Thanks for the suggestions. The gaming bridge is an interesting option; in fact, I have another wireless router (Netgear Rangemax) doing nothing right now so maybe I could turn that into a bridge somehow. The whole wireless thing seems a little like a black magic right now. I tried refreshing the status page last night and the signal strength on the SB3's fluctuated quite a bit w/o me actually doing anything; in fact, the one on the 2nd floor would disappear and reappear. Unfortunately my Netgear doesn't support WDS and WPA. I raised the router about 2 feet and now I'm getting a consistent 50 with one SB3 and 95 with the Transporter; however, the SB3 upstairs is very erratic. [slim] SB3 Antenna???
I just recently switched from DSL to cable and the Apple Extreme router is now farther away. My Transporter is great (it works great regardless of where the router is in the house) but the two SB3's always seem to struggle with picking up a strong enough signal. The NAS concept is just starting to evolve now into something more than network storage (i.e. Thecus M3800). I'm just starting to look into the whole NAS world now because of my HD video camera more than my music but I'd like to have my music and photos there too. [slim] Server Performance Issue on Mac
I started using the server on Monday and everything was working smoothly for a couple of days. I was listening to Radio Paradise on Shoutcast and life was great. Then on Wednesday the performance bogged down and now Shoutcast is pretty much useless. I'm running a 450 MHz G4 w/ OSX 10.3.9 and slimserver 6.2.1. Has anyone else had similar problems?
