[slim] Original Squeezebox and Support
I have just dusted off an original Logitech Squeezebox that has been in storage for a few years. I have read on the internet that Logitech no longer support this. I would like to know if there is a way of using this to stream music from my pc using an android tablet or smartphone and what software is available. I have searched this forum but cannot find the info. I am sure the question has been asked already so can someone point me to the thread. [slim] Make a squeezebox kids compatible?
Hi, has anybody an idea how to make the squeezebox kids compatible. What i think about is: - lock a player to a specific path for own music - remove all menu items except album flow / list - lock the player setup with a pin code or remove it I already tried the search, multi library and virtual library from LMS 7.9 but i was not successful in archieving my goal. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
Hi there again! The Request Tracker URL does not work (http://www.squeezecommander.com/trac/), so I post it here: A function to put all favorites into the current playlist would be nice. iPeng has it, you can just play all favorites. This is very handy. Just in case the much appreciated developer Chr. Flattermann still may add something... Would it be an option to make it open source in order to have a community develop it? Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android
Hi there! When I open a favorite from within Squeeze Commander, the song will not play. When I just touch the favorite, nothing happens. When I touch longer, a new window appears, showing the song title and the path of the file on the server hard disk. Any ideas? I use LMS 7.8.0, and according to the Google market page, Squeeze Commander supports only up to Version 7.7. May this be the problem...? I hope that there is a solution to this. Thanks for any reply! Diego P. S. I hope this Forum and the App are still supported... or at least some community around helping out with experiences! Apart from that, Squeeze Commander is just simply the best front end for the LMS, far better than iPeng or others, imo. And LMS/squeezebox is the best and most convenient solution for high quality hifi streaming. Therefore I have no intention to change to something else... I hope there is a solution. 17175 +---+ |Filename: screenshot_2015-01-18_1247.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=17175| +---+ diego's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40897 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox dead or still going strong elsewhere?
Justme wrote: Well, I have been plodding along with my Squeezeboxes for many years now. A SB2, Radio and Boom, all on the server software used here (not the new one from Logitech). Generally speaking, I have always been rather happy, as the devices cover the main bases I require: * Internet radio - with 6 presets on the front of the Boom (It is surprising how hard that is to find). * Access to my extensive music library from the NAS (and access from all devices either separately or synced together). * Spotify access (although this is a tad limited and not very well integrated). * Control via the iPad (I use iPeng). I love it, but there are a couple of issues: * I get odd buffering problems with the radio, which shouldn't be as I have a 50mb line and can happily stream live HD TV at 3600kbps from other countries, or Netflix 1080p at 6000kbps*. * My old SB2 is about to give up the ghost. The second problem is where I consider it all quite serious. I would like to replace this, but am I correct that Logitech do not make the Squeezebox range any more? * One of the reasons I never switched over to the new firmware and server was because of my SB2, but if I did find a modern replacement, would I be better off switching over? The problem is, I never see any real alternatives on the market out there that has everything the Squeezebox's had. A lot of people talk about Sonos, but they don't seem to have a Boom with the presets that work so well with Internet Radio, not something simple like the SB2 with a nice display showing what is currently playing. Is there anything out there that compares to Logitech's Squeezebox ecosystem with the features I need? By the way, I've been with the Squeezebox for nearly 10 years, and if I could, I'd rather stay :) (Oh, and finally, I would have loved the Squeezebox to accept AirPlay - but I know this can't happen) As for rebuffering. Try to set streaming through PROXY. This helps in many cases. I can stream wimp-hifi (flac streaming) without any rebuffering. Also wireless.17174 +---+ |Filename: proxysettings.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=17174| +---+ Callesoroe Living room: Transporter, Tact RCS 2.2X digital preamp, Martin Logan Vista speakers, AMPS(Icepower): Acoustic Reality Ear Enigma PLUS(PANELS), Acoustic Reality Ear TWO MKII(Bas) Kitchen: Transporter, Prodipe Pro 5 active bi-amp speakers. Re: [slim] Squeezebox 2015 - Is the Squeezebox Universe Expanding of Shrinking?
Currently, i use lms and a bunch of squeezeboxes (5 x radio, 1 x boom, 2 x receiver) for my family so that every child can access napster. The speciality is that the account is accessed via mysqueezebox and lms. Will this work if mysqueezebox.com may shut down? Without streaming service, the whole squeezebox-system would not work for me? With spotify only one squeezebox can access the streaming service at one time. That would be a nogo for a family entertainment system. how would deezer and wimp work without mysqueezebox.com? Followup to previous post... So after a few package updates on my machine, a reboot, and different Squeezebox devices on my network, I decided to try again. Now, there is no crash, but the discover function works intermittently -- sometimes it discovers and sometimes it doesn't (that's OK I guess, it's using UDP right?); and the list function displays an error while trying to printf the results: UDAP discover info: Broadcasting adv_discovery message to MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00 on 255.255.255.255 UDAP list #MAC AddressType Status == = == === UDAP discover info: Broadcasting adv_discovery message to MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00 on 255.255.255.255 info: adv_discovery response received from 00:04:20:1b:0b:cd info: Broadcasting get_ip message to MAC address 00:04:20:1b:0b:cd on 255.255.255.255 info: Broadcasting get_data message to MAC address 00:04:20:1b:0b:cd on 255.255.255.255 UDAP list #MAC AddressType Status == = == === Use of uninitialized value in printf at /m/home-eric/bin/Net-UDAP/net-udap.git/trunk/scripts/../src/Net-UDAP/lib/Net/UDAP/Shell.pm line 480, FIN line 14.
