Re: [slim] Tunein vs Rado OSD display on SB2
EEYORE wrote: > And why the rebuffering problem with the Radio selection but none with > TuneIn? Tunein is a directory not a service - it does not relay traffic not does it alter the audio stream. Not sure what you mean by "Radio" selection. The various Radio menus (e.g.Sports, News, Talk) are all eventually handled by Tunein - in theory so there should be no difference. When a station is playing via "Radio" - note the underlying playing URL and then compare it to the underlying playing URL for same station via Tune-in. Playing a station via LMS compared to mysqueezebox.com can have a diffference if "proxied" service is enabled in LMS for the player. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109767 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Upgrade...permissions seem okay, but lack of logs is a worry. I'm going to try a fresh install on a new VM. Many thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Was it an upgrade or a clean install? [slim] Tunein vs Rado OSD display on SB2
Gentlemen/Ladies, I am not sure if I should be post here or in the LMS forum. My primary use of the SB2 is to access radio stations from around the world; every now and then I will use it to play music or audio books. When I start my SB2 I get the menu that allows me to select a function. In Settings I have had Radio as the first/default selection which is what I used. But I have recently had problems with rebuffering of stations, even my local NPR station, and was looking for a solution. When I went to go to mysqueezebox.com I found that there was a TuneIn selection, I had set up TuneIn in settings and set favorites at the TuneIn site, so I have tried it and it does not have the same buffering problems that Radio has. My question concerns the position of TuneIn in the menu. Radio can be moved in the settings menu but I have found nowhere to move TuneIn so that it appears as the first menu selection onscreen; it appears about midway in the onscreen menu so that when I start up my SB2 I have to scroll down to find it. Is there a way to reposition TuneIn on the menu so that it is the default opening selection on the menu? And why the rebuffering problem with the Radio selection but none with TuneIn? Fifteen+ years and still learning about the SB, Richard EEYORE's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68309 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109767 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Upgraded Ubuntu - scan now stuck
Hi I upgraded Ubuntu from 16.04LTS to 18.04LTS, and now the scan is stuck. e.g. This page shows the progress of each phase of the scanning process. Discovering files/directories: /mnt/music/Music (8104 of 8104) Complete 00:00:02 Scanning new music files: /mnt/music/Music (7435 of 7435) Complete 00:00:35 Abort scan It's been like this for an hour. Does anyone have any suggestions? It still plays music, but a "clear and rescan" just does the same. [slim] Slimdevices Squeezebox Classic stopped working
My Classic Slimdevice appears to have stopped working. It continually reboots itself. I've reset it a number of times but it keeps rebooting after so many minutes of play. I've had it for about 15 years or longer. Perhaps it is time to let it go. However, wondering if there is a place I can send it for repair? 26016 +---+ |Filename: 2947-1-1.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=26016| +---+ tdehan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65180 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109765 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Syncing volume on some players but not others.
Sorry this took so long, but I don't update my Logitech service much these days as it is a bedrock of my listening pleasure! Have installed the 16/11/18 version of 7.9.2, fiddled with the volume on the synced and non-synced players. Neither group affected the other. All seems right with the world! I'm amazed that this got addressed at all, let alone that it was done so quickly and efficiently. Many thanks. Re: [slim] How to retain active playlist when squeezebox service is restarted
And i found another usecase for it.. I do run Alarms on some players. Whenever that Alarm is active it wipes the last playlist from that player and adds the alarmplaylist/file as its playlist. So it doesnt matter if that particular DSTM is a bug or a feature. If you really what do "save" your last active playlist when using alarms - you need to save it by hand or script.
