Re: [slim] lossless internet radio streaming in FLAC!
I was meaning the sample rate parameter to the flac command needs to be matched to 48000, so in convert.conf: Code: ogg flc * * # R [mplayer] -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -cache 512 -af volume=0,channels=2 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=#PIPE# $FILE$ | [flac] -cs --totally-silent --endian=little --channels=2 --sign=signed --bps=16 --sample-rate=48000 --compression-level-0 - Restart Squeezcenter, then in the filetypes menu, I set the FLAC handling of Ogg to be mplayer from the dropdown options and disabled the others. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=65553 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] How to combine Wifi and ethernet? (Frustrated)
What a mess. I suspect having a router on the wired NIC and the neighbour's router on the wi-fi is problem as both will be advertising themselves as default routes to your PC for the 192.168.0.xxx network. Windows XP is likely giving a better interface metric to the wired NIC, which goes no-where. I'd start by disabling wi-fi on the PC, then try setting your router to offer DHCP in the 192.168.2.xxx range and see of you can get music streaming working. Enable wi-fi and manually force the interface metric on the wi-fi card to be better than the NIC and/or force the default gateway to be the wi-fi NIC. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62543 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Feedback on 1.1 Sorted the database load of larger libraries No so good : - Bug in handling albums of same name (Best of, Greatest Hits etc). Rather than play the selected album, creates a playlist by taking one track from all albums which have the same name - Albums, simply too slow ( 1 minute!) to create viewable menu. This is with about 3200 albums - Artists, name truncation with '...', should use smaller font for these entries - Artists, albums without dates are listed alphabetically, followed by dated albums in ascending date order! - Genres menus doesn't need A-Z structure on menu - Genres, for same reason one genre 'Classical' always returns zero entries. The other 27 Genres I have work fine. Go figure. - Genres, should have an option to order by album name rather than current order by artist name but display album title - Genres, building list slow for large number of albums in common genre (i.e. Rock) - Now playing, hardware buttons should be active to control volume Bottom line, 1.1 may be OK for peeps with up to a few hundred rock/pop albums. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55073 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Game On: Sonos has an iPhone app
I'm beginning to think the SBR/SBC design was a mistake. The lack of IR on the SBR is major nuisance for those of us with IR based remotes like Pronto which work fine with SB3/TP. And the SBC is too expensive for what it does (yes, even with 7.3 activation of the line-out). I'm minded that the community of Touch/iPhone owners and music streamer owners has a huge overlap.
