Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Music-Playback now on ANDROID! SqueezePlayer released to the market ...
I've been using Squeeze Player for years. Yesterday something odd began occurring. Every time Squeeze Ctrl moves one track to the next, the volume in Squeeze Player goes to zero. This is happening if it's stepping through a playlist automatically, or if I manually advance it. Anyone have any idea what could be going on? jstraw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17008 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87364 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I have disabled password protection when I've needed to use any of those Squeezeplay instances. I can input the username on Squeezeplay and move on to the password screen. Re: [slim] Building the best Pi LMS Player
I've located the original files for the vintage meters and the upshot is that it's going to be easier for me to build something from scratch than to scale those old files up. I'll do this, but please be patient with me. I'm very gratified that people are fond of those meters. The new ones will not be identical. They will be very similar and I hope you can trust me to make them better than the last ones. Some questions: I definitely want to replace the words "Squeezebox Touch" with something that's not product-specific. I'm open to suggestions. It wouldn't be too hard to make more than one version of text...and dark and light versions. I'd like to future proof these by making them easy to scale down from the largest likely display. What size should I shoot for, 10" displays? What are the pixel dimensions for that size? Lastly, and please understand that this is not intended as extortion because I will make the new version regardless. Is there anyone here that enjoys building these contraptions enough to make me one if I either pay for or purchase and provide the hardware? Seriously, only if someone enjoys making them... jstraw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17008 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104628 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!
I've been using Orange Squeeze for a while now and I truly love it. I would like to request the following enhancements with the understanding that it may be that I just haven't figure out how to set some preferences properly. 1. The ability to set it so that incoming calls only mute the application if the active player is the phone and not if Orange Squeeze is controlling another device. 2. The option to shut off album art to have that screen real estate used for easier to read (larger) text. 3. More and better themes. I would like control over font size or the ability to select themes that deal with font size in a variety of configurations. In particular, It's not useful for me to see artist larger than title and album. What I need to see most easily is title. 4. The ability to go into a track and not just be able to navigate to the album, genre, year or the artist but also up the folder tree. For example, if I'm listening to disc 2, track 6, I can easily play all of disc 2 but not easily get to disc 1 if my library sees that as a different folder/album. Great app. Thank you so much. jstraw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17008 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

No, I did not, that's helpful. Thank you. Interestingly, there appears to be a limit on the number of albums (in my case, they're folders) that can be displayed. There is an artist for which I have a great deal of music and the display limit is reached long before the end of the list would be reached. Even if there were no limit, the list would be rather uselessly long. It would be easier to just go back to the library and drill down than to use it. It would be very useful to me to be able to drill up from the track, as long as when I went up each level, I was *at* the parent item on the list and not the top of the parent list. I have no idea if drilling up would be as useful to other people as it would be to me. jstraw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17008 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

If I hold the album name, I'll go to the folder for that disc with no good way to jump to the other disc. As far as the software is concerned, they're unrelated. If I can drill up and NOT be at the *top* of the parent folder but rather, where the current folder is in the list, the previous folder would be directly above it. jstraw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17008 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Can't get to first base, configuring Squeezeplay.
I've been using Squeezeplay on my laptop to remotely access my SBS for a long time. I had to format and reinstall everything last week and on my new Squeezeplay installation I'm not getting anywhere. When I launch Squeezeplay I select a language and then select 'continue' on the welcome screen. The next screen is the 'activate account' screen. It wants me to go to jive.squeezenetwork.com and input my pin. First, I don't use that. I just use my SBS and want to get to where I can put in my IP and port. Second, when I go to that site and log into my account, I'm unable to find any place where I would enter a pin number. When I wait, it tries to connect to mysqueezebox.com and fails. I then get a 'problem connecting' screen. What am I doing wrong? All I want to do is point Squeezeplay at my SBS running at home. When you browse by album, though, the album will (or should) never appear twice. It will be grouped with one or the other artist (I think it's usually the first one alphabetically). You can force the grouping using something like ALBUMARTIST=Mark Knopfler ARTIST=Mark Knopfler ARTIST=Chet Atkins But one downside to doing this is that the album will appear to be by the album artist and won't display both artist names until you drill down into the album or track detail level.
