My Alarm works since the early days (somewhere around 2006/7) without any odd behavior. It starts every weekday with an internal playlist and stops like it should. The only addon for the alarm thats on my personal wishlist is a "dont wake me up on a National holiday". Of curse i added this feature in a external bash script. And i found another usecase for it.. I do run Alarms on some players. Whenever that Alarm is active it wipes the last playlist from that player and adds the alarmplaylist/file as its playlist. So it doesnt matter if that particular DSTM is a bug or a feature. If you really what do "save" your last active playlist when using alarms - you need to save it by hand or script. I would open a sqlite shell and run your sql statement with -limit 1 Code: sqlite> select tracks.id from tracks LEFT JOIN comments comments ON comments.track = tracks.id where comments.value LIKE 'aaa' limit 1; That should show one match. copy that value add it in a browserlink http://lms:9000/trackinfo.html?sess=that_id you should see a track with the comment aaa works for me DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109334 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Ratings to files
Hi, since he already had that csv - the main question is: Is that a onetime task only or a aldayrunner? A onetime solution (minimal) should look like: Export 10 playlists each for a rating. Import that playlist with eg, mp3tag and mark all tracks and add a tag (popm whatever) with 1 or similar rating. Repeat these steps for all playlists. A alltime runner should also check is the rating already in the tag if not change / add that rating to the file. I would prefer a simple cmd for that - the python demo from Roland (IMHO) only make sense if the Filenames/paths are UTF-8 like > x:\Røyksopp\The Girl and The Robot\Røyksopp - The Girl and The Robot - > 01 - The Girl and The Robot (Album Version).mp3 Changing strings like that is a mess with vbs/cmd/powershell and a fun with python. If "thats" not needed - python is too complex for a "excel is a database" user. Re: [slim] Ratings to files
Hi, looks like a pretty simple job, but it isnt simple. eg Excel isnt a database (that statement alone tells me about your IT Knowledge) Since LMS never ever touches /changes tags only reads them - there is IMHO no way to do that with a plugin. cause that would break the "never change tags with lms behavior" you need: - A commandline tagger for your files and os. excel runs on osx and windows - not native on linux. you os is??? - A prefered tag to use (there are some to use) - a csv file with your ratings nd your filepath/names - some script that changes the tags for each filename with the ratings - that script must check "if exist file then" cause some special chars in the lms db are not the real one -> " " is called %20 and so on - some debugging you see its not that simple as it looks on the first place but its not impossible. AFAIK Michael wants a solution that the settings from LMS (even when the LMS Server IP & Ports are forwarded to the Internet) are "safer" then now. Even when i found LMS 7.9 is really fast i'd tried to run my cache in a RAMDisk (in my older days i just run the db in a Ramdisk) I didnt found any difference - except the boot and reboot needs more time to save the RAMdisk to the Harddisk by shutdown and vice verse on a startup. [\1/2 OT] - DONT use a RAMDISK in Windows - Winblows cant handle a RAMdisk - DONT use a RAMDISK on LMS > 7.9 - The DB is already in the RAM DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108196 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Big argument in favor of doing a full rescan
I do full rescans on a regular base - since lms 7.9 its even faster than ever. But you must not forget that a clean scan always deletes more than just your db. All the cached sites are wiped also - that means the webgui from lms is a little bit slower, cause everything in ./templates had to be rewritten. If you reorganize a bunch from your library files/folders a clean scan is (my) way to go. If you didnt - you cant expect that. If you reboot your lms Server System and do a rescan - it may be faster than a rescan with some ram usage of eg. firefox or similar. In my long time with lms i can tell you RAM & CPU and the way your library is attached to the lms system - that matters for scantime. Debian Strech 81.453 Tracks from 2.549 on a I7 3.8 Ghz System with 8GB Ram needs 31 minutes. Debian Strech 81.453 Tracks from 2.549 on a Pentium M 1.8 Ghz System with 4 GB Ram needs 51 minutes. You have to know - how your setup is working and that your 2.nd "router" (its a routing Bridge) in fact halfs your Bandwith cause its acting as sender abd reciever over wlan. I would move the ISP router to your desktop router in case of two wire its a peace of cake in case of coax you'll need the help from the cable provider (the shield between the in House ISP Connection point and your ISP provided Router) must be ~ 95 dB!!! You cannot lengthen or shorten it whitout changing the internal resitor. Or buy some lan over power devices between the ISP Roter and your two Wlan Bridges.
