Yes, my point about file explorer was meant to imply I'd done that. I've found an answer to my own question. Apparently with Kit-kat the ability of third party apps to write to external SD Cards has been crippled. You can download an app called "SDFix" which uncripples you, but you need a rooted device. I can confirm it works though. yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!
OK, yep found it and it works. I still don't see an option to specify the download location...which I'm sure was there before. I'd really like to be able to download to my external SD card rather than the inbuilt storage. I notice ratings are possible now, is that new? yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] ANN: Orange Squeeze 1.3.0 released!
I've just installed 1.3.4 from the Market. I noticed in a previous version that downloading files had been made possible, saw the relevant section in preferences where i could specify the download location, but didn't get round to testing it. Now with the latest version I don't see any reference to downloading in the menus or preferences at all yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97467 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Having previously said that the only functionality I miss from SC is the ability to download tracks, I've just started to use Erland's Trackstat and Dynamic Playlists which SC handles pretty well. I notice someone else asked about OS supporting these plugins. Is it in the pipeline at all? yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92330 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] New computer to act as server..?
You can go to great lengths (and great expense) to build a silent computer and in some situations it's worth the effort.but fairly cheap stock components can be pretty quiet these days. I just built a PC with an Enermax 500W PSU (complete overkill), 3 5400 RPM drives and a 3 GHz dual core energy efficient AMD CPU running the stock fan and I can barely hear it when I put my ear to the case. Runs at about 70W. It depends how much other background noise you've got going on I suppose. -- yocky yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87453 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] CPU usage with default skin, Firefox
SC 7.1, Windows XP SP3, Firefox 2.0.0.16 Think others have had this problem before but their solutions don't seem to work for me. I get pretty high CPU usage with the default skin in Firefox, around 50% on a dual core 2.5GHz PC. Everything is fine in IE or with the classic skin. I've disabled all my extensions and the problem remains. [slim] One of three SB3s can't connect
Running SC 7.1 - 22170 on XP One of my SB3s suddenly can't connect to Squeezecenter. I've tried my other two from the same location and they work fine. I've tried wireless and ethernet, no dice. It's shown as a connected device on my router. When I power it up it seems to be working, I went through the set up procedure acquired ip address, went past waking SC then seemed to get stuck at connecting to SC. Any ideas? [slim] SB3 has a mind of its own
One of my SB3s starts playing (of its own accord)whatever it was playing before I turned it off. It's about a week old, I bought it for my bedroom, partly to use as an alarm. It's the first time I've used the alarm function. I came back in at 1am this morning to find it blasting out music. The alarm is set for 6.30am. I haven't tried turning off the alarm to see if it's alarm related yet, but wondered if anyone else had noticed this behaviour. I have 3 SB3s now and thought that maybe the remotes for my other two were accidentally operating this one but obviously not given I was out of the house for this last occurrence. -- yocky yocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16305 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45845 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
