If the new mesh router is using WiFi 6, that is the problem. The older radios in the squeeze family don't do well with it. Someone more knowledgeable migh t post a link. PLEASE Read carefully and correct me if I made a mistake. So, to remove your LMS installation from your ReadyNas I'm not going to remove my LMS just to find out, but it should go something like this: In the ReadyNas UI make sure that SSH is turned on, green ( System => Settings ) In your favorite ssh client ( putty is mine ) open a connection to the readynas IP. The user name is root The password is the same as the admin web uses. You have two choices once you are logged in: 1. remove the logitechmediaserver , which will remove the program but leave your preferences, configuration files. 2. purge the logitechmediaserver, which will remove the program and all configuration files. Not your library. so as root type- sudo apt-get remove logitechmediaserverto remove the program, but leave the configuration files or as root type- sudo apt-get purge logitechmediaserver to remove the program and all associated configuration files when it's done Ctrl-D or type exit to log off the command line. To re-install the LMS I would just upload the package from the ReadyNas web page , Apps tab =>upload. I'm not an expert, just looking stuff up on the net. The ReadyNas runs linux, but it is customized and minimized. Not the same as a 'distro' version of Linux. Some folks are quite comfortable poking around, but I prefer to keep things running so I don't fool around with the command line stuff any more than I have to. LMS will be the exception since the integration with the ReadyNas Web gui is old and not supported. The command line is the only way to remove the package ( that I know of ). 2 Duets controllers, 1 X Boom, 1 X Radio 1 X Receiver + Edifier S1000DB 1 X Receiver + Yamaha RX-A2000, Polk M70 1 X Receiver + Boston MicroSystem CD Raspberry Pi 3 B+ HiFi Berry Amp2 7" touchscreen PiCorePlayer 7.0 Audioengine A5 ( passive mode ) Raspberry Pi 2 B, HiFiBerry Dac+ & Max2play SqueezeAmp 3 Monsoon MM-700 flat panels + Infinity sub HTC 10 w/ Squeeze Ctrl ReadyNAS 516 LMS 8.2.1 mark wollschlager's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22302 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114571 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] LMS 8 on ReadyNAS
On the ReadyNas apps tab do you have the Logitech Squeeze server? If so turn it off and uninstall it from there. Then install the logitechmediaserver_8.2.1~1628312519_amd64.deb from the apps tab. You won't see the Logitech app anymore but you can install newer versions through the upload function. Re: [slim] From PC to NAS
I have been running LMS on Netgear Readynas for close to 10 years. It originally was fully supported but since Readynas OS6, support ( much like LMS today ) has been more community based. It works and the debian packages of LMS are the correct version, but a 'shim package' put together by a readynas community developer is required to make it work. There has not been any updates on that for a while, but it works with 7.9.1 just fine. There are many ways to run LMS, and if you need a nas for some reason, they serve as a server/storage platform that does not require much effort to run. 2 Duets controllers, 1 X Boom, 1 X Radio 1 X Receiver + Audioengine A5 1 X Receiver + Yamaha RX-A2000, Polk M70 1 X Receiver + Boston MicroSystem CD Raspberry Pi 2 B, HiFiBerry Dac+ & Max2play HTC 10 w/ Squeeze Ctrl ReadyNAS 516 LMS 7.9.1 mark wollschlager's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22302 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109681 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Ignore what's supported in LMS and Squeezebox today and instead think about how you would like it to work in the future. Do you have a need to let each family member browse their library individually ? No, 1 library If so, where are the music files stored ? On a central computer/NAS, on a computer/NAS per family member or on the portable device of each family member ? No Do you have a need to keep track of playlists for each family member ? No Do you have a need to keep track of favorites for each family member ? No Do you have a need to keep track of ratings and playback statistics for each family member ? No Does each family member have individual players which only one of the family members mostly use ? If so, should all players be controllable by everyone or do you want access to certain players to be restricted ? In that case why ? Yes , 5 players available to all, room based. Does each family member have their individual remote control/smartphone to control the players or do you also have remote controls which you share between different family members ? 4 controllers for 2 people If you have a remote control which you share between multiple family members, is it a IR-remote, smartphone, tablet or computer ? 2 Duet controllers, 2 android tablets with Logitech Squeezebox controller How would your dream system work to work as good as possible for usage of local music on Squeezeboxes and portable devices in your family ? Re: [slim] FCC reveals Logitech Squeezebox Radio
I brought up a new squeezebox receiver on my network last night using an already configured controller. I was amazed at how easy it was. Plugged in the receiver, waited less than a minute. Checked the player list on the controller, there it was. Highlighted and selected the new player ( receiver ). After a few seconds the light on the receiver changed red to blinking red to green to blinking white( loading new firmware). After about 3 minutes the receiver was ready for a new name and I could stream to it. I use dhcp and it got the WPA2 passphrase info from the controller. The initial setup of the Duet passphrase was a little pain with the controller, but this was pain free. I expect to have a boom delivered today or tomorrow and I will try to setup that with the Controller too. Hopefully its just as easy. My two duets works great out of the box, every firmware for the last 7 months. Receivers are in two different parts of the house. The latest firmware has improved the reported signal strength. My wife, who is not a gadget person, loves hers. She listens to Internet Radio, and browses the library without using a manual or asking me for help. I run it off of a Netgear NV+, no problems ( except self inflicted ). If I could justify a Transporter it would free up a Duet for the shop ( or perhaps a SB3) :-). Just my dumb luck, I guess.
