[slim] Squeezebox v 2 w/ RCA outputs--can I hook this to bluetooth speaker with 3.5mm?
Per the above subject, I wonder if the Squeezebox puts out enough volume to connect to a bluetooth speaker via 3.5mm jack?? This is one of the original ones that has an antenna and a small display. Way before the duet... No built in speaker I used to have it connected to a FM/Cassette/CD player. I got rid of that... I would like it to of course have decent enough volume for me to put in bathroom?? Else I could just buy a water resistant BT speaker (with buttons on it and a way to hang it away from water) and put in shower and play songs via phone bluetooth. Note: I currently do not have a Bluetooth speaker to try this out with. [slim] How do I upgrade to Squeezecenter?
Feel free to refer me to another post. I run a copy of Slimserver 6.x against my Squeezebox 2. If I want to upgrade to Squeeze Center what problems will I run into?? I have an XM radio plugin installed, random mix, music folder on my PC that is scanned, all settings, etc.. What is the process to install this...uninstall other, etc.. [slim] Can I connect both SB2 and an SB3 and use at same time?
Can I connect SB2 and an SB3 and use at same time without issue? I have an SB2 and use it in my bedroom via Wireless G of course. I want to add an SB3 to my living room. Any problems fore-seen assuming my wireless signal is sufficient? I assume perhaps I can run one Slimserver 6.5.4 on my PC to stream my MP3's to either unit or do what I want on either unit? Thanks Toby, Internet Radio up and running. Preset I think (by my recall) are for Internet Radio. Now i know that the remote button for Shuffle is for Playlists and I am all set. Thanks so much for everything. Bought the SB2 about 3+ years ago and used it for a while. Then just stopped. Now that I have an MP3 player and XM Car Radio, I wanted to stream the MP3's and XM to another room in the house. Thanks. If given enough time (I was running around doing too much today), the LCD does display the current song. As for SHUFFLE. I did not have a playlist. I thought SHUFFLE would shuffle through the subdirectory of songs on my PC. So now I know you need to use Random Mix for that. [slim] Newbie questions on SB2 playing songs from PC
I can play songs through the SB2 without a problem. I want to play them randomly so I enabled a plug-in called Random Mix. I can keep hitting the PLAY button on the remote and a new song (not in order on PC) will change. 1. However, is there a way to have the name of the song display on the LCD rather than the word RANDOM MIX? 2. I notice if I hit Shuffle on the remote, the first song in the MP3 folder on my PC plays. If I hit the play button, it will begin the same song over. The only way to change the song is hit the down arrow and hit play (on remote). So therefore it is not shuffling. But perhaps it will only shuffle when the song is done playing. Any ideas?? 3. When playing XMRadio (I subscribe ) I notice an entry on the SB2 (version 6.54) that says "Presets". However you cannot add presets, you can only add an XM Radio station as a "Favorite". And to access Favorites you have to go to a higher level menu. Which is fine, just working thought it. I assume what I said is correct. Remarks?? Am getting used to all of this. Even though I had SB2 for a while I never played MP3's off of my PC and never used XM. Just used it for Live365 when I subscribed and for Internet Radio. Thanks for the help for a older newbie. I used to have Live365 but got rid of it after 2 years. I see that under the options for stations on the Squeezebox and SqueezeNetwork there is a station called KRCW (if I recall) and then an option for Podcasts which I think does not work. Are there any other Internet Stations that I can add without a subscription? I do have XM and am working on getting that to work (separate thread on that). I switched to Mozilla Firefox as the browser to use with Slimserver and it no longer freezes. Works perfectly. I downloaded Firefox, installe dit and ran it with the SLimServer link and no more freezes. Something with Internet Explorer verions and perhaps certain OS', patches and so on obviously have a conflict at times with Slimserver and adding more podcasts or RSS feeds. Hope this helps people. Can anyone duplicate or confirm this issue for me. I have a Squeeze Box 2 and Slimserver loaded on a high powered PC with plenty of memory. Tried it on 2 PC's actually running Windows XP. No strange software running in background. All Change buttons will freeze after I try to enter perhaps more than 10 podcasts and/or a combination of RSS feeds. Others have complained about this in the forum. Would love someone to perhaps add about 15 podcasts and try about 5 RSS feeds and see if they can keep adding them or if CHANGE button freezes on them. I have reported this to slimdevices and they are looking into this to see if it is affecting others. Thank you. I an add up to 14 podcasts. After that if I try to add one and hit Change nothing happens. Have reported this to Kevin Pearsall in Techsupport who is looking into this. The only way to add it si to edit the preferences file and add the URL and the name (they do in 2 separate places). Then stop and start slimserver.
