Re: [slim] Announcement - ickStream open beta release on Squeezebox !
Hi guys, thanks for all of your work over the years on the various aspects of Squeezebox. I have not been a super active member of the community, but I am looking here from time to time. I recently was looking to see if there was perhaps a chance to see if a plug-in was in the works from someone to bring in Amazon Prime streaming. I did find a thread where someone else was looking for the same thing. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?102719-Amazon-Prime-Music-Plugin&p=801768 Another poster suggested that the best chance of getting this implemented would be through ickstream. Not knowing what this was entirely, I did a little research and was excited to see the possibilities! If services such as Pandora and Amazon Prime were available through this if/when mysb.com goes away, the Squeezebox ecosystem would have life for me for a LONG time to come!! Back to my original statement, is this the right place to suggest Amazon Prime streaming functionality? I would love to have that capability thru this or another plug in. If I can help in a non-coding capacity, I would be happy to. I could set up a test environment with one of my old SB1s and setup a new server just for testing this. Re: [slim] streaming Myspace Music?
Thanks for the reply! I have no idea what this stuff takes to implement, so I appreciate folks like you who do! Just thought I'd rustle up the idea again since I looked at my MySpace profile today for the first time in at least a year. I do like the music player on the page and thought that it would be neat to stream that player to the SB. I know this is an oldie of a post. Sorry for digging into the past. With MySpace appearing to have really focused on music more than a social device, does this idea warrant another look? I have found some good stuff there lately that would be great to stream to the squeezebox! Thanks. I did note the sticky posts. I hesitated to file a bug report because I would hate to "cry wolf" and report a bug that no one else is seeing. But on the other hand, it is consistent. Re: [slim] Debug Error Message?
Another piece of information. I re-upgraged to the officially supported version of 7.2. I just ordered a Squeezebox Boom and have to run this version. I sure would like to have this run so I do not have to disable it whenever I want my other program to work. The other program that I was trouble shooting was MediaMonkey. It would actually freeze up while ripping a CD and when it finally released itself, Windows would no longer recognize my DVD/CD rom until a reboot. When SqueezeCenter is disabled, I do not get the above mention message and MediaMonkey works as it should. Am I reporting this correctly? Should I post this in different forum? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Buck -- buck "I have come to chew bubblegum and kick ass. [slim] Debug Error Message?
Hi! I was trouble shooting a different application and was running DebugView from Microsoft. While debug was running, this message was constantly in the viewer. [4980] Invalid parameter passed to C runtime function. I noted over 40,000 instances in less than 10 minutes. I began shutting down applications to try and figure out which one was the culprit and when I shut down SqueezeCenter, the messages stopped. The messages consistently began and stopped every time I ran/shut down SC. I uninstalled SC7.2-22491 and reinstalled 7.1. I still get the same message. Interestingly, SC SEEMS to be running OK. Any ideas? That error seems to be fairly generic? Re: [slim] Remove artist or album from Now Playing list
THANK YOU!!! The lack of this feature was what was keeping me from using default skin on 7.0. In fact, I had downgraded to 6.5.5 - I didn't like how fishbone in 7.0 would bring up album info as a "pop-up" If I selected an item at the bottom of a page. I'd have to scroll back to the top to see the information. Probably just a setup thing on my part, but that discussion has the danger of straying off topic. So.. Re: [slim] Wireless Signal with (2) Squeezebox V1s
Well, I got a response from Logitech/SlimDevices. They wanted $90.00 plus shipping to replace the LAN card. It is against their policy to simply send a replacement part so they required the Squeezebox to be sent to them. I Googled the part number off of the back of the card and found a few retailers online. I ended up buying the card for $14.99 plus shipping. (19.99 actually since I paid for the mini-antenna that I didnt need that the card normally requires.) Anyhow, the new card works great. I get 90% signal and no more issues. Thanks for the help! I obtained this unit off of ebay for a fairly good price. I think it would be cost-effective in this case to fix it. I have confirmed that it is the Wireless PC Card. I swapped it out with the one in my other Squeezebox and it worked flawlessly. Just to check, I put the one from the low signal unit in my original and got the low signal results. I just put in a request for information to Slim Devices regarding the availability of the Wireless PC Card. I'll be hoping for goog news. Cross your fingers for me! :-) Thanks again for the replys! [slim] Wireless Signal with (2) Squeezebox V1s
Howdy all! Sorry that I havent spent any time on this forum - and now I come begging for help. I have had a Squeezebox Version 1 for for a few years now and I love it. I recently bought another Version 1 one from eBay and I seem to have an issue. With my first Squeezebox, I get great signal strength - 78-85%. It is located 1 floor below my wireless router (Linksys WR54G) The new one that I bought will not get above 10% strength, even with it located in the same room as the router. Both are at firmware version 40 and I am running a semi recent build of SS 6.5.5 (It seems to wreak havoc when I try to play my FLAC files also. Really stutters because of the low strength) My firewall is setup to allow all trafic from the IP address range that I allow DHCP on the router to assign. My other devices on the network seem to be just fine. (2 laptops - one with built in wireless card one with a Belkin PCMCIA card wireless G. A desktop Dell machine using a USB Belkin wirelessG adaptor. A Nintendo Wii -- anyhow a bunch of stuff that is working just fine) It sounds like it would be a Squeezebox issue, and if that is the case - does anyone have any idea as to how I may remedy? (Even if it's not a SB problem - any advice would be appreciated) Again, thanks for taking the time to read this. And thanks in advance for any advice.
