[slim] Better Rhapsody Connection?

2006-08-05 Thread Boone

The Rhapsody service connection is the best new feature of Squeezebox
to date. They have an incredible collection of music. Any hope that a
future version of Slimserver will include an easier interface withe the
service? Having to go into the office to manually open Rhapsody on the
computer, then exit and reload Slimserver is a drag. It would be great
if you could connect to Rhapsody as easily as you can Pandora,
Shoutcast, etc.

[slim] Re: Rhapsody Link

2006-07-06 Thread Boone

Thanks for your help, but I've followed the instructions and still can't
find a link to Rhapsody on either Slimserver or Squeezebox. Hopefully,
they will come up with a more direct way to access Rhapsody in future
software versions.

[slim] Rhapsody Link

2006-07-05 Thread Boone

I updated to 6.3.0 today. No problems, but I can not find a connection
for Rhapsody. I'm located in the U.S. and have an existing Rhapsody
account. Where is the link located?

[slim] Re: Rhapsody Link

2006-07-05 Thread Boone

Yes. I can run Rhapsody on my computer using their software, but I see
no link on the SlimServer software or the Squeezebox to access it. I
expected it would be under Internet Radio or Plugins, but I didn't find
it.

O.K. My mistake. I tried that now. No change. SlimServer starts up
then shuts off within a few seconds. I'm considering going back to 6.1
(the previous version) where I didn't have this problem. If I do, do I
just remove the current version and redownload the older one? Will I
have to also go with an earlier version of AlienBBC?

Thanks for all of your help. In the interest of time, I removed 6.2.2
and reloaded 6.2.1. All is well at this point.

I know that there have been several posts with similar problems since
6.2.2 was released. I really hope the software designers look into
this before releasing the next version. I bought the SB because I
wanted a way to listen to internet radio on my home computer. As great
as it is (when it works), it will never be anything but a device for
computer techies unless they can get the bugs out.
