Use the handheld skin. It is working very nicely on my Lifedrive (320*480) you can connect it with: http://localhost:9000/handheld/ -- Mathiou Do you know Viaduc: http://www.viaduc.com/invitation/00219a2skr26usth Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28011 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Re: Slim boombox
I agree 100% with you. A high-end product is for audiophiles only and they will never be happy with it !!! On the other end, it would be really great to have a simple squeezebox with built-in amplifier and integrated speakers (and maybe an FM tuner), to move it from the bath-room to the kitchen, to the garden... I cannot say that I would buy 2 or 3 of them but 1 for sure ! -- Mathiou Do you know Viaduc: http://www.viaduc.com/invitation/00219a2skr26usth Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25794 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: Cannot change device with handheld skin
I have send an email to Slimdevices support and it seems they are on this issue. That said: do you by chance have cookies disabled? No, Cookies are enabled You're on SlimCD? Is it installed to disk or are you running it from CD? You can have your configuration backuped and restored automatically if you set /opt/.backup_device (check for the name - I am at work and not sure about it). SlimServer is then backupped as well (which sometimes is a pain when you update the SlimCD image - but that's another story :-)) It's running from an USB pendrive. I will check this and try to backup everything. [slim] Cannot change device with handheld skin
Hello, I have one squeezebox and one softsqueeze connected to my slimserver. Using the handheld skin, a combo box appears on the top of the page so I can select which device I want to control. Unfortunately, I cannot change it because each time I select the other device, it goes back to the already selected device. It does not work on my PDA, neither on my PC with Opera or with IE6. Is this a bug ? -- Mathiou Do you know Viaduc: http://www.viaduc.com/invitation/00219a2skr26usth Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25262 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Now I have Version du SlimServer : 6.3.1 - 8278 - Debian - FR - iso-8859-1 but it is not working better... [slim] Re: Touchscreen Options
I have a 12 touchscreen with a resolution of 800x600. This is just enough to use the touchscreeen skin of slimserver. With a smaller screen, you will be obliged to run the handeld skin. But then, why not consider to purchased a PDA ? The Palm Lifedrive for example has wi-fi connection, a touchscreen and an audio output. You can stream music from slimserver to a Lifedrive, I can say it works because I've tried with mine. -- Mathiou Do you know Viaduc: http://www.viaduc.com/invitation/00219a2skr26usth Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24983 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Hello, the wiki says: The SlimServer Preferences file is where MOST of your settings are stored. What most means ? Is there other files that I need to backup ? I'm asking because I'm now running slimserver using slimCD on an USB pendrive (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24508) and files have to be saved each time I shutdown the computer. -- Mathiou Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22121 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Re: Slimserver not working and then I'm obliged to run scandisk
I have made some tests and it appears that my motherobard (Epia 800) has an old IDE controller that does not support 48 bit LBA mode. So the HDD limit is 137 Gb, but 160 Gb appears under windows. I guess my problems came when I tried to write on the disk after this limit. Is there a chance to override this 137 GB limit by software and to have the full capacity working correctly ? Under linux and/or under windows ? [slim] Re: Slimserver not working and then I'm obliged to run scandisk
VIA seem to have forgotten about the original mini-ITX boards; I've seen no BIOS or driver updates for them for years You're right, there is no update in the bios and drivers since 2002-2003. If you don't have a card in the PCI slot, you could consider installing a separate IDE controller - they only cost about 20 quid. I have considered to use a PCI card as a controler but then I loose my USB2/firewire PCI card because only one PCI card can fit in my box (hoojum cubit 3). Just to be 100% sure, can anyone confirm to me that there is a risk to loose data if I try to write after the 137Gb limit ? (because under Win2000, the disk appears with its full capacity so, in a first impression, it could be possible to fill the HDD completely!) -- Mathiou Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23968 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Slimserver not working and then I'm obliged to run scandisk
Hello, I have slimserver installed on an Epia800 motherboard running Windows 2000 sp4. The only software running are slimserver, winamp, opera and Kerio firewall. It is the third time that, when I power up my computer, slimserver does not work and windows says that I should use scandisk because some files are corrupted. I cannot run it under windows because it says that the drive is locked so scandisk runs on next start. Then, scandisk fixes a lot of indexes and orphan files (pictures for slimserver html pages). After that, I'm still not able to run slimserver. I must uninstall it and reinstall. My first problem is that I cannot know if this is a problem coming from the harddisk or from slimserver ? I have tested the HDD on another computer with UBCD and it didn't find anything special on it but ... -- Mathiou Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23968 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
