Popcorn Hour with record function would have been my exact purchase if it was available. Considering the great reviews it gets there's definitely an opportunity for them here imo. -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40689 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Love My Squeezebox! What's The Equivalent For Video?
Second the call on PS3 with PS3 Media Server. If you've got a decent computer you can get anything you want up on the big screen - anything your PC supports inc. IPTV - for $300. Pretty reliable solution too, at least for me. There are a million options and a lot of them are great. But the part I was worred about is that there is so much focus on this space now - and the rewards so huge for the company that nails it - that I reckon in four or five years there could be only 2 or 3 players that are head and shoulders above everyone else with options we haven't even heard about. So i think cost is important when buying something now. The other key factor is reliability - I love tweaking stuff but I've decided that one thing I never, ever want to have to optimise or fix is a media unit that goes funny when sitting down to watch a movie. -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40689 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Canceling Folder Repeats
Bump...did anyone have any comment to make on ascherjim's question? Was very curious to hear what a 'pro' would say, if anyone could spare a sec. Re: [slim] Canceling Folder Repeats
I think you're selecting 'play all' and the squeezecentre is playing the files and then the playlist file. If you just select the playlist file only it will play just once. If I'm right, considering it's a minor hassle to scroll to the bottom of the song files and select the playlist file everytime, hopefully a seasoned vet here can tell us how to avoid having to do this - without duplicating the folder structure to split the two different file types. Yoikes! -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62936 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Duet network problems
I've got a similar problem - one hour it's fine, the next one it's not. When it stops, sometimes 'prompting' the player with the controller works, other times 'promting' from the squeezecenter browser does the trick. Have not tried all possible documented troubleshooting steps so will hold off on detail but you're certainly not on your own here. The shame is our wireless laptop is always 100% fine, even upstairs where the signal is going through two walls and a floor. So if it's down to signal strength that's really odd. -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52860 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I've got the exact same problem. Running XP so would imagine this is probably a 'feature' of 7.2. -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52910 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Well, day 5 of madly trying to fix this thing and it looks like I got somewhere - I tried a new wireless channel (5, from 11) and now it works fine. I can't believe I've not seen this in any troubleshooting tips, it has done the trick here first time. I'm not getting ahead of myself and as had it connected for barely 5 minutes but to even get this far I feel is a major achievement. Thanks again for your offer to help - hopefully I'm not going to come grovelling back needing more! -- Archer_11 ---- Archer_11's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18515 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49385 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
