I had already tried to disable the 5gz network and I don't have a
separate Guest network, unfortunately.

Well, it's actually an android phone and a Windows 10 pc. But it didn't
help deleting the network and rebooting, unfortunately :(

Re: [slim] iPeng - Player disappeared into the MySqueezebox hole...

2017-04-01 Thread pippin

Yes, it's a bit problematic.
iPeng doesn't really have a good way to determine, whether it's already
registered on MySqueezebox.com (MySB manages that, not iPeng) and if
it's not, as soon as you send a player there iPeng can no longer see it.
If you register iPeng on MySqueezebox.com it will see the player there,
too, and you can pull it back.

Re: [slim] iPeng - Player disappeared into the MySqueezebox hole...

2017-04-01 Thread M7CC

I haven't done that (or at least I don't think so) because I never had
any need to. But I was able to see MySqueezebox.com in Other Music
Sources. If I touched it, it would let me choose which player to send
there (or cancel). But whatever I did initially -- my SB2 wasn't there
to choose and point to the local network. It was just gone.

What I ended up doing was pulling the plug on the Squeezebox2, then when
it restarted, pressing the right arrow within a few seconds to enter
setup. That allowed me to choose the local LNS server. Not the most
elegant solution but at least I'm back to "normal" & can see it in iPeng
as well.

Looks like you have not registered iPeng on MySqueezebox.com.
You can change this using the "i" behind MySqueezebox.com in iPeng.

Does this help?

Does your router have a guest network? Check your phones WiFi settings
to see if it can see your other network (the one your Win10 is
connecting to)?

Yes clear text and not hard to hack .

But social engineering is also a thing , people reuse passwords even if
you should not it's very very likely that someone uses the same
passwords as they always do .

I had seen that, but I didn't know our username, either. That was why I
thought I would have to have a new 'persona', and I wasn't sure what
MySB would do with our Squeezeboxes if it suddenly was presented with a
new persona. I'd seen other postings where people haven't been able to
use Squeezeboxes when MySB thinks they are not with their previously
registered owner.

But ... the good news is that I found our username, and password. (I'd
noted it in one of our SQ product guides, at the time. Which amazes me,
now.)

So we're up and running with the App again.

Thanks for the ideas,

regards, Atlantic

Nevertheless, it's better than nothing.
The downside is that there are several client apps out there that don't

I have seen the same a while back with Windows Computers (not mobile
phone).
I believe it has to do with the way Windows define networks properties
being Private or Public, and what workgroup you belong to.
You should try to delete your found WiFi network from your phone and
then reboot the phone and search for your WiFi again from scratch.

Don't ask me how to do that on a Windows phone. I never had one myself.
I just remember that's what I did when I had the same problems on a
Windows computer.

[slim] iPeng - Player disappeared into the MySqueezebox hole...

2017-04-01 Thread M7CC

Hopefully this is just a simple problem that I can't figure out because
I'm at the super frustrated stage...

Using:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 (Win7)
iPeng 8.2.1
iPhone 5 w/ IOS 8.4.1

I have 3 players:

iPhone5
iPod (some pre lightening version)
Squeezebox2

I'm using iPeng with the iPhone & was trying to sync one player with
another. I always do this wrong somehow. In any case, I think I
dragged my Squeezebox2 into MySqueezebox (which I never use for
anything, ever). Now I can't find it in iPeng at all. When I start the
Squeezebox, it asks if I want to create an account. I can't find a way
to rehome it to my LMS server.

Please help me I am lost. :p

On the mysb.com login page there's a "forgot password" link. Did you try

I believe there is a password reset page on the mysb website. The code
for the app is frozen in aspic, it will not be updated to bypass MYSB.

[slim] Reinstalling Logi Controller App; lost password

2017-04-01 Thread Atlantic

I uninstalled the Logitech SQ controller app from my Android phone while
away from home. Now back, and on re-installing it asks me for my
MySqueezebox.Com password. Well, that was some years ago, and I've no
idea, now.

We don't use MySB, at all; all our devices use our own LMS. Is there
any way to install the app and bypassing the MySB password step?

I didn't want to register the app again with MySB because, if I create
another (new) MySB password, might MySB then detect all our Squeezeboxes
(we have several) and think they belong to someone else?

I'd like to solve the problem, though, because I happen to use a
slightly-older Android phone which runs the App, and I find it pretty
good.

Grateful for any guidance,

regards, Atlantic

[slim] Cannot find my server

2017-04-01 Thread ButC

I bought myself a Huawei Honor 8 and now the only server I see is
mysqueezebox.com. My old Note 3 finds my server. What I see is that my
server connects to xxxnet 2 while my phone connects to xxxnet. This
never used to be a problem when using my Note 3. Do they handle WiFi
differently or is it something else that is wrong?
