Re: [slim] Squeezebox classic has stopped working
Ok you got a Touch . You can try the SB3with the Touchs powersupply . If you want to use Ethernet you have to do the network setup again , not just connecting a cable . If you are close to the router it is easy to try with a short cable . No other weird issues its not rebooting itself ? If the WiFi card is failing it can get all sorts of random issues . It can be removed and there is a tread on the forum about replacing the WiFi card the tricky part is to find a similar one . Some chose to run it with Ethernet instead or use an external ap . Re: [slim] Ridiculously pleased - big thanks to Michael H & SqueezeBox community
Yes, Michael helped my big time, when I bought a used SB3 off E-bay. I was having issues with it, and someone told me to have Michael H "de-register " the previous owner, then he helped walk me through resetting the MAC address. After that I registered it (again) to my account, and all is fine now.. chamonix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108994 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox classic has stopped working
Tom, You may have to remove the wifi card in the SB in order to use Ethernet. I was told a bad WiFi card (in my SB3) can interfere, with an Ethernet connection too. Good luck ! chamonix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108993 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox classic has stopped working
Today I moved my Squeezebox Classic closer to my router. The WIFI signal strength moved up to 99%. It still failed to sustain playing either MP3 or FLAC files for more than about 6 seconds. Then it just quits. Also, I tried connecting it to the LMS that runs my Squeezebox Touches. That server version is 7.9.1. The Classic stills fails. I may still try using an Ethernet cable as Mnyb suggested, but I am not very hopeful about that. If anyone has another idea, I would love to hear it. Perhaps I could try reloading the firmware, but I am not sure where to find it. Short of success either from Ethernet, or new firmware, I may have to abandon this old Classic. :( Tom TomShults's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62626 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108993 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Ridiculously pleased - big thanks to Michael H & SqueezeBox community
Have always had random glitches when streaming from Internet - Spotify, radio stations, etc. Generally once or twice a day. Took some time to update all the firmware on my firewall and APs a couple weekends ago, updated to LMS 7.9.2 and everything has been rock solid. Currently running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1524136933 on RPi3 with MaxPlay hardwired to router. Music and OS on a microSD card. Interesting that after I updated the firmware on my Ubiquiti APs the Auto setting for power is no longer full strength and the WiFi signal strength at most of my SqueezeBoxen is lower by 10-40%, however, syncing 5 or 6 is no problem. Running Spotty and ShairTunes2, both working flawlessly. Wanted to say many thanks to Michael for his continued work and support for LMS, along with all of the other contributors and plug in developers, and everyone here on the forum thats always helpful when Ive run into issues - Thanks!!! Re: [slim] Lightning bolt on Jivelite with Original 7" touch screen and piCorePlayer, Pi3
toplard wrote: > Thank you. I went for the latter (UK plug). Cheers. > > Just love the Jivelite. And Hifiberry DAC.I just tried the Northpada at UK£7. > Its excellent. Thanks for the hint. Converting off the Rpi GPIO feed, back onto the display feed via USB with this adapter only briefly shows lightning bolt at bootup (hi demand). Using white RPI adapter in this config is no good forever. Will stick with this config as aesthetically fewer cables if using RPI short USB cable. So it looks like this is a better adapter in general for Pi? Still not sure if its due to better cable, PS specs or bit of both? But happy. Upside is inline on/off switch which is fine on piCorePlayer. Couldn't find that detail yet. Its on order with reco'd 18v PSU. So we'll see empirically (will try to be objective). BTW, using the Azur in my setup is uncomfortable over half volume on the amp control. Not sure if control is linear on volume or quality?
