Re: [slim] HELP!!! Music scan terminated unexpectedly (Directory Scan)
I tried brucegrr's suggestion and disabled MSE. The scan worked fine with MSE disabled. Thanks for the tip. Re: [slim] HELP!!! Music scan terminated unexpectedly (Directory Scan)
I don't have a solution, but a simlar thing happened to me and I'm not quite sure why. Here is the readout of the Music Scan Details on the Information Page Directory Scan (20748 of 20748) Complete 00:26:36 Playlist Scan (9 of 9) Complete 00:00:07 Merge Various Artists (1 of 1528) Complete 00:00:17 Copland Conducts Copland Music scan terminated unexpectedly (Merge Various Artists) Total Time: 00:27:00 (Monday, May 24, 2010 / 12:15 AM) I would attach the scanner log file but it is huge and seems to be too big to post. Any thoughts / suggestions would be appreciated. -- rickoleum rickoleum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5801 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78401 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] SqueezeCenter slow; drops out; Time to return my duet?
I recently installed Squeezecenter 7.0 (to go with my new duet). Previously I had been running slimserver 6.5.4 with my Squeezebox and the whole system worked perfectly w/ no issues and minimal fuss. Immediately after installation, I noticed that the response time for Squeezecenter was very slow; Squeezecenter froze and hung up; songs cut in and out; the duet seemed to lose its connection; the duet would report that the player couldn't find the squeezecenter. (This happened with both my new receiver and my old squeezebox.) I uninstalled Squeezecenter, reinstalled 6.5.4 and my old Squeezebox worked once again like a charm. I have read through a number of posts involving folks with similar issues (I am running slimserver on windows xp, wired ethernet connection, relatively new belkin router). What I took from the posts is that there doesn't appear to be any clear fix. The various suggestions are either beyond my modest computer abilities or look like they'll take too much time. I'm nearing the end of the 30-day return period for the duet and I have concluded that I will just have to send the duet back. This is disappointing because I am a huge fan of the squeezebox and was looking forward to being able to use (and my wife using) the small controller. Am I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated. -- rickoleum rickoleum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5801 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46876 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] mp3 files corrupted?
Before I even got my SB3, I had ripped a bunch of files to mp3 in itunes. (I know there are better formats/better ripping progams, but that's what I did.) The songs played fine on itunes. I moved them to the computer that I am using for the SB server and initially they played fine on sb3. Now all of a sudden they won't play at all on itunes or on sb3. (they cause the sb3 to crash.) When I try to play them in windows media player (WMP), I get a message saying the file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavior. Do you want the Player to play the file? When I click yes on that WMP can't play the file because WMP may not support the file type or support the codec that was used to compress the file. Any ideas? (other than rerip the cd's in a better format . . . ) Thanks.
