Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...

2014-09-27 Thread feelfree

Just installed squeezeplayer on my FireTV (bluegaspode sent me the apk -
thanks a lot!)
It works fine if the FireTV is connected through WiFi to the network. It
does not work at all if it's connected through wired connection.

My fireTV is connected over HDMI to the AV-Receiver. Adjusting volume at
the FireTV is not possible. After 10 minutes, the screensaver of the
FireTV starts, but music continues. Have to find out if the FireTV will
go to standby after 30 minutes (but I'm sure there's some hack out there
to prevent that). Also I have to find out how to start Squeezeplayer
automatically after bootup of the AFT.

Re: [slim] 7.2.1 - 'Can't connect to SqueezeCenter' keeps repeating

I would love to know when the new firmware revisions will be rolled out
- tried the latest 7.3 release, but still getting firmware 116 for my
SB3.

Re: [slim] SqueezeBox Power On Issue - Constantly Trying to Connect to Suspended SC

2008-09-13 Thread feelfree

Happy to see that I am not the only...
See also my post here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52350 and please vote
for the bug
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9474

The solution is SO easy (either revert last changes or issue a WOL
packet); I really can't believe Logitech will stick to this REALLY
ANNOYING behaviour.

Any chance that this will be changed if I enter a bug-report?

Why not send a WOL packet /without/ pressing power? The flashing
display is very annoying.
In fact, with this behaviour, the switchable mains output of my
Amp/Receiver is unusable with the Squeezebox. If I want just listen to
FM-radio, the squeezebox keeps flashing infinitely until I have found
the remote and press the power-button, although I do not want to use
the squeezebox at all in this case.

Again:
- It would be perfect for me if the squeezebox would behave like in
earlier versions.
- It would also be fine if the Squeezebox sends a WOL packet and wakes
up the server, although I wouldn't need the server if I listen to FM,
Audio-DVDs, etc.

If you stick to the current behaviour, the squeezebox must be connected
to the mains all the time, where it consumes x Watts in standby (haven't
measured lately). This is NOT ACCEPTABLE in our times of global warming!

[slim] Bug: SB3: No WOL after PowerOn

2008-09-08 Thread feelfree

I've reported this already to the german forum, but no response so far.

I've connected the power supply of my SB3 to a switched mains output of
my Amp.
If I turn on the Amp, the SB3 gets power and is switched on.

Up to firmware 88 (approx.) of SB3 the behaviour was like this: The SB3
was trying to connect to Squeezecenter, and if this fails (e.g. if the
SC is in Suspend-Mode), the display of the SB3 was switched off after
some time.

With actual SB3 firmware, the SB3 is trying to connect to the
Squeezecenter in an infinite loop; display is scrolling all the time
(message: "Verbindung mit Squeezecenter nicht möglich; ...", and
repeating every 10 seconds...)

This is driving me crazy!

Either the behaviour of firmware 88 should be implemented or, as an
maybe even better alternative, a WOL packet should be initiated if the
1st connection attempt fails.

Please please fix this!
