I have a beaglebone which I ran with squeezelite, I will dig that out and try it. At the moment the classic is running Ogg at 192 which is entirely acceptable so I guess I'm just being difficult for the sake of it. thanks for the rest of the replies. [slim] squueze classic - LMS - cant run AAC at 320 kbps
hello I'm trying to stream hi resolution AAC 320 from paradise radio. I have LMS 7.7.1 running on zyxel 325 NAS into squeeze classic with firmware 137. the URL I am using is: http://stream-dc1.radioparadise.com:80/aac-320 the squeezebox reports: 'problem, unable to play file type for paradise' can anybody tell me if AAC at 320kbps is something that my set up cannot play, or should I adjust some settings? thanks Ed swet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5181 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106871 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] radio stream not disconnecting squeeze 3 classic
bpa wrote: When the squeezebox is switched off the stream does stop with both direct and streams that go thro server - the stream just cannot continue into nowhere but it may take a few minutes server OS will buffer TCP stream. got it, thanks bpa the significant part was 'a few minutes'. I was too impatient, the stream does indeed stop after a few minutes, which I hadn't realised because I didn't wait long enough... problem solved! I'll stick with the OGG stream, it's very good and in addition it gives the artist in the info which the old mp3 didn't do. swet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5181 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102405 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] radio stream not disconnecting squeeze 3 classic
I have recently retired a buffalo linkstation, running since early 2006, with a zyxel 325v2 running media server 7.1.1. I have just noticed that when listening to a radio stream when switching off the squeezebox with the remote the stream does not stop. The modem is polling and the network indicators do not stop or change. The only way to disconnect the stream is either to switch the squeezebox back on and select a track from the library OR go into the server web interface and remove the station from the playlist. does anybody know if this is standard behavior, or how to get around this. I have a cap on my internet connection and my ISP will charge if over the limit. This behaviour may push me over the limit if I leave the stream connected by mistake. swet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5181 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102405 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] radio stream not disconnecting squeeze 3 classic
thanks bpa I have tried connecting an AAC stream but it doesn't seem to like it(It was radio paradise that alerted me to the problem). I'm now listening to the OGG stream at 192k which sounds very nice but still doesn't disconnect so that must be direct streaming as well. It seems a bit odd that if it's direct streaming to the squeeze box then you might expect the stream to stop when the squeezebox is switched offah well! I'll just have to remember to switch source to the music library and start playing something before I switch off. swet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5181 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102405 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] output noise
apologies if this has been posted before, I couldn't find any reference. I've been running SB3 connected to my WAD 6550 valve amp for 9 months and its been fine. I've just replaced the 6550 with a Pass Labs F2 and I get big hum/buzz. I checked the amp and all was ok so I checked the phono out on the SB and I get 17mv on both channels. Now the F2 is way more sensistive than the 6550 so I'm assuming the 17mv has always been there but I've never noticed it. Can anybody please tell me if this is a fault on the SB or the product of the lousy power supply?? [slim] slimserver back versions
Can anyone tell me where I can download a historic version for linux. I am currently running 6.2.2 on windows and I would like to run the same version on my linkstation. I understand there are MySQL issues with the later versions(e.g 6.5)which in my ignorance of linux I would like to avoid. [slim] internet radio - flaky software?
Hi all Big problems with internet radio!! I can run server 6.2.2 with alienbbc 1.03 but I want to upgrade to obtain other european stations, particularly French. I have tried unsuccessfully over the last few months to upgrade to 6.3.1 (alien 1.06-6.2). Every time I select internet radio on the squeezebox slimserver stops.no error messages, just drops out..I gave up with this after spending many, many hours of upgrading and then regressing to 6.2.2got very weary with it!! today I tried 6.5 with alien 1.06-6.5it seems to sound generally crisper but...no radio at all this time slim doesnt drop out or stop, it just wont connect. The only message in the diagnostic log is something like 'no dns server responding' I have regressed once more to 6.2.2 where at least my alienbbc is working. I can't seem to get any info from the bug reports and can't find any similar posts. Anybody got any ideas? [slim] Re: internet radio - flaky software?
Hi bpa No radio at all!!! when I select slim picks the little 'wait' ring goes round and round and all buttons on the remote don't function with the exception of the volume. It locks up, and the only button that seems to work is 'search' which takes the system back to the top menu. All the alien channels just go to sleep after the connecting message on the squeezebox. I'm using xp pro(sp2) and Norton AV(2005). Its a new mobo(ASUS) with a pentium d(2.8 dual core). The alien test streams ok. As I say, the only sniff of a clue is the slimserver diagnostic which shows the message 'no dns server responding - check network config'but I havnt changed anything between 6.2.2 and 6.5 except between every reconfig I have to put slim in the norton exclusions list otherwise the firewall stops the internet access. I hope some of this makes sense. [slim] French Radio
I am having problems listening to French radio on my squeezebox, particularly RTL. The message on the SB is: 'unable to connect to'. It runs perfectly ok on softsqueeze but if I try the same URL on SB i get the above message. There dont seem to be any firewall issues(at least no trap messages) but I thought that if it were a firewall issue then the softasqueeze wouldnt work either. Has any body had any similar issues or any thoughts on a fix??? [slim] v6.3.1 and internet radio
Hi all I installed v6.3.1 to see if I could overcome my ISP connection problem(see other thread) and slimserver now crashes(shuts itself down) whenever I connect to internet radio(specifically alienbbc). All other aspects seem to work fine. I've now reverted to 6.2.2 and system works fine again. Has anybody else experienced problems with this. [slim] slimserver prevents connect to isp
Recently I have been having trouble connecting to my ISP first thing in the morning. By this I mean it just hangs on the connection. This has happened before and I remembered that it was influenced by slimserver. If I remove slimserver(6.2.2) from the m/c with task manager the connection to ISP immediately fires up. I havn't changed any of my outlook or connection settings. Has anybody else experienced this and if so, have you any ideas for a fix.
