You can get trial keys by emailing [EMAIL PROTECTED] - make sure you
get it working and like it before you worry about paying for anything.

Yes, the website needs to be updated. We're working on it.

You mean something like this?

http://music.predixis.com/6_develop_http.html#moods

Re: [slim] Using MusicIP generated playlists

2008-02-01 Thread whicken

I'm not sure which method you're using the generate the m3u files - if
you create them as playlists inside the mixer first, you can
right-click and set the "Extended" option to save them with EXTM3U
data. If you do File/Save As Playlist, those should also be in
extended format.

I don't see a hook for the HTTP API to generated extended format, but I
made a note to add that in the future.

Maybe one of those items will help?

As of MusicIP Mixer 1.9 beta 5 (released yesterday), the HTTP API will
no longer send the default values for missing metadata (they still show
up in the UI, but that shouldn't be an issue for SC). The beta is only
available for Windows at the moment, but we will be doing a linux
release in the future.

Anyways, if someone could test the Windows version to make sure it's
giving correct results with SC, that would be fantastic.

Also - note that the metadata mixer sends over the API is only the
metadata from the files. We do not use the "suggested tag fixes" from
MusicDNS unless a user specifically applies those to their files. So
any other issues reported here about strange metadata are probably
likely to issues such as album artist not being consistent with track
artist in the file. Those are things you might want to fix in your
files independent of the mixer. If someone has concrete examples, or
info to the contrary, I'd be happy to investigate to make sure things
are working as smoothly as possible.

Re: [slim] MusicIP Rocks!

maggior;307048 Wrote:

If a song is ready/mixable, but hasn't been validated yet, that means
MusicIP is using the metadata to identify the track. So a track which
is tagged as "Jumping Jack Flash" by "The Rolling Stones" will get
associated with the most common version of that track. However, the
track may be mistagged, or there may be alternate versions of this
track. During validation, we can confirm the metadata, and update the
acoustics to be more precise.

So, the upshot should generally be better mixes after validation, but
if your metadata is reasonably clean, things should work fine without
the validation. Validation always starts with the unmixable songs
first, so you can try to get complete coverage of your collection
before the more detailed cleanup process starts - this is the reason
why it starts slow and then speeds up.

This is now changed in 1.9 (currently in beta on Windows), so it should
be more friendly to Squeezecenter.

Re: [slim] The Wiki needs big help.

2008-06-27 Thread whicken

As a workaround, Google does a great job searching - if you do something
like this:

musicip site:wiki.slimdevices.com

It will find whatever you're looking for (replace musicip with your own
search phrase, the point is to add site:wiki.slimdevices.com to your
google search). This trick can be a huge time saver.

Re: [slim] Playlist Conversion Utilities

MusicIP Mixer also runs on Mac OS X, and (drum roll...) linux. You
might be interested in these pages:

Setting up a MusicIP "headless" server:

I'm sure others around here have even more useful info for this setup,
but it's fairly common. (Linux SS + MIP)
