they are calling it this month has caused me many headaches. I can't say I've ever noticed any major improvements with any of the upgrades but they did frequently break the system and leave me without music, in some cases for weeks until I could get the time to figure out how to fix things. The only ones that were worthwhile were when I needed to do so to access a specific service, like when Napster was taken over by Rhapsody. Whereas the open nature of the system where you roll your own server hardware is flexible, they probably should have got something like the Squeezebox Touch with it's integral server capabilities out much earlier (only with beefier processor power). Then you could buy the Touch as the initial player and base the rest of the system around that. slimfast's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29669 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95603 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

"both" - there is only one setting to change so you have another problem - go back to what I told you to change - only the MPEG-4 / MP4 setting.
