[slim] Network traffic continues for a minute after pausing players
I have recently upgraded my router equipment so have a better opportunity to monitor traffic across my LAN. This has revealed to me a quirk with the traffic to Squeezeplayers. I have an SB3, a Squeezebox Radio and a PicoReplayer set up. On all three, I observe the same phenomenon: A player that is paused by pressing the pause button on the main LMS web interface, or the pause button in the Squeezelite-X app, or even the power button on the remote control in the case of the SB3, continues to draw traffic over the LAN at the same bitrate as before. After about a minute, the traffic stops. I assume that this is by design in order to make the players ready to resume the stream instantly, and then after a set period the players conclude that the user does not want to resume and stops the stream. Interestingly, with the PCP, pressing Stop in the PCP web interface stops the traffic instantly. This raises two questions: 1. Is there on the LMS web interface or on the players themselves an equivalent to the "Stop" on the PCP? 2. Is there a setting somewhere that determines the time delay from "Pause" to the cutting of the stream? beneix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59783 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115481 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

All you need to install a plugin is to be able to load http://:9000 in your web browser. Once there, you would use the Settings link at bottom right, then go to the Plugins tab on the Settings page. [slim] Recommendations for kitchen
Hi Long time squeezebox user here. I have several touches hooked up to amps and speakers in the house, and a dedicated vortexbox server running LMS. 1 boom in use upstairs. After a kitchen extension, I would like to introduce some networked audio into the kitchen, but this will need to consist of essentially one smart speaker type device. Certainly only a one box solution. Forgive me, but I really dont want to build a custom made device. Really I want an updated version of the boom, which doesnt exist! Are there any devices out there that can be configured to work with lms? The dreaded sonos for example? Worst case scenario, would one of the more intelligent smart speakers be able to at least see the upnp server that vortexbox has, in addition to LMS? So I can at least browse my music library that way? Any suggestions and advice sincerely appreciated. tusken's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39322 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115478 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Out of curiosity I downloaded this app from the Microsoft Store. When I try to open it, the app window displays with nothing in it then crashes after about 15 seconds. Nothing in the windows logs using event viewer. App uninstalled. I think SSIDS with odd characters may cause problems - just alphanumeric and no spaces etc. Turn off any 40MHz channel bonding. Re: [slim] SB3 not seeing 2.4GHz SSIDs
My first thought was that maybe you have them configured as "hidden" in your router. Can they be seen by any devices that have never connected before? For example - a friend's phone. Do the 5GHz and 2.4GHz SSIDs have different names? If not - then that could be why the Samsung device lists it. [slim] SB3 not seeing 2.4GHz SSIDs
Hi - I live in central London and there are quite a few routers in range. I have two routers, both running 2.4 and 5GHz signals on 4 different SSIDs. My SB3 doesn't see any of them! Obviously I don't expect it to see the 5GHz signals. - if i manually type in the SSID into the SB3 then it connects, but it still doesn't add it to the list of available WiFi SSIDs - all routers are on WPA2 only - my Samsung S10 phone sees all 4 of them. - I am using an old BT Homehub 5 router, and a new Nokia router - the SB3 is in range! Any idea why my SB3 isn't seeing these SSIDs? I have used wired connections up to now so I haven't noticed the problem before.
