Re: [slim] Squeezebox as DLNA renderer?

2014-03-26 Thread mhaas

I'd like to do something similar:
I've got some music stored locally on my mobile phone (Sony xperia m)
and my Squeezebox Touch players are recognised as DLNA renderers by the
phone. However, if I throw some music at them, they won't play - I get
something like forbidden on the Touch screen.
I wonder if this could work at all.

Re: [slim] SqueezePlay for Windows with ASIO, DirectSound, WASAPI and WDMKS device support.

2012-10-05 Thread mhaas

I'm having problems with this. I have a WinXP PC with Squeezeplay,
ASIO4ALL and M2Tech USB converter. I usually leave the PC running 24/7,
but I shut down Squeezeplay since when I leave it on, it sometimes
crashes and freezes Windows.
I set the variables USEPADEVICE and USEPAHOSTAPI to the values showed by
Squeezeslave. After a PC reboot everything worked fine. Then, if I shut
down Squeezeplay and start it, say, next day again, eveything still
looks fine (Squeezeplay activates the ASIO driver etc, connects to LMS)
but there is no sound. I have to reboot the PC and then all is OK again.
Any ideas?
Cheers

[slim] Spotify on Touch sucks

2011-11-11 Thread mhaas

The official Logitech plugin for Spotify is really bad.Tracks I don't
have problems to find on my PC are not present on the Touch - This
track is not available in your region comes up all the time (I live in
the UK). I first thought it just doesn't filter out the unavailable
tracks but it's not the case - the whole albums are missing compared to
the PC interface. And then the following day they suddenly appear again!
Sometimes also a track in a Spotify playlist plays repeatedly instead of
continuing with the playlist. I've searched on the Internet and it seems
to be common problem both Logitech and Spotify have been aware of but
haven't fixed for months. My SBS is not on x86 processor so I cannot
use Triode's plugin and I'm very disappointed. If you are thinking to
buy the Touch for Spotify - think again!

Uninstall the official app and use ONLY the triode app.

I'd like to but as I said - my SBS runs on marvel processor and
triode's app works only on x86! And I've learnt similar problems are
with Spotify on Sonos.

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

2011-05-15 Thread mhaas

Great app!
One thing I'm missing is the ability to display track/disc numbers in
the playlists. Especially with large CD box sets it would help to
navigate easily through the albums.
Cheers

Yeah, I was thinking it might be the wireless, especially when it
happens at the start when the buffers are being filled. But my WLAN
between the SB and squeezeslave is fast 802.11n. And it works OK on my
receiver in another room which has only 802.11g wireless connection.

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Squeezeslave: 1.0 released

2010-12-01 Thread mhaas

I installed the latest squeezeslave on my WinXP PC and I'm experiencing
strange problems with it. Every time I start a new track or change a
track, the music is interupted with harsh loud hiss/white noise for a
few seconds of the play. Then it works OK. I've tried to eliminate
various possible reasons but it was the same when I tried:
1. to use both squeezeslave and squeezeslave-asio with asio4all
2. different latencies with -y switch
3. -H switch

I also can use Foobar with/without asio and all is OK.

My SB runs on Synology 119j and is version 7.5.1-r30836
The connection is wireless 802.11n 5GHz and quite fast.
I have a SB receiver in another room and no problems with it either

Any help would be very much appreciated

Sorry I should have made it clear:
I actually started with squeezeslave and DirectSound without asio4all.
The problems were the same.

I've checked both the Synology and the PC disks, they seem to be OK.

I've now found out that both squeezeslave.exe and squeezeslave-asio.exe
have problems running on my PC, e.g. with the display switch -D they are
both nonresponsive. Any pre-requisites/updates I should check for on the
WinXP system?
