I think I've seen the kind of interactions that you mentioned in that thread. But I think this is different because I was not actively using iPeng (or my phone) at the time. I'm not certain that iPeng is implicated - that's just my inexperienced interpretation of the log file. slartibartfast wrote: > I see volumes suddenly falling to zero and I don't use iPeng. > I've seen two types of behaviour that I assumed were related, but maybe they're not after all. The first was the volume on one player being set to zero at start up, and the other is volume reductions during playback. My logfile above is for the latter case. Have you seen player volume dropping to zero during playback, or was it already at zero when you started playback (making it the former case)? chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114230 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezePlay for Mac OSX
I found the link where I downloaded it. It is here:https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezelite/osx/m1/ Oh, I thought Ralphy had found a way around this issue. Seems to be some macOS security feature gone wrong. Once you've extracted the file from the .dmg file, run the following command for each of them: xattr -cr /Applications/SqueezePlay.app ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I haven't looked at the log file, but it is not unthinkable that iPeng is involved. I've recently reported 'strange volume changes in conjunction with iPeng' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?51929-iPeng-support-thread/page816). Apparently, iPeng is compiled as a music app, which means it has some special privileges on iOS (resulting, ahem, emergent and non-intuitive interactions with the system). When I downloaded it , I saw they had a note about a possible fix for this error but the fix was for the app itself , not the compressed image (dmg) so still no go. fletch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71552 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96328 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I just checked my mac for the deleted one just to be sure and it's also the lite version, not play. I found the link where I downloaded it. It is here:https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezelite/osx/m1/ I really do have a windows version called squeezelite -x that works well. And another windows version called squeezeplay (squeezelite-x). Not sure why it has 2 names but it also works well. Ok sorry for the ^*^%%$$ confusion.. I will try squeezeplay (osx -m1) tonight and see what happens. So why did Squeezebox/LMS get dropped? This seems like a really nice system because it works so many different kinds of devices and not vendor locked. fletch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71552 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96328 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Spontaneous volume reduction
I'd appreciate the opinion of anyone who has experience with log files. I just had the spontaneous volume reduction happen again, this time while streaming Greatest Hits Radio on a Group Player that combines two Booms, a DAC32 and a pCP. I've trimmed the attached log file down to the 10 minutes or so from when the Group Player was turned on before the volume changed, plus a short period afterwards. I'm no expert, so does this look to anyone else as though the mixer volume change request was initiated by iPeng at [21-03-29 18:24:00.4061]? That would be odd if so, because my phone was lying untouched on the table. I don't recall exactly when was the last time I had iPeng in the foreground, but it was definitely before I turned the Group Player on at around 18:13:51. +---+ |Filename: volume change server.log.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=33996| +---+ chill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114230 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

But I found another player that is made for m1's and it worked fine (other than volume control). M1's are risc based and I think it will take awhile for everything to catch up...just growing pains of new tech. I will try this one again later. Speaking of tech- Any idea why did Logitech abanded Squeeze box/LMS in the first place? I just recently discovered it by accident and it seems way more versatile than what's out there now. fletch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71552 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96328 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Is it worth to upgrade for Rpi3 + Allo Digione?
i use digione as well. the only upgrade path that i found was using a 3.3v power supply to power both a pi zero and the digione. 5v is not required for either zero or digione unless you need to attach a usb. and on the way you bypass a few convertors here and there and have a cleaner path, i discovered. the WM8805 chip from Wolfson on the digione is a 3.3v device therefore back and forth conversion to 5v is completely unnecessary. mcduman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66702 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114245 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
