Re: [slim] Album art full screen
I can render each variable to a table but I want to concatenate crudely as follows: Squeezejs.ui.Tracknumber & "." & squeezejs.ui.Trackname Squeezejs.ui.Album Squeezejs.ui.Albumartist You wouldn't concatenate those items in code, but define different elements in your HTML to represent the items. Eg. every item expects an element ID where to render the data. Just put three elements with the correct IDs in a row where you want to place them. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] iOS 11: Continue to Use Your Squeezeboxes with iPhone and iPad with iPeng 9
While Apple prepared to roll out iOS 11 to your iPhones and iPads out there, we have been busy making sure your favorite music App is ready in time, too. AN ALTERNATIVE FOR USERS OF THE LOGITECH APPS This was of course especially important as Logitechs own Apps for Squeezeboxes and the UE Smart Radio will stop working under iOS 11. So, if you have been a user of these Apps until now, you will need an alternative. Of course I hope that you will find iPeng to be your best option now! And to help you a bit with your decision making, both iPeng 9 and iPeng ue will sell at a discount until end of September. Please note that the App Store automatically disables the discounted Upgrade Bundles for users of iPeng Classic, you will get a similar discount due to the reduced price during this time. THREE IPENG APPS WILL BE FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH IOS 11 And while support for specific iOS 11 features will take a little longer, iPeng 9 and iPeng ue now work fine with the new system and iPeng Party will follow soon. Since iOS 11 brings bigger changes than most updates before, we decided to update all Apps we still support. One of the first and foremost implications of the transition to iOS 11 is the discontinuation of support for 32-bit Apps, which means a lot of older Apps will no longer work. As a consequence this means that on new devices we will have to say goodbye to the old iPeng Classic Apps under iOS 11. iPeng Classic, with the original Apps launched 9 and 7 years ago for iPhone and iPad, has been deprecated ever since we released iPeng 7 (now called iPeng 9) four years ago. We left the Apps on the App Store to give users of old hardware an option, but they are no longer supported for new devices. CHANGES TO THE APPS All our other Apps will run with iOS 11, with different implications for the respective Apps, though. IPENG 9 iPeng 9 is seeing the smallest changes of all of our Apps. It has always been a 64-bit App, so even oldest iPeng 7 versions will still run under iOS 11. The latest update was only a few weeks ago, so changes are limited to fixes of some smaller compatibility issues in the user interface. 'Find iPeng 9 on the App Store' (https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/ipeng-7/id767266886?mt=8&uo=4&at=10l56j) IPENG UE For iPeng ue we have taken the opportunity to step up its version to 9.0 as well, and with that it gains two of the features formerly lacking in the UE Smart Radio version of iPeng: - Lock Screen Widget. The widget allows you to control your Smart Radio directly from the lock screen of your iPhone or iPad and gives you faster access to critical controls. - Multitasking support on iPad. iPeng ue now can run in a split-screen window alongside other Apps. While this has already been introduced with iOS 10, it becomes more important under iOS 11, and it allows you to keep iPeng always open next to another App so that you can still control and see your music while e.g. reading on your iPad. Both features work just like in iPeng 9, please read our announcements for iPeng 9.0 to 9.2 'here' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2015/10/28/ipeng-moves-on-to-version-9/), 'here' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2016/08/06/ipeng-widgetry/) and 'here' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2016/09/23/ipeng-gets-ready-for-ios-10/) for details. 'Find iPeng ue on the App Store' (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ipeng-ue/id583668666?mt=8&uo=4&at=10l56j) IPENG PARTY The most significant changes will come to iPeng Party. This is the first time iPeng Party becomes a 64-bit App, and with the upgrade, we have included a lot of the more modern code from iPeng 9 into the App in order to have full compatibility with the latest versions of Logitech Media Server. As you will see, performance has improved significantly as well. And while the general user interface of iPeng Party has stayed the same, it has also adopted a lot of the look&feel of iPeng 9. If you are also an iPeng 9 user, you will feel more at home in iPeng Party now. I hope that with all these updates the transition to iOS 11 goes smoothly for you and that you continue to have fun with your Apple and Squeezebox devices and of course our Apps! This is not new firmware - this is a plugin to your LMS system. If you are using mysqeezebox.com - then nothing will work. 1. Files with ending such as m3u and m3u8 and pls - are playlist - all they contain are files name or URLs of stream to be played. Never heard of amu. 2. Radio streams have and audio part such as MP3, WMA and AAC and a transport part. The SB player such as SB3 Touch, radio can play the original plain HTTP. There are other transport such as Flash (often RTMP URLs). There is a new transport created by Apple called HLS and there is a similar non proprietary called DASH. Some broadcasters are changing over to HLS as it is more efficient and is backed by Apple. What each broadcaster does, is there own choice. iHeart is just an aggregator - a way of getting extra ad revenue by forcing users to go through the aggregator. Also aggregrators can sometime takes over the internet streams to simplify task for station. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107998 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Smart people will stay with Squeezebox
I have never seen any need to change platform. The server and various controllers (mostly Android, but I sometimes still use the Duet or a browser) work great, and the various players all sound good for the room I have them in. (Touches in the serious music listening rooms, Duet receivers in others, radios in kitchen and guest rooms, Booms in my office and bedroom--all sound great.) I also use my phone as a player, with good headphones and connected back to the home server, when I travel. It's a great system for flexibility, serving all the music needs I have, or expect to have in the foreseeable future. I have some financial investment in the hardware, and time invested in ripping/tagging/configuring. So this is what I'll be using for a long time. If one of the hardware players should die, I'll replace it with another. The fact that Logitech chose to drop the line doesn't faze me; my infrastructure is in place, and I love it. Re: [slim] Smart people will stay with Squeezebox
Why would I even consider change? This will continue to fulfill my every need when it comes to music listening for a long time. I was worried when the original UI applications for IOS and Android became obsolete, but there are perfect replacements out there. And there's always the web browser... :-) And I continue to convert people - they see the stuff at my place (I think it's the sound quality that they're not used to, first and foremost) and want me to put something together for them. And buying used SB stuff is much cheaper than going with Sonos (and the integrated amps or speakers -ugh- in some Sonos systems simply aren't good enough for their price). Thanks to the developers! And let's continue to support them! ...pablo Server: Virtual Machine (on VMware Workstation 12) running Ubuntu 16.04 + LMS 7.9 System: SB Touch --optical->- Benchmark DAC2HGC --AnalysisPlus Oval Copper XLR->- NAD M22 Power Amp --AnalysisPlus Black Mesh Oval->- Totem Element Fire Other Rooms: 2x SB Boom; 1x SB Radio; 1x SB Classic-> NAD D7050 -> Totem DreamCatcher + Velodyne Minivee Sub Computer audio: workstation --USB->- audioengine D1 -> Grado PS500e/Shure 1540 pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107925 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Wow this sounds complicated. Downloading new firmware? So it's not going to be a simple URL fix. I dont understand how they can have streams other than 3mu or amu. What keywords should I search for about this technology? Re: [slim] iHeart Q102 KIIS not working again and can't find hidden stream URLs
The Q102 m3u8 URL is now a HLS stream which means you need a LMS and a plugin to play the stream as it isnot a supported format of the SB or squeezelite players. You can try to install the PlayHLS plugin which uses the ffmpeg application to trasncode - this will need to be installed as well as the plugin. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107998 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
